Wow, well done once again, I love the old downtown and reclamation projects. The storyline is awesome, well thought through, and long-winded 2.gif as always, all in all a 10/10, even with the brown box. 3.gif

    molowakuannouncement.jpg

I have two announcements to make:

My City Journal, Molowaku Island has been recently reviewed by nihonkaranws. If you are interested to read his take on my City Journal, please click here for more details (the review is close to the end of the page)

Due to a high volume of comments (and my possible replies), I will split my next update into three: first for my replies, second for my teaser, and third for the real update (due by around the first or second week of December -- stay tuned!)

    molowakureplies2.jpg

San Pablo, the Miracle City, is something that I have not expected to grow and survive for a long time. The city, for me, is a huge diorama of what I can do with SimCity 4 in almost all grown content (minimum plopping), and it's something I can be proud of. Being the largest city in Molowaku Island so far, but not the capital, San Pablo is a dream city for me that I never expect to build because it is something I really like doing -- making a brand new downtown that really suits with the city's dynamic growth.

And now, for my replies to your comments:

travis 5: Well, you got Update 5 below, but thanks for your comment on Update 4! I hope you really did enjoy it!

ac94: Andrew, sure that my CJ has improved a lot, but it is actually the beginning of a longer, more exciting journey. San Pablo is just one of my first "masterpiece"-type cities that I really created using my own imagination, with no city maps being copied from. I will continue working with Molowaku Island, no matter what kind of problems I get along the way. By the way, I'll just ignore the props problem and move on by making more interesting cities (without the original Maxis stuff, of course). There's no region shot I can release to anyone just yet, but, as soon as I am halfway done with Molowaku Island, I'll show you the western half of the island before I continue on with the eastern part. The brown boxes? Yah, those are just the trees I used (anyways, that has been removed). And yes, the HK buildings really look swell in my city too! 9.gif

swat-medic: Thanks for your wonderful comments, Jake! I really appreciate them, and I know that I continue to improve Molowaku, making it a wonderful CJ. It is just the start of a long-term journey, and I hope you enjoy the rest of the cities I continue to make!

jjc12321: Thanks for your comment! Never mind the brown boxes; those are just the streetscape trees that I just need to press the street (or road) button again to make the trees appear. Apparently, that could be also a cause of my Maxis props to disappear, but anyways, I'll just ignore the old Maxis buildings and continue making my city look brilliant. Too much custom contents? Nah, that's just a trickle of so many custom contents (and props) that I can get from both Simtropolis and SC4 Devotion -- in fact, there are some custom content buildings that require at least ten (yes, 10) dependencies to make them work, and I don't get them! I just like writing unique and close-to-factual information for each of my cities, and it's something I love doing (be it prepared or spontaneous).

victor valdes: Thanks, Victor, my brother! I believe that Molowaku gets better and better with every update, and I believe that I just don't make cities for nothing -- I just love making them because it's one of my passions. San Pablo is getting more congested? I don't think so -- it's just your imagination at work! 3.gif

jacqulina: Thanks, Jacky! Yes, growth is really on the way, and it just keeps on going every single time! Right now, I am just profiling towns, but, I notice that with every update, my region grows. I just know how to do it, it's just that I do things my way! 9.gif

un1: YOU again? Hehehe... Thanks, un for your observation! Yeah, the dependency is just some trees from another streetscape mod, and I'm happy that you liked my update!

philscafe: Is that right, Phil? I just want simplicity and honesty in my CJ, and it's something that I just love doing -- detailed explanations, replying to the best I can, even helping out other people in making them as well. It really takes more than just posting pictures to make a great CJ; it's a combination of passion, love, and determination that can really make a City Journal a great one (if not excellent). Yes, pictures could also bring a great impact to the CJ's personality, but, I tend to combine both pictures and text and blend them smoothly to produce a greater impact. On the CJ proper, why thanks a lot on your comments -- yes, the roundabouts look awesome and fantastic, and I really like the overall layout of the city. Albeit complicated, it's just something I like to do -- it took me around a week to make that city to where it is.

