OMG, another update?

Here is another update and it is bigger than I thought,where again I spent several hours on creating it.
First I have to play, the easy and fun part of it, then take the pictures, then find them, class,edit and modify the pictures to be able to upload them....(the hard Part) and then write the story that comes with it, again a fun part, but not easy, because I have to remember what happened here before and attach the todays story to its past, so everything is connected and makes sense (hard and long part).

Worthwhile though, because your comments keep me going on and on.....lol Thank you all.

Ok, let's have a look at these townships. Two are newly formed, on the bottom right, Brettville and Nintendon,named after two of our celebrities and both on the Nexis River, which separates into two in New Sholes, just west of Atlas. Brett, our Hi-Rise Specialist , just like Ninten, our smaller construction Company owner, have bought parts of these townships some time ago for little amounts. Both of them decided then to open their own villages, and this time is the best time that they could have chosen, because of the massive invasion of immigrants from Uru seeking homes.
We also visit White Sands, just north of Three Towers and east of Gloryville, the Capitol. A part of it seems almost to belong to Gloryville, because it touches its borders and the real town is on the big Oxalis Island. Then even further north ,we have Oxalis/Megantic, where the air has some minor healing ingredients, and which today has become the Capitol of Amusement and Vacation. What Las Vegas is to the US on Earth, Oxalis is to Genesis. ( Sorry about not being able to show Glorville and Tenzel Outlet)

The same map as above from the same distance and angle, but as a transport information map. No highways in these parts of Genesis (red). Pyneville, just north of Nintendon, has just been opened for public access and a road is about to be build in the months ahead. Just where the name appears on the map, some plans for residential areas have been designed by Ninten's architects and he will be responsable for the construction of this new community.

Here is Brettville, built on Brett's Land and by Brett's Construction Company. Brett, now in the fifties advanced, has decided to slow down his life a little bit and get away from the *heavy stuff* with Hi-Risers, which his Company now continues on its own. Brett has come a long way, if we remember his first job in Grand Dam,when he took care of the waterpumps there.
Brettville was somthing like a dream he had, to start a village of his own.

Of course Brettville has far from what we call a downtown, but growing steadily , it might have a more impressive one in a few years. This is one place where Dr Evel did not build one of his Starbucks yet. Brett has already approached the Regional Administration Office in Gloryville with a plan to have a railway system reach his village in the near future.

Beautiful White Sands is on our next list. The town itself is on the big Oxalis Island, where also the Megantic Mountain further north is, but a part. mostly industrial has become somehow attached to the Capitol of Gloryville, as we will easily see and understand why, when we get to see Gloryville, who is about to swallow all its neighbors.
White Sands is so called because of the large strip of natural white sandy beaches on the Mainland and in the Bay, light greenish in colour. Also White Sands is the only connection to Oxalis/Megantic, which makes it very interesting to attrack tourists from the Capitol City,and not being far from there.

The industrial Park of White Sands is almost like the industrial park of Gloryville. Very few Industries in Gloryville still exist. I think, only Slayer Inc is the sole survivor in the Capitol that is still allowed by law to manufacture within the city's limit.

Just like Brett, Ninten once bought some land in this township and had a similar dream of building his own village, since for him City-planning is only a small part of his Construction Company. Nintendon, so called, is on the river delta of the Nexis River, that comes from the Nexis Islands. Here it meets the salty sea.
It was started a little bit before Brettville and therefore is a little bigger too.

The Middle of the Town is slowly changing already and newer and bigger businesses are moving in.

The harbour, only small in size and only to have a connection by the waterways to Gloryville and Tenzel Outlet, is further away from the town and was constructed near the futur industrial park, where Ninten already has one of his business branches installed.

Nintendon is on the edge of the Nexis River's Abyss, one of the deepest under sea-level places on Genesis. Here the lands cut off and falls deep into the sea to the depth of eternal darkness. The Peninsula just beside Nintendon used to be a volcano, scientists say, but now dead for many thousand of years.

Oxalis with the Megantic Mountain. Here scientists and biologists together with Miss Kitty Cat from Hawjklyn Valley have proven that some mountain vegetation produce pollen that gives the air a slight healing effect for many minor diseases. Research is still done here and the mountain itself is off-limits to the public.
Owned by many of our celebrities, this county has bloomed in the last years and it has become the Capitol for the tourists. Here you have Hotels and Motels of all classes and theaters, an underground shopping mall,casinos, touristic attractions and many other things. Last year, they say, the whole Genesis population came through here in less than 10 months, even if it was for a daily visit only.
The village of Oxalis was built on late Miss Barby's land, which she donated to the municipality in her testament. The other buildings were built on land that was sold by Mr Vegetable, Mr Night, Jim, Ninten, Sven, and Dr Evel. Some of them though still have kept parts of their land, others have built a Hotel or Tourist Attraction on it.

Main street on a regular week day is not so *Rush hour*, but a lot of people on foot, wandering the different attractions and stores, while breathing in the fresh mountain air. Here you can do and see about anything you can imagine, if you can effort it.

Mr Night from the StormyNight Law Offices in Grand Dam has a Hotel here now, so does Ninten, able to lodge almost 2000 guests in his Hotel. Brett couldn't help it, but he had to build the highest of them all, including a 5 star Restaurant on top of his tower. Besides three (Yes 3) Starbucks, Dr Evel has bought some Condos that he rents on a monthly or yearly basis. Mr Sven had a castle-type Hotel built, where he can lodge some 800 folks for a good amount of money and for those who want to spend some vacation time in a 17th century Castle replica. Reservations are made one year ahead.

The nightlife of Oxalis reveils that there is life even underground. A shopping mall was constructed under all these hotels and Casinos to save some space above for the bigger constructions.

