Is there any word on when this is going to be fixed cause it is really starting to get frustrating.

Nobody really knows when the download speeds will pick up. That depends on when dirk will get around to it. This post should clear up why the speeds are so slow, but that's if the topic doesn't get merged here by the time you read this:

The last couple of weeks I have been having problems with downloading stuff from the STEX.

I have gone to other sites to download stuff and have no problems. Usually can get 124 to 200kbp 

but on the Stex my speed is snail like. It starts at 14.5kbp and keeps going down until it stops right in the middle of download.

It is a widespread problem going on with the STEX. I recently wired my connection. So try it from another browser, computer, connection, or type of connection. BTW, should be posted in Simtropolis Related.

I am also having problems uploading my latest project to the STEX. When uploading, a window pops up displaying an internal server error. The file was then processed but when I viewed it, the description and the comments section didn't display correctly. I tried this multiple times (in different browsers) but I has no success and deleted the upload on both occasions. I am going to try again now, but if it doesn't work, I will have to try later this week.

I have noticed that everytime I try to download something from your website (which is an awesome site by the way) I get a very slow transfer rate which starts at about 100kb/s and drops to 8kb/s or lower or sometimes will just stop downloading in the middle of a download. This has happened on 4 different computers in different areas so it isn't just one computer I've tried it on. Has anyone else complainedabout this?

Okay, so I've been trying to post an update to my city journal, but it gives me "Provide some content" even though there is content in it. I'm assuming perhaps this may be because I pasted the whole thing which I put together seperately.

Does anyone have a suggestion on how to fix/get around this issue? Thanks in advance

I cant download anything from the stex it just says the page cannot load everytime and i have had this problem for awhile now it works on another computer just not mine

There has been various comments alluding to the fact that the site has an "upgrade" in the works. If so I certainly have a request... If you use your profile to flag those forums, etc that you aren't interested in it is almost worse than useless. You'd think it would block those topics from being displayed to you when you look for "latest threads" or "unread threads" or etc. It does not work like that. Instead you get all those topics mucking up your browsing of topics, but if you happen to click on a thread in one of those forums it tells you that you "don't have permission to access" that thread or similar words. Hopefully in the next version it will work logically and block those threads from being displayed to you (most likely the reason you wanted to block them to start with.. YOU're NOT Interested! .. LOL)

This site has become very popular becuse of cities xl 2011, there are alot more users downloading. That means the sites maxium download rate will be reached faster. If you see that message, thats what happend. To fix it download at a time of the day when others wont be downloading. Sometime like early morning or at night will have fewer users.

Often times I can't enter Live Chat, it would say, "Waiting for Simtropolis" for a few minutes, and then say "Disconnected" even when there were less than 10 people in the Live Chat.

STEX also seems to be broken...
