Hello Mr. Beer!

Your problem sounds someway familiar with my longtime problems under XP, solved it by adding the parameter "-sound43.gifff" to the icon. No Sound yet (don't miss it much, though) but also no more CTDs except the usual ones with the puzzle pieces ... 3.gif

Nice work with the zoo. You are maybe the only one that can make maxis trees look good ...

Take care my friend!

psander5  -  Thank you! I'm very inspired by american's sprawling cities... So, it's a fact, medium sized cities in the US are large...

    Benedict  -  Thank you!

x493x  -  Thank you... whoo.. let me remember... try "Modular Zoo" on the STEX's search engine or go to www.sc4devotion.com and take a look...

nerdthisname  -  He, thanks! Around less than one year (I didn't play every weekend) It tooks to me around three to four days for one map...

bakercity  -  Thank you my friend! Sure, I'm currently working on downtown! You'll be surprised!

packersfan  -  Thanls, yes, sure I'll keep it up!!! With the LE you can easely make your own ploppable lots! It takes time but the render is really good! See ya!

(ca)Nardo69  -  Hi Bernhard! I'm glad to see you back on my CJ! Yep, now the problem is fixed. No sound, but isn't very important. Puzzle pieces? Did you mean that sometimes some props disapears? It's what's happening in my game...
Thanks, the zoo was a challenging project! Thank you again Bernhard!

sammerhammer747  -  Thank you very much for your comment my dear friend! It's a pleasure to share it! So, I didn't have as many time as before I began to work, but I try to update regulary!

Thank you for visiting my CJ - So, forecast for Switzerland is very bad, also I'll get some time to play and to make an update. Stay tuned!

    Hello!

I am still amazed everytime I read through your journals. Dubuque and your previous ones are always great. Being from the midwest I really enjoy touring them and the realism you captur! I have one quick question if I may? I know you plop all of your residential and after making them into different size lots. Everytime I try to plop a residential building it works for awhile then turns abandoned. How do you overcome that? Especially with such a vast region.

    Keep up the great work!

    Eric

This is a great little CJ. It feels very realistic the way you've layed out your suburbs and industrial areas. Made me think of the two years I spent living out in Calgary. Western cities have a real distinct feel to them that's not there back in the East. They're just too new.

Hi there, I'm back with a small update and a surprise!!!

sloppy182  -  Thank you very much! I personally think that SC4 devellopers are from the Midwest 2.gif  It's actually the only kind of cities that fits really good with the game.

Don't worries. I've the same problem. In my farming areas, the population decreases to zero because there is no job. In the most mixed areas with commercial and industrial zone, the population increases or decreases. Anyway, I must play on pause mod most of the time. I tried to solve this problem by installing some mods (dilapidation mod, job mod, etc.)

Mayorm  -  Me too! I'm glad that you come visit my CJ again! Thank you.

Spa  -  Thank you! I try to do the best I can. As I said to Sloppy182, this kind of cities are just perfect for a recreation due to the game specifications. Yes, you can't compare a East Coast and Midwest. They're square-mile based, orthogonal and new...

Your "Google Earth View" just makes it for me. The wonderful craftmanship paired along with a stunning overhead view is just amazing. Wow.

Maybe you should make an Omnibus article on how do do that kind of picture.

Umm, ... *faint* (splash water on face) .... Whaaaa.... WOW! That is amazing, truely my inspiration David! You have built on a level of realism I believe only captured before by the likes of TheJerseyDevil, and Joerg.

I look forward to your next creation, maybe you could do a Canadian City, possibly (Regina, or Saskatoon) haha I know its a biased opionion but hey what can a Saskatchewan boy say.

    Very nice work David!

WOW, so much progress, great work on your CJ! David, I especially like to region view, as it really shows how much you have been working on and moreover gives a very clear image of Dubuque.

Looking forward to more and take care,

This is an amazing CJ. Have you snagged any of my BATs from the STEX? IMHO, they're so homey for a place like yours here...!  I'd be flattered if they popped up in such a great CJ as this... 4.gif

GOOD TEXTURES ARE MADE, NOT FOUND.
(I get tired of saying that in BAT threads.)

"Never keep up with the Joneses. Drag them down to your level." - Quentin Crisp
"I believe in talking behind peoples' backs. That way, they hear it more than once." - Fran Lebowitz
"Ordinary morality is for ordinary people." - Aleister Crowley

    Whoa.

First of all that first Asbury Park picture is absolutely gorgeous. I especially love how everything gets placed by the creek and the silver L-shaped building. It's also nestled along farms and encroaching suburbs.

    And the downtown....WOW!

It's exactly what a midwestern downtown would be like...with tall buildings but empty streets and surface parking lots...you made it dusty and boring very realistically. I can't wait to see the rest of the urban core and the areas surrounding Downtown.

Incredible. Can't wait to hopefully emulate your beautiful city building. If you saw my last update, my farms look realistic, now I hope my city can too! Just like your beauty.

    Hi Guys/Girls!!!

    Benedict  -  Thank you!

Stanislav Soltys  -  Here it is! But for the moment downtown is under devellopment... Thank you!

x493x  -  Stunning, isn't it? I was stunned myself... What is the Omnibus? It's that a "How to do that/this..." forum?

    Thank you for your comment!

MTLT_17  -  Oh, thank you a million! TheJerseyDevil did an incredible work on recreating Edmonton, in Alberta. It's an amazing inspiring CJ, like the NYC'CJ by Lucky.

Maybe something in Canada... there is a lot of cool cities to recreate, and yep, I'm ging to see about Regina and Saskatoon ; 2.gif. Thank you again Marshall!

lucky7  -  Thank you René! Your project of recreating NYC is just amazing, especially the Lot Editing, mine is fictionnal based, also much more easier than yours.

    Take care you too!

Mayorm  -  Thanks! Yes and I'm very satisfayed by downtown. And by the entire region too!

madhatter106  -  Thank you! What kind of BATs did you create? What is IMHO? Anyways, it was a pleasure to build my region with your work! Sorry if I did some Lot Editing...

Raysfan16  -  Thank you. I built Asbury Park a long time ago... but it's interesting to see how urban sprawl mixes with farming areas. Yep, in my opinion there is probably too much empty spaces. Also Des Moines is my main source for my project. I also took some ideas from Toledo, OH and Dayton, OH too...
