    First Update of the week.

*Is this the end of a smalltown Paradise*...was the headnews in the Round Lake Tribune this morning...* The counsel of Round Lake is slowly tearing appart*...
Half of the Round Lake's counsel is for the development of the county and the other half against it. Some serious and very heavy animated discussions were held last night in the monthly meeting of the town's administration. The Capitol Gloryville, last week opened the door for Round Lake Junction and gave the green light to the mass immigration from Uru. A bridge was built that now connect's this municipality with the Hawklyn Valley and Grand Dam, and plans for trains and even a Highway are in the making to connect this once small paradise with Axis South, a big City with a lot of promissing futur.
Round Lake Junction was always known as the smalltime town, that was inviting folks for the afternoon to spend at the race tracks, in the  Casino or just go fishing or have a boat ride. This is Joao Otavio's favourite place to relax and also the second home to Jasen McLary, since he comes here every weekend to spend his free time with the Car maniacs on Otavio's Race Track. Jasen don't care or couldn't give a darn, whether this town will stay like this or become a Big City, as long as the Race track will stay around, but many other people think differently.
Now already some clearing for the residential development has been made by the Razor Blade Logging Industries from Treeland and much more is to come. The little Town was never that busy. An Interview with some locals reveiled that almost 99 % of the population is against this invasion, but what can one do against the powerful machine of the government, but also every small business owner mentioned that business is excellent and never has been good like this before.

    1Round%20Lake%20Junction-View.jpg

Razor Blade Logging Industries from Treeland got the job to clear the land and beautiful old and virgin forests were cut down in a few days, when they came with the most modern machines to *raze* the land. The Genesis Park and Recreation Association from Gloryville was present and demonstrated to save at least some trees , but the machines were hungry and didn't even realize that they were there.

    2roundValleyLumber.jpg

The bridge, conceived by Lyll Nexis Bridges Inc, didn't take long to get constructed and soon it will be open for the public. Some minor works are about to be finished. Now one do not have to make a giant detour through Axis South to get to Grand Dam anymore. Now it only takes a half an hour or so, than 2 hours before.

    3RoundLakeBridge.jpg

Of course with the development comes the train and here they are already preparing the terrain to build the station, just outside of the town. One good thing though that this invasion brings to the community is work. No more bummers that hang out on the streets anymore, everyone found a job, even the laziest tasted the power of income from good work.

    4RoundLakeTrain.jpg

A last look at the smalltown's downtown, if we can call it that. Mostly consisting of small shops like resaturants, gift and souvenir shops etc, the downtown is not much to impress anyone, but tourists liked to come here and walk the streets going from one store to the other and maybe walk away with a Round Lake Junction T-Shirt or a Coffee-mug with a picture.

    5RoundLakeDowntown.jpg

Now, things in Cold Valley have been moving a lot. The regional Prison slowly takes form. Because of the massive labour that is needed here, some have already moved in and started a residential area just north of thre Sirius Power Corporation. A small village has been formed, another community is born.

    6Cold%20ValleyRes.jpg

Construction on the futur Prison site also has been busy and slowly some buildings are taking shape. Here it has become impossible to hear a crow or another bird during day hours. The noise of the machinery, hammering, welding and the labourers have taken over the natural sounds so much, that it can even be heard down in the village.

    7Cold%20ValleyConstView.jpg

This is a part of the Main building where almost 10,000 inmates can find a new *home*.

    8Cold%20Valley-CloseA.jpg

The same from another view. A fortune is spent here, only to keep outlaws off the streets and security for the population at its max.

    9Cold%20Valley-CloseB.jpg

Ok, that was it again, next time we will visit Treeland, now the Capitol of Agriculture and even there, a small town is in development , plus a look at the Miner's town of Coarseville, that surprizingly is staretd growing again, even after the MacVicar mines were shut down in this part of Genesis. Of course an update of Clay Wallace's journey will be attached. They are on foot now in the Agony Bay County, the last frontier to the unknown.2.gif

Yay, another update! RLJ looks prepared for new development, you can already see much construction in the pictures! Even though I'd prefer to keep it a small town, I'm happy that it's growing. Great work!

