Yea, 10-6 now. No offense, but they are two boring teams fighting for a rare playoff spot.

    Wow. What a shootout...lol.

Jay Cutler has 17 interceptions on the season already...nasty!  I thought Romo was turnover prone.  I wonder how the Bears are feeling about trading for Cutler now?  The Broncos look like a significantly better team and have a bevy of high picks to use to continue to stock up on talent over the next few years in the draft.

Both if the teams desperately needed a win tonight. Honestly I cannot stand how impatient fan bases are today. Not everyone can win; for one team to win, another must lose. New coaches come in and try to implement their programs, typically to the tune of some growing pains, but nowadays it seems like they recieve no time for that growing period. Seriously, Mike Singletary has lost his team and needs to be fired?!? Give me a freaking break, how can 49ners fans be so shortsighted and so short on memory to not remember the success SIngletary has achieved in the last year. Eric Mangini needs to be fired?!? He has recieved one of the worst talent depleted teams in the NFL and has had less than a season to craft them in his image, and yet the fan base demands he be fired. There happens to be another Browns coach that did not experience much success during his tenure, but he happens to be pretty widely respected for his coaching ability in New England nowadays.

People need to have patience with their franchises and NEW regimes trying to carry out their visions. Alas...the human race is burdened by a disproportionate amount of ignorant, unintelligent masses that also watch football and are doing too much talk and not enough thinking. Its why I love this forum; we only have intelligent football fans here. Thanks guys! 3.gif

Good to be 1-0 to start the week off 4.gif

My picks this week. Forgot to put em up!

New Orleans vs. St. Louis- Saints (No offense, but DUH!)

    Minnesota vs. Detroit- Vikings

    Baltimore vs. Clevland- Ravens

    Arizona vs. Seattle- Arizona

Kansas City vs. Oakland(ugh...)- Oakland, I guess.

Tampa Bay vs. Miami- I think Miami, personally. But TB looked good against my home team: The Packers.

New England vs. Indianapolis- Good Game!!! Indianapolis.

Atlanta vs. Carolina- Atlanta is a little shaky, while Carolina is coming on stronger late. But Atlanta still.

Denver vs. Washington- Denver. Going with my youth pastor.

    Tennessee vs. Buffalo- Tennessee

New York Jets vs. Jacksonville- New York Jets. Send Jacksonville to LA!!!

Green Bay(YAH!) vs. Dallas- Green Bay(I have a knacking...)

Pittsburg vs. Cincinatti- Pittsburg is looking hot. But so are the Bengals. Pittsburg in overtime.

San Fransisco vs. Chicago- Saw it. SF 10, Chi 6.

San Diego vs. Philidelphia- San Diego

I did NOT look at scores. That's my opinions there using our local paper's Sheridan's line and the Sagarin differences.

Actually, it's worse than that.  Five of us are 6-7 [including you and I47.gif] and the other is 5-8...horrendous week.45.gif

Daaang. 5-8 with 2 games to go. Hands down my worst day of picking all year.

The green bay Dallas game was depressing because it was one of those games that even though your team shows up and competes, a couple of little things out of your control go the opponents way and they come out with the win. Roy Williams, 5 catches, 108 yards 1 td. Also, crucial drop on third down when he was wide open, and crucial fumble in the red zone. At least he has something going with Romo now...

That Roy Williams fumble was the turning point, we had a dang good drive going early in the game. And couldnt do nothing till the end to avoid the shut out.

Not to complain about the officiating but you cant review a change of possision play?

The cowboys recovered that fumble dang it.

    Pe U

6-7 so far could go 8-7. Redskins win against the Broncos?Whats next Cleveland beats Baltimore?

Titans win again who would have thought Vince Young could play.

maruice jones drew taking a knee cost me my fantasy game this week.

it was a good call, unlike the  Dallas fumble that gave GB a TD.

I was thinking that we could move the pick deadline ahead by 18 hours like so:

Thursday games: pick must be posted by Wednesdays at 6pm Eastern Time, 5pm Central, 4pm Mountain and 3pm Pacific

Sunday/Monday games: picks must be posted by Saturdays 6pm Eastern Time, 5pm Central, 4pm Mountain and 3pm Pacific

After the past couple of weeks, I think we all need a few extra hours to ponder our choices from now on, don't you?

well first off, I should thank you all for not taking my comment and stomping all over me with "sour grapes" comments cause that is definetely what i would do within seconds if i saw one of you make that comment haha 17.gif

but heres my honest thoughts on everything last night, because this game was every bit as troubling as the 2008 Super Bowl or Game 7 of the ALCS [2003]. And yes, the grady little comparisons came immediately in boston after the game ended.

But I stand by Belichicks decision on fourth down. If they get that, its genius. its gutsy. They don't get it, so its brash and stupid. And now all those bandwagon fans are jumping on belichicks back, but any true fan would support Belichicks decision. Look at it this way. If the pats punt that ball. The Colts drive 70 yards and score. If they miss that 4th down, the colts go 20 yards and score. No matter what, the pats are going to need time to get that game winning touchdown. It almost worked beautifully like that. Addai went up the middle untouched and was stopped at the 5 with a minute 30 left. Meriweather intentionally misses that tackle, its patriots ball, 1:30 left, a field goal needed to win. Its basically like choosing to put the game in Tom Brady's hands versus Peyton's.

And another thing....Its not 2003. Willie McGinest is not walking through that door. Tedy Bruschi is not walking through that door. [sorry, always wanted to do that speech...]. So why on earth would you make that tackle at the one yard line. Do you seriously think you can stop the greatest statistical quarterback of all time from getting 1 yard? or even 5 yards? Just let them waltz into the endzone, and get the ball back, with only a field goal needed for the win.

Other things that grinded my gears...

Maroney. Fumbling the ball on what would have been the insurance TD.

The Welker Timeout-Why? he said he took it so they could avoid a broken play, but the play was broken after the timeout anyway...

    Calling a draw on 1st and 10 with 2 30 left...who didn't see that coming....

    Calling two passes on 3rd +2, 4th+2.

    THE SPOT

The refs claiming that the play could not be reviewed because it was before two minutes. However, not only was the clock set at 2 minutes, but it was moved back from 1:57 to 2 minutes. Anybody who plays madden knows that the 2 minute warning starts at whatever time the play stops at if the ball is snapped and then 2 minutes occurs after the snap.

    Positives:

Coming out of this game, who are you going to trust for the rest of the year? The team that dominated for 56 minutes, or the team that dominated for 4 minutes. The colts got exposed, suffered a boatload of injuries to an already depleted roster, and the peyton manning face [the ultimate expression of confusion and frustration] appeared for the first time in years. The patriots on the other hand, basically just messed up. They weren't exposed, they didn't play bad at all...in fact they were amazing for 3 and a half quarters. I would bet my college savings on the pats in a rematch this january.

At least we don't have to worry about the playoff picture...

    1. Colts

    2.Patriots

    3. Bengals

    4.West Champ.

    That much is basically garunteed.

Also I thought maroney and leigh bodden looked good, obviously besides maroneys fumble and the one time bodden got burnt.
