This is the place to report all technical issues and bugs relating to Simtropolis.

Please post things you notice here. Please keep the posts, short, factual and to the point.

Please do not start a new thread of your own...

...if you do your thread will be merged here.

Please also take a moment to look at what others have posted to see if someone has already mentioned the same thing... we do not need 10 posts in a row all saying that the search function is not working...

Please rest assured that the technical staff are working very hard to make the transition as smooth as possible and to fix problems as soon as possible.

Your patience and cooperation is greatly appreciated.

General chatter and informal discussion about the site upgrade should still take place here.

The only thing I have noticed is that over the last two days, while editing some posts, after I hit 'edit' (on the edit post page not the forum page) my browser has gone "not respondong" and when I restore the session, the edit has worked... but later the edit is gone, leaving my old post but still reading that the post was edited at the correct time at the bottom. I noticed this while updating the start page of my cj. It was no big deal, as I got the posts edited eventually. Could be something to do w/ the upgrade, could not. Thanks, abcvs!

I got a bug when trying to uplod something to the STEX. Im going to try again to see if it still happens.

So, the chat counter is stuck again, I am most certainly not in there! (though I might as well be; I seem to be in there 24/7/365) This happens from time to time, but it happening right now during the upgrade may be more of a coincidence that I am prepared to believe.

I have only noticed this today, but pinned or sticky topics don't seem to always be acting consistently sticky.  In different forums, the sticky threads are being pushed downward by newer posts, just load randomly sorted downward, or even a combination of the two.  This is not always consistent, as browsing a given forum with misbehaving stickies in a later session will show it acting correctly, while a different forum in the new session will be affected.  There doesn't seem to be an immediately obvious pattern of why one forum will be affected while another is not.



For me right now, the "Architecture, Urbanism, and Planning" forum has its stickies no longer acting sticky.  Several hours ago, it was the "General Discussion" and "City Journals" forums.

Ah, that doesn't have much to do with the upgrade I don't think. The stickness just needs to be..re-stickied

Okay, recently I've noticed two things, but they're both on the STEX: number 1, when I try to post a comment on someone's upload, it gives me that same "unexpected error" message. The second thing, whenever I do a STEX search, it gives me the usual results, but this weird message pops up:

"Bind failed for autosuggest criteria, bind value is not a 1D array of strings [Enable debugging by adding 'cfdebug' to your URL parameters to see more information]"

That's it.

When trying to search the forum I get the message:

"Your search contained ignored words, ignored words are words like a,and,to,between.Please re-construct your search without these ignored words."

even though my search didn't contained any of the above ignored words.

Well the title of this thread says "Site Upgrade In Progress", so there are bound to be some lssues while this happens. 

If the search function doesn't work after the upgrades have been completed, then we have a problem.

Ex.  The ST Chat bar at the left of the forum has stated it has had the same 3 users in it all day long.  However if you pop into chat you'll see that there are different members in there, and a different total.

I consider this site a construction zone now that upgrades are in progress.  We just need to be patient and let the workers do their job.

Look on the first page, Skigeek used her Admin powers to push all the posts in that thread forward one space, if you look at the date and time stamp in all posts in that thread (bar a couple of the last ones), you'll see what I'm talking about. The entire thread was 're-posted' yesterday.

I have a tendency to notice stupid things, not really issues, just small things, like we are no longer the Simtropolis Forums, but the Simtropolis Forums Forums...

That was me.   I created a new post your picture thread and copied the posts to the new thread.

My hope was that it would shake the thread out and get rid of the PFB.

Instead, the system choked on it and threw it in the trash can.

At the moment, it appears that we can not recreate a new PFB but we still have the old ones.

Can't upload anything to the STEX, whatever I try to do is useless, seems to be out cold, it's telling me about unexpected errors and to contact the site admin every time. Besides nothing has moved on the STEX since a few days. Thought you might wanna know.

Doesn't affect functionality, but still a tad annoying:

Whenever I hit "reply", the resulting popup for the post is full screen sized rather than its usual 718×650.