Nice, but I think the Razor Blade Logging Industries shouldn't have taken out the trees like that, if that keeps up, it seems like there won't be any trees left.

I think that growth is good, it means that genesis is getting bigger in population, which is a good thing in my view, but maybe not, whatever. I think I'll be happy when the pison is built, please don't make it look old school, same old, same old. Put some pazzaz into, or at least make it cool, mebbe a B.A.T. 39.gif37.gif44.gif

*L* I like the name Agony Bay.

Regarding the novel, that might be a good idea. This CJ has great pictures, but unlike other CJs, it has a very strong story line and doesn't depend on the pictures, and that, in my opinion, is one of the greatest strengths of this CJ. When this ever finishes (if it ever finishes, and I'm sure we all have our own thoughts about that 10.gif) I'm sure that if mrbisonm puts the same effort in, and has a good editor, he could make quite a good novel out of this.

That is a really impressive construction site... For the actual prison building are you using a BAT you made or a collection of buildings? Or am I going to have to wait to find out? HAHA, nice work!

RHF, well I am glad that you agree to the growing of Round Lake Jct, because it will, much to your enjoyment I am sure.

Mat8hew, I like mixing buildings like this, because it gives a more reality look to a community, imo.

Well, Leech10, where there is construction, trees will fall.24.gif

screamomatic and Afro Thunda, don't worry about the prison, it will be a mixture of one or two small BATs and many new Nexis custom lots, never seen before. The prison walls are Nexis BATs and they will be released on the STEX soon.19.gif

tinotheus4, thanks , but I don't know about the novel, I am not really a Novelwriter and my english isn't that good neither. Take it just as a SC4 Story and enjoy while you can2.gif

    Some News from Genesis:

In Grand Dam it was announced that the Dam has been repaired and no one should worry about it anymore. A new Director has also been chosen.

In Thunderlake, the only volcano on Genesis erupted this morning and since we have not heard from Clay Wallace and his friend, who just passed by that region yesterday. His parents are worried and for now a rescue airplane has been sent to see what exactly happened in Thunderbay.

    Thunderlake-Eruption1.jpg

Vladimir MacVicar was elected as Mayor of the Capitol City today, Gloryville. Vladimir is the CEO of the Genesis Standard Mines , he is also the son of the famous Alexander MacVicar.

That's it again, and a s soon I hear from the kids in the Ganoga Valley, I will let you all know.1.gif

    Another Update:
Before the Rescue plane ,that was sent to find Clay Wallace and his friend, reached the Ganoga Valley, an Imagefoncall came in from the Wallace team in Agony Bay, and mentioning that everything was just fine. The eruption hardly woke them up and it only lasted for less than 10 minutes, as other usual and regular monthly eruptions in the past century or so. Clay Wallace and his friend have reached the Agony Bay and they will camp there for a few days. After they will send some Amazing pictures (as they promissed) by Imagefon of some unique finds in the undiscovered country. They said that arriving in the new land was like christmas for a small child, full of surprizes. Clay Wallace already talked about having a weekend home here, once he can effort it.
Still some lava can be seen and it will take a few days or even a week or so to completely disappear again and the mouth will fill up with water again, after a few rains.
The trip that the team took is here clearly identified. They were brought here by a jeep of the scientist, down to Jim's Huntingcamp, where they stayed the first night. The next day they took a small sailboat and continued the journey on water to Agony Bay.

    1Thunderlake-Eruption2.jpg

In Treeland, things are still the same. Only slowing growing, this agricultural farmland has been like this for many years now. The newly elected Mayor promissed to make some major changes and maybe have a part of the hill unzoned and permitted to build a residential sector. This of course has to be done in Gloryville in the Regional Administration Office and can take many months.

