 Well i've been doodling with some design programs and came up with this. I have no idea what it will be. Maybe a garage or Mars equivalent?

Ignore the crosshatch as that arises from a pixel problem in max i think. It is untextured and about a quarter of the modelling is finished. The actual building (excluding the spheres on top) is only made of 3 blocks. I took a leaf out of Simfox's book and decided to play around with poly modelling and its actually extremely useful and considerably easier to get better results. 

As usual, comments are appreciated.

Wow, id be great if you could at something for the bottom, but it looks like a realistic mars garage!

    What do you guys want to see on the front? I.e. junk like parts of ships. Post pictures here and ill make em. I've started on 5 other buildings. Same kind of style. They look a lot like buildings off of the planet Tatooine off of Star Wars. Only because i liked the look of the buildings though (so don't go thinking ill make a whole architectural archive of buildings for each planet although i may make some naboo buildings).

    Sorry for the double post but I have something I believe is worthy of a seperate post: It is a cloud seeder perfect for terraforming Mars. It is independent of the design style being used on the previous 6 buildings im working on. Hope you like it:

    Very detailed! Simmars does need ALOT more factories and works. So you can be in that part of BATing. If make more, Simmars can now ahave an industrail complex now. But if you have read what type of buidling style you have build. It has to be blocky and has to last in Mars because of sandstroms and all that.

    Wow! Very nice modeling. Great detail. Can I ask what settings you're using for your glass? I'm having a helluva time getting glass to show up properly in the export, but I haven't given up yet.

    Oh, by the way, does anyone know what happened to the SimMars prop pack - the link in the forum seems to be broken. Perhaps you would consider sharing some of your "junk"?

    Don't forget to minimize the amount of glass in buildings due to the vacuum simply ripping the glass out of it's socket.

    Okay I haven't been too active recently because of upcoming exams but that'll change come summer.

    Here's something I cooked up in a tiny bit of free time:

    It's meant to be a SimMars diner or something to that effect?

    nice BATs! for the last one I would removed the ground plane and render sign and BAT spereately (BAT with custom LODs to allow better Lotting). I assume you will fill the red with a texture and add windows?

    What's the status of your previous BATs?

    Well for the last one the concrete floor and the sign are only in the scene to show the overall look but yes when i export it and when its finished I will remove the concrete and make the sign a prop. The red texture is actually very rough and has quite a heavy bump map attached to it: I know it looks very temporary because the shadows are dodgy (anyone know why?) but when I get the shadows fixed the red texture will look a lot better. I don't think i'll have much for release until August when I have a very long holiday before uni so expect a lot to come out then. I have a teaser: It's an arcology style government building. It's not exactly in the style of SimMars but it's pretty futuristic.. SimMars embassy in Sim City?

    (With regard to the windows on the diner, do you reckon it should have windows? I think the more windows a BAT has on Mars the higher the wealth would be so an absence of windows makes it look more down and out if you get what I mean but if you all reckon windows would look better then I'll add some windows)

    I like it with no windows, but I'ld add some flashy lighting like a panel next to the door and maybe a neon runner around part of the top. Break up the wall a bit with a "Customer Parking Only" sign (or paste it onto the red base texture to make it look painted on).

    I think the other would make a fine base for a commercial skyscraper if done in a more Martian palette. Could you cover the entire staircase and promenade with a canopy?
