Gn_leugim: falo portugues porque morei 7 annos no Brazil. Adorei...! Muito obrigado para sua ajuda!

Of course I need help for gmax (for exemple don't know how to use unwrap UVW. If you know a thread or (even better) a tutorial explaining how to use it, don't hesitate to tell me.

Francis90b: same as Gn_leugim (for Unwrap UVW). I also have a recurent problem with Gmax. I sometimes (many times...too much times!!!!) "loose" textures when I make the render . I have to re apply the textures to get them back in the render. I changed the Modelnames.ms (as it is suggested in EA), but it seems not to work very well....

Anyway thinks a lot for your support. I really appreciate!

Hi Fancis, in fact hereafter is the render I got just after opening the bat file with Gmax. I mean that I open the file , then make a render. As you can see it seems that there is no texture, I have to "re link" them to make them appears again. It is not specific for this bat , but for all my bats (which is a lot of loosing time  ) Is there something wrong with Gmax ...? Is  that comes from an error I did ???

It is a quirk of gmax BAT.  Applied materials will be properly showing in the viewport, but when previewed or rendered, some or all of the materials will randomly vanish and be replaced by a placeholder gray.  It is hard to say if it is a memory issue of the system or the program, or if texture maps scattered across directories outside gmax's own directory, or even if map filenames longer than 8 characters exacerbate it, though many have tried different theories and solutions to uncertain effect.  I suspect memory restrictions artificially inserted into free/shareware gmax cause the program to conserve memory by shedding things like displayed textures, which must be reloaded or refreshed back into memory.  Larger models, those with more materials, or larger texture maps seem more prone to unearthing the issue, but I've also seen small models afflicted as well.  Editing objects or object geometry with materials already applied to them sometimes seems to bring the problem as well.

What can also be seen is that for the affected material, the button within the Material Editor for showing an applied material in the scene begins to malfunction by mysteriously turning itself off or even working in reverse.  Activating and deactivating that button several times in succession for that troubled material eventually brings it back temporarily to working order and also restores the material in previews and renders.  However, often fixing just one problem material alone simply causes another to inexplicably vanish when previewed.

The only certain workaround is to develop the habit of reloading all materials before every preview and every render.  It is usually enough to open the Material Navigator and then straight down the list briefly open each material one-by-one in the Material Editor, which will have the effect of reloading them.  At least for me on gmax, this allowed the previews and renders to succeed.

    Hope this helps.

Odainsaker: thanks a lot for all these precisions , I arrived at the same conclusion (yr last paragraph). However,  I will try to save map filenames with less than 8 characters... I will tell you if I notice evolution.

Dear jacqulina: For the villa , yes I made it . It is an other side of my work, in one word "farming". Just the opposite of "highconcentrationpollutionpopulation", you know, the kind of place with fresh air and nobody around in a circle of ?? miles. I didn't upload it (I made several types) as I don't know if people would be interested in that...!  here other pics...

jacqulina: Thanks a lot for yr comments . I am very happy you like it.Yes , definitively, I would like to upload them. I just have a problem. Each lot have a lot of dependencies . For example the first pic has something like 15... I am going to be "slaughtered" . But , when I make a lot I am not taking care about the family dependency I am using , I just take the one I like (I have it so I use it... as simple as that) So if I have to reduce the quantity of dependencies, I have to check everything , and then find an equivalent, lot of work for not necessary better result.

    What's yr point of view?

Amthaak very nice work on Dalian, looks much better now.

One question, on that "farm pic", mind to tell how did you make that small lake, the water in it looks great. Is that Photoshop? Thanks

    grbac80:

Thanx for yr comment on Dalian, maybe I have to work again on the entrance floor!

The small lake is a separated BAT. the texture I used for the water is in fact from a real photo I find on the net and I worked on it to add the shore with Paint Shop Pro.

about the unwrap, I know how to work with them, unfortunately I don't know any tutorial or thread but the one of gmax it self. what is your doubt about them?

Hi Fancis90b: I change to a larger lighting rig (as it was suggested by autovino). I proceed as followed:

    -File directory

          -Scenes

-Xref Scenes (you get that pic)

    rig00.jpg

    Remove the C:\gmax\Bat\scenes.... etc...

    you get that:

    rig02.jpg

After choosing add you follow the link: Scenes>CamlightRigs> you choose "TB2_CameraLightRigBig" (which is larger than "light"  9.gif)

    you get that:

    rig01.jpg

Then you save the Bat (*) , choose new, then you merge the Bat you just saved! I am doing the merging operation because I noticed that I had some render problem if I stop the process where I put (*)

    Hope it is comprehensive...44.gif

Those villas look great! Will you be releasing them? Could you make landmark versions? 9.gif

    Keep up the good job!

Hi De Ja Vu: I am strongly thinking of releasing them. I have landmark versions with farm jobs. They have to be used carefully, I mean exactly like any farms (no pollution, not to much transit, etc....)
