That was a really fascinating change to the banner right there! I really love its simplicity and the music that goes with it! Really magnificent indeed -- I hope the banner will change appropriate to the season (i.e. falling leaves for the autumn, Easter bunnies for the spring, etc.) -- thanks, Dirk!

Of course there is the small outstanding matter of what the Simtropolis banner will revert to after the trixies...

Will we have colour?

Will it be grayscale?

Will the wrecking ball be back?

Will more buildings be gone, while we have been distracted with trixiemania?

Will it have a cute clickable singing llama?

Only Dirk knows.  And he's not telling.  The design may reside in Dirk's brain and Dirk's brain only.  Or Duke's (supersize) brain.... have you ever wondered at the similarity of their names?    (Fraternal twins, separated at birth?)  OR, will Dirk commission the banner, perhaps choosing a well known designer, or going with an up and coming young artisan?  If so, they have been sworn to a secrecy so commanding that they are afraid to even post.  They are afraid to step outside their homes into the real world for fear of slipping.  Perchance Dirk will have five banners ready and waiting.  On The Day, he will arise and choose one, and only one...ah well, it is not for us mere mortals to influence or hasten the process.

Goes back to trying to figure out how to win the Loyal Lurker Trixie.

Pure coincidence, I assure you. Dirk's name (so he says) stems from "Dirk Dashing" an imaginary superhero character he came up with as a kid (though who knows where that then came from). My name stems from Duke Nukem, the video game character.

Besides, your separated at birth story has the critical flaw that he's about 10 years older than me, and that he's Asian while I'm Italian. So there's pretty much zero chance we're even distantly related.

Bear in mind a couple things here:

1) the game everyone Remembers, Duke Nukem 3D, may date back to 1996, but there have been other games released since then. However, unless you count the XBL port of Duke Nukem 3D, nothing new has come out in the series since 2003.

2) I first came up with that username when creating an account on AOL way back in 1997. It's just kinda stuck and it's the username I've used pretty much everywhere since.

...also, it's "Hail to the king, baby!", not "I'm the king". That, along with a few other of Duke's one-liners in that game, was ripped off directly from Army of Darkness. Actually, that game has way too many pop culture references/homages/ripoffs and easter eggs to count. The developers really went nuts with 'em.
