Wow. Everything looks real. But Iowa looks boring though (no offense to Iowa fans).

Good work! I like to see more of your creations!

Raysfan16  -  I do. I use a modd (by RaphaelNinja) to decrease the commute time. Thanks for your post!

    Mayorm  -  Thank you!

    art128  -   Thanks!

lucky7  -  Hello René! I took the idea to use the modular airport puzzle piece from your CJ! Very useful! I was wondered by how you've made your warehouses! I'll take care about my night view pictures.

Thank you for your post and keep NYC up!

Victor Valdes  -  Thank you Victor! I'm very glad by your comment!

crazychickensc12  -  Thank you very much! Take care!

tkuelker(at)gmail.com  -  I simply use the diagonal taxiway puzzle pieces. It doesn't look like runway with the textures, but it gives some realism that can be really appreciated!

Benedict  -  Thank you for your post!

aleking  -  Thanks!!! I'm very touched!

Muck308  -  Thanks! Some of these real neighborood inspired me for my lots! Thank you again!

1994  -  I know about Iowa! But I like these mid-sized cities you can find all around the Midwest. Thanks!

Just amazing in the region view as you start to fill in the downtown area. Things I liked about this update: the fact that you have two different sports tracks/football fields; the way you place your industry - lots of parking around buildings, lots of space (grass, trees etc) between the buildings.

Once again, really good work. I am amazed how the basic grid, with the occasional diversion, works so well. There's also something about the color of the greens.. tone perhaps... that fits so well with what you're creating.

    Wow ! As always it's awesome !

I loooove your interchange build of oneway streets, it's creative and usually it doesn't look so good, but your way to use it is simply stunning !

I love the openness of your commercial areas. You use some sort of lot to bring traffic into a commercial lot,

that blends in with the gray pavement. They don't have sidewalks. Are they traffic enabled? I've tried to do a

similar thing but not as effective as you have achieved. Very nice indeed!

I never liked gridcities, but man, you're definately the exception on that rule, what an awesome CJ!

I especially like your use of the peg ponds and streams (big fan of those myself), the way you use trees, the powerlines, your use of parkinglots, and in general the way you manage to break up the grid with your detailing. One of my favorite CJ's here to follow, though I might not comment much. Just awesome.

crazychickensc12  -  Thank you! I agree with you, the PEG's Stream Kit is a wonderful and usefull pack that gives you the ability to make realistic and tiny rivers.

Benedict  -  Thank you! Sure that these ploppable powerlines look better than the in-game ones...

Raysfan16  -  Thank you very much for your comment! I'm glad you appreciate it!

rewright  -  Not entirely, I've download a parking lot pack with parking entrance that are transite enabled (1x1) and I've reloted them using PEG's textures for the driveways. Their function is only to simulate parking or path entrance and they are very modular! Thanks for your post Dick!

Shilka  -  Thank you, I'm very glad by your comment! Midwestern cities fit good with the in-game orthogonal pattern. I get inspired a lot by image I can find with Google Earth. Thank you again man!

    penguin007  -  Thank you Will!

    Satellite View - Downtown

I don't have a lot of time this week to keep my work forward. So, I touched up some part of my region, especially South Dubuque and downtown.

I've added a larger river (Grande Fourche River) who sepparate downtown to the southern neighborood and flows to the Massagamee River. Some industries will take place in the area west of the baseball park (South Pointe Field)...

Roosevelt St. (parralell to the Grande Fourche River) have been raised to avoid on-grade crossing with the railtracks (some close-up pictures will be posted soon)

Grande Fourche River needs to be re-worked a little bit to looks less smooth-curved.

    Here is the picture!

Hey, I am glad you took up my idea of using the airport puzzle pieces for warehouse complexes, it's very efficient, isn't it? Honestly spoken, it would even be more efficient if someone BATted some warehouse puzzle pieces, as this would be very simple IMO Only by changing the roof textures of the different types one could build more realistic complexes. Mhm, I should make a request for this, I am sure a lot of of people could benefit from that... ! And thanks for the compliments!

Back to you: the satellite pics are awesome, really! Do you take them by using the sc4mapper region view or the Maxis's one? The best thing about these is that when you slightly close your eyes it they seem to be real. Great work, looking very much forward to more and take care,

    Ren

    penguin007  -  Thank you Will!

lucky7  -  Thank you René! Yes, it is! What a brilliant idea to use these pieces to make large and modular warehouses. It would be a great idea to use the same logic for a collection of modular warehouses. Somebody on the STEX made modular storage center. So it wouldn't be difficult for a BATer to creat a collection.

For my region view, I use the sc4mapper region view. Better and much more detailled (I often make a "print screen" to select a part of my region)

Thank you again René for your comment! Take care and receive the same encouragement from me for your region!