stnggri: Why thank you, my friend! You mean the church with the boulevard on my banner pic? Well, you can see the real pic on Update 4, Paseo del Mar. Click here for more details, and you will see that exact same picture there.

theirishnintendonerd: Thanks, Trevor! I just love making that city, and I think that the airport looks fantastic as well. By the way, that airport is slated for expansion soon -- maybe on the next few updates, I'll put that as a Recent Development!

pcguy14: Thanks, Stephen. I really will continue making this CJ with all the support I get, and I just love making it all the way through.

nihonkaranws: I've read your review for my CJ, and I thank you for all your wonderful comments and encouragement you made to make my CJ look better all the time! I'm so grateful for someone else to review my CJ by someone I trust as a friend, and it's amazing that you pointed out some of my CJ's strengths and ways to improve and expand my CJ capabilities. Update-wise, the little inlets, eh? I call those channels funneling out from a river bed -- hehehe... I also like that book-shaped library (availabe at the STEX), and seriously about the seawall? I just like to add the seawalls to the new Downtown to add more flavor! 9.gif

ids2: Why thanks for your complements, my friend! The reclamation looks pretty and decent, in my opinion; the airport looks fantastic albeit small; and sure, I can teach you with the one-way roads because it's actually easy to lay them out if you know your road plans pretty well. If you want to talk about the one-way road techniques, just PM me.

rushman5: Awwwww, thanks, Sean! It's my pleasure to really make this CJ. I've noticed that in five updates, I've gone through a lot of comments -- complements, constructive criticisms, suggestions -- all of those I took and apply somehow on my next cities, and sure, I've used many of them to make my upcoming cities look better. Well, on becoming a master of the CJ, it's actually just the beginning of a longer, more stable relationship here on ST, especially with my CJ growing along the way -- it really takes more than just pictures, times, and words to express what a CJ is really all about; it takes compassion, love, and dedication to making a CJ interesting and appealing, and I just don't know for myself if ever I've reached to a lot of people with my CJ, but so far, I think it's working really well. Thanks also for your comments on the greenery combination with the large, medium, and small houses; it took me some time to find a great combination, and it appears to be attractive!

noypi07: Salamat, pare! Pinagkakaingatan ko itong CJ -- ito talaga ang nagbibigay-saya sa buhay ko pag ako'y malungkot... hehehe (Translation: thanks, my friend! This is one CJ that I really treasure because this gives me happiness in my life when I feel lonely and downtrotted.) Oh yes, that's true, bro -- I just really don't know what are some "hidden" dependencies from the SFBT streetscape mod, and it just frustrates me sometimes.

simhottoddy: Why thank you, Todd, for the comments! I just love Cordelia Village -- it's just a small, enclosed community with bike lanes in the middle of it to allow bikes to go through the village without passing by the long streets (bypassing). Well, sure the dates don't match each other, but, the main point is this: if ever those buildings existed in the 18th or 19th century, what kinds of buildings and/or businesses we could have in the first place? Yeah, I really use my imagination to let others think of what life could be like if it happened earlier in our lifetime.

psycho_teddy: Thank you for your comments! Yeah, I really think that I made a lot of progress with my CJ, and that so many people are now watching Molowaku Island frequently because I think it is just a unique CJ that I really treasure. Not to worry -- I really strive to make every town and city update I create as fresh, unique, and interesting as possible because it's something I love doing.

spore415: Why thanks a lot! I think that San Pablo -- and the rest of Molowaku Island, is both interesting and fun to read at the same time, and it is something I like doing because I want to express my thoughts and feelings from playing SC4. Yes, the highways are great that I really love how they connect with each other, and it blends well with the ever-growing city that I love making San Pablo to the way it is today.