    2aTreeland-View.jpg

Here we see a part of the town and we understand that it is limited for expansion at this moment. Agricultural land cannot be turned into another zone, once it has reached the age of 5 years or more, un less it can be proved that it is no longer profitable for any agricultural use. It is a Genesian law and so be it!.

    3Treeland-Village.jpg

Still the biggest Industry in Treeland and one of the biggest on Genesis, is the Razor Blade Logging Industry, which is responsable for 40% of all clearing lands on Genesis. Founded by the famous millionaire Huber Sims, now deceased since many years, it is run by his two sons, Kay and Billy Sims, which also are in their early sixties now and have their own sons, which will take over the company in a few years. This Company has only one very serious Competitor, which is the Tim Chula Logging Company in Black Lake and Moose Bone and which is about the same size.

    4Treeland-RazorBlade.jpg

In coarseville, the southern neighbor of Treeland , things are changing more rapidly. Although the MacVicar Mines are completely closed in these mountains now, the Factory itself is still under 100% production. The ore comes in from the Unforgiven Mines by train and is extruded and refined right here. Vladimir MacVicar, now the CEO of the Genesis Standard Mines Ltd, has confirmed of a major expansion of the Company and assuring at least another 1000 jobs within the next year, and all this here in Coarseville, which was music to the ears of the Mayor. He has always been an expansionist, only thinking how to enlarge his town more and more. May this be a beginning of a City in the southern part of Genesis?
The mines are slowing overgrown with vegetation again, after the horrible earthquake caused by overmining that killed hundreds of Miners and dozens of other people in Coarseville many years ago.

    5Coarseville-MinesClosed.jpg

Coarseville is divided somehow into three sectors and no one really knows how it all started. It just is growing like this since the beginning. Here is the slightly poorer residental sector, mostly dominated by appartment blocks and rowhouses.

    6CoarsevilleApparts.jpg

A little further to its neighbor Black Lake, the landscape changes and individual homes and some condos can be found, which shows us a higher wage sector.

    7CoarsevilleHomes.jpg

And downtown is almost by its own, somehow a bit separated from the rest. People her go mostly to Black Lake to get their weekly needs and to New Sholes for the bigger purchases. A reason why Coarseville's downtown is not growing anymore. The Mayor said that the habit of the citizens to go elsewhere has to be changed and he got into contact with Adley Hawklyn and his son Caldwell in Hawklyn Valley, to convince them to start a small shopping Mall in Coarseville. Caldwell, now very busy and infiltrated with his father's farms and Malls ,agreed to the idea, but things first have to be discussed with the owner and CEO himself,Adley.

    8CoarsevilleDowntown.jpg

    Other news:
Some radiodifficulties were reported with the Companion probe to the meteor Opall lately, nothing serious , but undesired. Miss Evermind cannot figure out what exactly is wrong with it, but Mr Otavio thinks that is caused more by the meteor itself than Evermind's workmanship on the probe. Evermind took a lot of pride in her almost perfect probe that she entirly conceived and surveyed its construction.

Terrible news this morning and which made the toplines of many newspapers is that Mr Sherlock Holmes today died of natural causes in his Main office in Bolton at the age of 69 years. We all remember him as the Master of Security on Genesis. He founded the Holmes Security Services almost 50 years ago, by having dreamed of it while working in a tavern in Axis City in his earlier years. His first security job he had was when he was about 21 years old and it was in the Grand Dam Security office. Here he gathered experience and started a few years later his own Company, which today has more than 79 offices on Genesis and hires some 4200 Security agents and police officers. It all started in Bolton, where still today the Head Quarters of the Holmes Security Offices are situated. He had one of the most beautiful mansions of them all and the very best spot also, right on top of the Bolton Hill, overlooking Gloryville and the Oxalis/Megantic Islands.
Mr Holmes never got married and never had any descendants. His Security firm went into the hands of his loyal Co-workers and the Company will remain in the same name, Holmes Security Services.
May he rest in Peace and may we all remember him as the Peace seeker.

