I like the teaser. Your use of private custom-made lots really adds to the feel of the city. I like the urban theme of it.

Can't tell where the textures are.

Lastly, I'd say that I wouldn't mind living in Tyne. It looks like a pedestrian-friendly place.

Wow, didn't know you had a new CJ. But this looks great as did the Republic of Bevelle. I still like all the sidewalk textures you have and the extensive use of parks. I was wondering with the great textures you use with your roads in urban areas, if you have problems in rural areas? That's something that has stopped me from d/ling such mods.

KingTitan: Thanks, man! Unfortunately, I won't be elaborating on that area for awhile.

marco1771: I'll try; more waterfront shots are featured in this update!

Schulmanator: It's a shame some real-world cities can't be as creative as some of the cities featured on this site. We can only hope...

un1: Well, that's quite a compliment! I admit I sometimes take hours looking for custom content on the STEX and LEX.

ky72x: I got the inspiration for making those lots thanks to my new position at my job as a receiving clerk. My inspiration for the Riverwalk is from the MD Antigone, by Badsim over on SC4D. All of my custom lotting came from looking at his work and twisting to suit my needs. If you haven't read it yet, I highly recommend it; it's quite a sight! Thanks for commenting!

jacqulina: Thanks, Jacky; I hope you're "amazed" again by the next update!

Sarajevo-City: I think it reminds you of London because of the Eye; it is the BA Eye in London. The walls are actually a canal set created by jeronij. The walls featured in the first pics of the CJ are made by Mas71. Both can be found on the LEX at SC4D. Thanks for reading!

Amerikaner: You are correct; the canal walls under the eye are added props to the lot and the base texture underneath was deleted in iLive's Reader so that the texture didn't show through. Glad you're enjoying my new CJ as well!

penguin007: Thanks a lot, Will! I tried starting where I left off last and hopefully improving on it. Hope to see you again!

Patricius Maximus: Wow, never thought I'd get such a response to my lotting. I'd like to live in Tyne as well, but I'm stuck living here at the Jersey Shore!

rjm35: Thanks, friend; I hope I can deliver!

aleking: Thanks, man! I admit I'm still rusty after my hiatus, but I'll keep at it!

dfnva: Good to see you back! I have grown partial to those sidewalk textures. I'm not sure if the mod affects rural areas; I'll experiment when I have time and let you know.

    Update 2- Heart and Soul

Welcome to the second update of The Source! This update will show different areas of recreation for the citizens of Tyne. Here we go...

Wow, nice job Dsrwhat316! Another amazing update!

I think you did a fantastic job with the last moasic! Seeing the London Eye and then the river and then the CBD, or Tyne as you call it.

Rest assured, I will be back. You've got me hooked! 9.gif

Nice riverside area with the parks and stadiums. I also like the dam which separates ploppable water from actual water.

Consistent quality work, thats what I love to see and your really delivers. Great look to your city and great job over all!

From an aesthetic standpoint I would like ask something. Do you resize you images in the program or when you upload them on imageshack or a like site. If you do it in a program (which I recommend), try re-sampling rather than re-sizing. It tends to get rid of a lot of the grittiness of details, and keep edges smooth and attractive. Your city is full of little details and I hate to see them obscured.

    Keep up the good work,

    -Todd

Awesome update there the dam looks awesome. Also I love the skyscrapers youve used and the same sidewalk texture everywhere looks awesome. btw Shingure the dam is part of MAS71's set of pond set on the LEX.

For some reason, picture quality seems to be a little gritty on your update pics, but crystal clear on your teasers.

Two thumbs way up for your job making the City Park. 4.gif And it looks like you've started to make some custom avenue pieces, as well! There's plenty of different ways you can customize them, thanks to their medians. Nice line of trees along the river in the teaser, I really like that look.

haljackey: Wow, thanks for such high praise! Good to see you are ready for another update!

dfnva: Thanks, Dan! Actually, the water on both levels of the dam are ploppable; jeronij's Urban Canals on top, Mas71's River Kit on the bottom.

panthersimcity4: Good to see I'm able to draw new posters here; thanks, man!

SimHoTToDDy: I actually do resample my pics, but the reason why it looks so gritty is because I seem to overuse the sharpen tool. The setting works fine for regular pics, but when I use the same setting for mosaics, it tends to make them a bit gritty. Your post helped me figure that out and now I'll try and remedy this. Thanks for your honest posting!

Shingure: It is part of Mas71's Riverkit found on SC4 Devotion. Glad you like!

penguin007: Thanks, Will! It's a small touch, but I'm glad to see it get noticed!

un1: The canals are made by jeronij over on SC4D. The flora add-on is also found on SC4D. Thanks for reading!

ky72x: As I noted above, I misjudged my settings for my mosaic shots. The city park was my first fully-custom park. It is actually made up of 4 big pieces put together. The avenue pieces will be numerous in the city, just as a change of pace. I've always been disappointed in the lack of trees in RL cities and in some CJs, so I made sure to have plenty in Tyne. Thanks for dropping by, Kyle!

fabsies55: Thanks, my friend! That part of the Riverwalk with the Eye is based loosely off of London.

penguin007: Well, a lot of the skyscrapers shown are made by illTonkso, whose work is from London. This city is meant to have a modern, clean look to it. I'm glad you like it, Will!

    Update 3- Open House

More recreational and work areas will be shown in this update, as well as the first residential neighborhood showcased. These shots are still rough drafts, so they may change in time:

    Once again, nice update!

I like the rail station in the first pic and that building at the bottom of the second. It looks like you're getting good use out of the SAM in the third photo.

    Teaser

I'm not ignoring your replies; they are greatly appreciated. I'll answer them when I update on Tuesday. Just wanted to show a new area I've been working on:

I've had the Beta version of the FAR for awhile, but haven't shown any examples of it until now. The guys working on this project are geniuses; I'm not worthy...

Very nice LE work indeed! I really like the open look of all the plazas and the canals. Great details as well. I also see that you like to transit enable parking lots, etc. One thing I dislike about most Maxis and custom BATs are all the parking lots that end up having no street access. Its also nice to see one of my own lots in your city! Keep up the good work and I very much look forward to seeing more from you!