deathtopumpkins: Awwwww, pumpkins! I just like making San Pablo that it went really successful because I made it into a great city where people have all the basic needs (utilities, roads, schools, hospitals), and I really made them accessible for everybody. Imagine -- it took me around 4 days to make that city into where it is now, and I just love every moment of it because I really enjoy making it. It's quite a large city, but, it's something managable and something I enjoyed working. Nah, it's not too much in one update (maybe it's the number of pictures that made you think it's too much) because I believe that I strive to make each CJ interesting and fun to read. I love everything about San Pablo, and I hope you enjoyed it so much as I did! California Pizza Kitchen and Sicilian??? OMG, that's my real favorite pizza there -- makes me wanna go to Corte Madera or San Francisco to have one! With the Victorian Home at US$75,000? Let me set up an appointment with you for that!

blondetwiggy: Thanks, twiggy! Well, yeah, I suddenly forgot to change my sub-heading for my updat (hehehe) -- I fixed it anyways! Anyhow, with San Pablo, the parks in the middle of the one way roads (boulevards) are thanks to Marrast's Avenue Divider set, available at the ST Exchange (click here for more details) wherein you have seen that in Paseo del Mar as well. The Marrast Avenue Divider set has the following: 2x1 avenue barrier, 3x1 avenue divider, 2x1 avenue end piece, and 1x1 divider bus stop, and you can use them according to the amount of space you got to make great boulevards. Never mind the brown boxes; those are just the missing dependencies that has been discussed by noypi07 above -- some of the streetscape mods have "hidden" dependencies that I am not fully aware of. The little houses on the fourth pic to the end (next to the white tall apartments) are British cottage houses available at the ST Exchange (click here for more details) wherein those are 1x1 lots, coming in 4 colors with the same design. I notice that you are observant with the various styles I use to make the city, and I am more than happy to give you every detail you might want to ask so that you can add them to your Tierra de la Oscuridad! 9.gif

porter66083: Thanks, Jacob! There are so many pictures I provided for you, and I hope you enjoyed them all! 9.gif

sc4 meister: Thanks a lot, meister! That Downtown switch was a huge thing that I did because I knew that San Pablo would become a great city in Molowaku, and the moving of Downtown was an unbelievable thing for me because it gave me a test of how I will reuse my land all over again that I have developed already. Story being long-winded and well thought through? Sure, I made the storyline unique and connected again to the history of Molowaku Island! I'm just amazed on how far I went with San Pablo, and it's just incredible to see that city grow!

sim1234: Why thank you for the comments, Nick! I really do appreciate them all... the city's history and storyline is again original, the city itself (in my opinion) looks brilliant, and everything blends through! The airport, albeit small, just fits well with the city because I believe that the regional feel for the airport just blends well with the growing San Pablo.

yellowguy88: Thanks for your comment, my friend! All the storylines I made are original, in my opinion, and each one of them comes from my imagination. I capture close to reality events and blend them along in my city stories, and I think that has been effective for me.

qinbenjiaren: I believe I really did those effectively, and thank you for your wonderful comments! Yeah, most of the skyscrapers you saw were grown, not plopped (as many would imagine), and I let them grow continuously until I saw the desired results. I believe that the roads were also great as well -- it really takes extensive planning, visioning the future of your city, and looking at the potential traffic flow that needs to be implemented to create such road styles.

greekman: I know, greek! My CJ has been coming along pretty well (although my updates come in inconsistently due to real-life matters), but so far, yeah -- my city and region continues to grow unprecedentedly! If ever AFDES has plans to hold a conference in Molowaku Island, I will be preparing such accordingly because it really takes me a long time to make a city as successful as San Pablo, and it is something I really love doing: making great SC4 cities, along with great storylines! The new Downtown skyline looks really great, albeit in the middle of an island too! 3.gif Thanks also for your continued support on my CJ as well!