Forscher I now is about one 8th on the way towards the new solar system, passing through an unknown territory and discovering planets and moons in this sunless part of the universe. Some pictures were lately received by the Atlas Space Center, but not given to the public yet. I guess the government will have to claasify them first, before they can be viewed by the General Public.

That's it again, another update has been finished. Am I ever glad....lol. Hope you all liked it.
Next time on the same Nexis channel and the same Nexis time....hm....or something like this.....we get to see the amazing pictures that the Ganoga Kid sent to his base in Grand Dam and share his new discoveries, plus the biggest arrest ever made in Cedar Bay,29 people arrested. Also a look at Red poll, the Cottage county.

    Have a nice week now.2.gif

So is the new solar system ours or something your going to make up, you can tell, it's not like it's a big secret, or maybe it is, whatever. It's kinda bad that sherlock holmes died, he was cool. So whats the deal with Genesis, if it was real, are they more or less technically advanced then we are?

P.s. I think you should show Nexis downtown in a mini-update just for fun.

lots of replies already...I luv it!9.gif Thanks.

To get an answer to your question Leech10 , we have to wait for the info to be released by the Government first, it might take a few days or so.34.gif

screamomatic, I have no idea what the new solar system will be like or actually if it is ours or another one, which I doubt though. I don't even know if there will be life as we know it.- Compared to earthlings I think Nexians are more advanced . Just look at the LBST system, Imagefon and the space travel, but at the same time, they are less advanced, only having invented the subways a year ago and not much experience on Elevated Rails yet...etc.
It is hard to compare, because these are two different civilizations from two different worlds. I know that Nexians are less stupid than earthly humanoids concerning the environment and  also a lot less Greedy, what concerns money and power, while us humans have not discovered the disadvantage of all this yet.34.gif21.gif41.gif

I might drop in a few Nexis City Downtown pics in  a mini update soon2.gif

I really like all of the construction sites being shown and talked about throughout the CJ. Construction adds much more to a CJ since buildings in real life don't just sprout up from the ground. The realism of Nexis of Genesis is amazing!

Hey thanks to all for the comments and welcome to the newcomers, cod and palmgurl.1.gif

This is not really an update, but only some pictures of Nexis City Downtown and more of an interlude than an update, as asked for.
As you know, Nexis City is on an island in the big Nexis Lake, one of many of the Nexis Islands that Vallen bought in his earlier years. The city is on two medium tiles, because one would have been too small to make a big City of,and maybe even in the futur it will expand into other neighboring townships, as you can already see somehow on the southpart of the City.

    1aRegionNexisCity3.JPG

This is the Main part of the City, including the big downtown. Half of the City cannot really be build on, since it is an ancient Volcano and the big hill is still private property of the famous Vallen Nexis.

    1Nexis%20City-Fullview.jpg

Close up of the City Bay area at night.

    2Nexis%20City-1.jpg

The peninsula that hangs out from the City is where the Higher Society of downtown lives. Close to the Center of the City, but also on the quiet beaches of the peninsula, here live the CEO's and Managers, presidents etc in wealthy appartments and condos.

    3Nexis%20City2.jpg

This is the other side of the City, the northside, with the Rilian's Marina and again another wealthy sector.
Highway 2 that comes from Red Poll and connects to the western regions can be seen here going right thgrough downtown and even right over the little central lake.

    4Nexis%20CityDayView.jpg

    Downtown itself, almost the Center.

    5Nexis%20City-traffic.jpg

Again the City Bay on the Downtown's edge.

    6Nexis%20CityBay.jpg

This is the other part of the City, the second tile to the right on the first region picture up above. Here only a small part is considered as downtown and the rest is the town itself, residential and commercial sector.

    7Nexis-church.jpg

Intersection of the Highway 2 in the eastern half of downtown and Mainstreet, the busiest street in Nexis City.

    8Nexis-Highway.jpg

I'll be back soon with a real update.2.gif