From this view we can see the real village of Oxalis on the bottom of the picture, not hardly any tourists come here, since it is for residents only that work here.

Population: 1,669 permanent residents and more than 400,000 yearly visits.
Celebrities: Everyone, but only part-time.
Companies and Landmarks: Many,too many to mention, just look at the pictures and the description.
Jobs: 11,185 all in the touristic department from the Janitor and waitress to the doorman and the cleaning Lady and from the Dancer to the General Manager and Chef-Cook.

I was going to talk about and also show some pictures of the Opall landing, but the Federal Government confiscated my pictures for the moment. Until they will approve the publishing of these pictures, we just have to wait, I guess.
Three ships have landed on Opall now and all have already started working on it and having a closer look of this giants composants,taking samples, measuring etc.... Mr Otavio himself took a walk on the meteor yesterday and said that it was like walking on broken glass or crystals. Some tests are being done for the next 2 weeks and they all will go home to Uru and Joao Otavio will be glad to be back home on Genesis, after 1 full year of being absent. These 49 people will then study what they have gathered on Opall in the next years on Uru and maybe find something that could at least prevent Opall from destroying the whole Solaris System, even if it is impossible to safe Uru.

Other news: Clay Wallace, a little kid of 9 years, toady was brought to the General Hospital in Gloryville with multiple fractures. The kids was trying to break his fathers world record of speed-skiing at his age. Something that he couldn't handle yet.

Another kid today, Johan Stjern, won the Junior go-cart race Annual Event in Axis City, at the age of 8 years old and the youngest of all participants. It was on Page one of the Axis Newspaper.
Dr Evel, still believed to be seriously sick,seems to be living full-time now in Oxalis, some folks say. Probably because the air has some kind of healing effects on some minor diseases. Let's hope the best for him.
On Uru the skies are slowing changing the colour, they are starting to receive the solaris rays through the dust particles of Opall and the skies turn bright rusty ornage in the late afternoon and evening hours, more and more everyday. Opall is now only an estimated 29 years from Uru.

That was it again....ouf, now I am tired of typing again...lol.
The next time we go to Syris, a new township and Axis Harbour, which has changed also. At last the former harbour land is put to good use by the Sirius Group and also by Sven,who bought half of the dying harbour.

Interesting. Oxalis actualy looks like some Atlantic City or even Niagara Falls! This one of the most scenic places you created, yet you made some tourist trap aspect to it. Still the city looks awesome despite my critic (wich is not really one ). BTW you just woken (sorry for my english!) some really good souvenirs from the road trips down south with my family when I was a kid. For those who may have a different view of south, everything south of Ogunquit can be considered has going far away.

That building is a composite of other stock buildings and Bats.  The part with the two towers is one of Dusktroopers buildings, i think a oil headquaters, The lower buildings are the convention center, the gutenham (sp?) museum, and other stock buildings.  The tall building sticking out is another Maxis building. the world is avaliable on the STEX as a part.  Hope this helps you.

Yeah, Oxalis/Megantic does look like Niagra Falls - a big, tourist area around part the mountain and the houses of the people who live there in a different part of the town.

I also like how we got to see the first views of Brettville and Nintendon as towns.

Good thing Joao and his team landed on Opall safely. I hope Opall doesn't destroy the whole Solaris system... then... we'd all...

Now, concerning these buildings on Uru that you are interested in, DragonAnime, I cannot upload them, simply because they are not mine and I cannot remember where they come from, because it has been quite awhile ago.

The Blue Pyramid building, I have searched lately for someone that wanted it badly too, and I couldn't even find it in my folders, because I don't remember their names. In the game when I query them,these lots don't have a name at all, so that doesn't help either.

If by any chance I will find them again in my 6000+ lots/BATs, I will announce it here in this thread and then you just pm me with your e-mail and I will send a copy.

 

I will have to open every and each .lot file with the reader to see what it is, and that will take a lot of time.

And Maranello575, that isnt the Shanghai World Trade Center it is the Kingdom centre available at www.insims.de . Its a german site but it is really easy to navigate, you'll find BAT along the left side of the home page just click that and then find parks and landmarks and scroll through till you find it. Hope this helps.

Leech10, in the next update, probably on Monday or Tuesday, there will be some discussion about the newly found Solar System.

Concerning Opall destroying the whole Solaris system: Well you see, when a Meteor of that size hits and takes away a planet out of a Solar System,the whole balancing of that system might be disturbed and this is what many scientists are trying to figure out on Uru, what the possibilities are, if Uru disappears from this system.

So, actually, no one really knows for sure, but a lot of possiblities one must be aware of.

 

Here is a picture of the last position of Opall. The Dust cloud that escorts the Giant Meteor is already in between Solaris and Uru and therefore giving a reddish colored  effect of the Sun. This of course cannot be seen from Genesis at all, simply because the meteor is beyond Solaris from the Genesis view.

If I remember correctly Uru was slightly smaller or similar in size to Earth, so it won't really effect any other planets very much when it is destroyed. If any planet would change the system if it was destroyed it woul be Kdorn, though the laws of gravity may be different here if their gold is different than the gold on Earth.

Wasn't Corus the planet that only showed up at certain times, or was that Vetro? The picture of Opall is very nice, I wonder what it looks like if you were inside that cloud of dust.

 

That's what I tought also. I was not sure wether it was verto or Corus. That's why I asked it to. But thinking of it it may be that verto is usualy hidden behind Corus while Corus is rarely seen from Uru. Uhmm . . . I'm all mixed up !

Yes, it's Corus that is rarely seen from Uru while Verto is hidden behind Corus. However, missing from your map are the dead planet Novabyss and the planet that the route from the LBST hit when it was malfunctioning.