hawkeye9: Oh yeah? Seriously? Well, that's just actually the beginning of a long-term project of mine for SimCity 4 that you might want to continue watching every step of my CJ's way -- its growth and demise, its triumphs and defeats, its developments and downfalls -- and I really have a lot of time in the world to make those stories that I hope you will enjoy! My history for this CJ is really rich and diverse, in my opinion, and I really try to make it close to reality (and even challenge you to think in the past as well). The story is set in the 18th and 19th centuries, and my train of thought is this: if ever businesses that exist today existed then, what kinds of technology we could have potentially created today? It's a challenge that I really enjoy doing so far, and I really love every moment of it! 9.gif Also, I thank you for your support for my CJ -- I'll be looking forward to your next replies too!

tv-vcr: Well, sure, my update is REALLY epic -- to the point that I really gave everything I got because it is something I just love doing! By the way, is the TLC you referring to is "total loving care"? If yes, how sweet of you... really (just makes me want to cry for joy) because this CJ is slowly being ingrained as a part of my life that I will continue working until I just say "it is finished". But, we are still at the start of a long-term journey that I hope that you will continue to enjoy. SC4, for me, is like my girlfriend (no kidding) -- she just continues guiding me in making great cities, and I just let my imagination go to wherever she wants to go! 9.gif Also, I never got to expect that this CJ will be really popular because of the number of replies I get, but as I move on with every update, I get more and more replies -- and it tells me that my thoughts for my CJ is working really well. Thanks a lot, Chris! 9.gif

chadisangry: Thanks, Chad! The hotels are usually the tall towers that are seen in Downtown and some of the middle-sized, multi-windowed buildings.

NOTE: This is the end of the first part of two. The teaser will be the next part below. Keep reading if you want to!

    molowakudevelopments2.jpg

This time around, I will try to focus on making a little teaser that will segway to the next update.

Remember the first two airports I made in Molowaku Island using custom-made runways and custom-built terminals:

    sanpabloairport_1.jpg

    San Pablo Regional Airport

    airport_2.jpg

    Molowaku International Airport, Ocean View

Well, I made an entirely new airport, but, I just want to give you two of the best shots of it so that you can give yourself some thought on what the next update will be all about.

    airport_23.jpg

    airport_21.jpg

Enjoy those two pictures! The next update will be done as soon as possible. Have a Happy and safe Thanksgiving to you and your family!

heh, yeah it was just the number of pictures.

And you know I never actually have had one of their pizzas from the actual restaurant? I just but the frozen ones at the grocery store! 9.gif We do have one here though, downtown in the one of the malls.

    That's a big airport... 6.gif

Looks like you've got a runway texture glitch though. 2.gif

I'm soooo jelous of your airports. Mine can never be that good. You are gifted in the airport building business. Those terminal layouts are fantastic, as well as the Airport neighborhood adjacent to the RHW bypassing the airport. Fantastic work!

this is really a great update for your CJ brother...really like it...and i can say that you are a very high experience person to get to built a airport that big and beautiful...most of them are built in a very good way like your terminals and the runways..by the way i can't get to build a airport that big and beautiful..lol...

i can see that normally a big lot endings up to be looking bulky...but yours are very well done....and for a airport that size..it doesnt look bulky..it looks beautiful...and i really love the hotels too...

That's a very intriguing airport you've built, obviously not using the SWAP lots cause you have the nicer looking terminals lol.

I'll look at the rest of your island in the morning after a long sleep since its 2 in the AM for me right now. G'night and great job.

Wow, what a nice airport! The runway is not in real world scale though, but real world scale is space intensive, so it is not practical to do that... Again, nice job pare!

gonna let you know a few things

    1) almost everyone only says its good for the hell of it and because they just about have too.

    2) it isn't great and its not a 10/10 for your airport the layout isn't that great and for an airport that big with that many airplanes you would have atleast 5 or 6 run ways and alot more hangars.

i do think that some of your previous pictures although do look good and you have a lot of the maxis buildings that others rarely have which looks good. so ye.
