    Wow, great suburban pic!

About the highway curve pic, have you thought about using the highway smooth curve pieces? Looks like you could also fit in some road smooth curves as well. Oh, and do you always have the grid on? 3.gif

Congrats on your Warm Fuzzy, something I bet you didn't expect.

    Best,

Nice! Great suburbs, and busy highway. Though are you using an outdated version of the HRS, or did you modify it yourself? It's supposed to have shoulders...

seems to be a lot of fire breaking out in you city i think you should spend a few billion dollars on safety (speaking real life terms)

but your city seems to be pretty cool, i see the size of your city has grown a fair but i think you should start getting more areas of medium density apartments and stuff around more, also with your suburbs layout could be better but it still alright... keep up the good work.

Wow, I missed a lot of your CJ since I left on hiatus. There's so much to catch up on, I don't even know where to start.

The city of York looks great. You have a natural ability of making realistic looking downtowns. I can't believe how much suburban expansion has been going on, the city is growing at an incredible pace! Again, great work with downtown Fairfax, I love your use of historical and modern buildings. The construction that has been going on in downtown Halifax really adds a lot to the city. What an incredible skyline. Great work on all your college campuses too, I always have troubles making college campuses. I love the towns of Harrison and West Canterbury.

Fire!? I can't believe there was a fire! It's nice to see how well the city handled such a tragedy. What a classy move by the city to build those two huge memorials.

Great work on the teasers of the suburbs.

You have done a great job of developing your region. I love what you have done. Whether you decided to keep with the current terrain or switch to the map with the bay, I'll keep following your work. Great job, and congrats on winning a Trixie!

Update 1- Welcome to the City of Champions!

    overview1ht2.jpg

Welcome to the heart of the city. The Financial District is one of the most important in the world and ranks up aginst other famous cities like Boston and New York. The tallest building is the AIG Tower in the middle of the picture:

    downtown1mj5.jpg

Before you get to see more of Halifax, we have to go through some history first. Halifax was founed by John Horton in the 19th century. Horton build a new town where the current downtown stands. Old Town was built near Fort Halifax. Fort Halifax was used during the War of 1812 when the Americans and the French battled for control of the Columbia River. To this day Fort Halifax brings in over 600,000 people!

    forthalifaxdd9.jpg

Back in Downtown, Horton Plaza (a mall) was built in the 1970s when Downtown started to decay as people moved to the burbs. The Center City Development Corporation was credited with bring new people and buisness back into downtown! Horton Plaza was designed by world renouned Christoper L. Young.

    hortonplazaji9.jpg

Lester B. Sullivan was the architect of this building which is home to the Halifax Symphony. The building is named after him, Sullivan Hall. Once a year the building is converted to a

hockey rink. It was used in a few Winter Classics from the NHL.

    halifaxhallwl3.jpg

City Hall is one of the most famous City Hall's in the world! The architecture is just stunning. It was voted the Best City Hall In America 5 times in a row! City Hall Park is a peaceful place.

    cityhallpl5.jpg

Memorial Square is a tribute to those who have falllen in America's past conflicts. It's one of the most beautiful monuments in the Midwest.

    memorialsquareaa0.jpg

An estimated 3,500 thousand live in the Chinatown District. Chinatown's main street is always crowded with people. You can find people disscusing American and Chinese politics, sports as well of other hot topics.

    chinatownsi7.jpg

Sometimes Chinatown is known as the South End but what;s at the North End? The Italians!

Yes the North End is home to some 5,000 Italian immigrants. the North End is also called Little Italy but most of the city likes the North End more. Arrivederci! Arrivederci!

    northendbq3.jpg

Tracks cross the north End which makes this part of town feel like Chicago or New York:

    northend2kj3.jpg

Another view of the North End where there are so many great Italian resturants! It's a really cool looking part of town.

    northend3fm2.jpg

Not every place in Halifax is beautiful like te North End or Downtown. One of the worst is Midtown which has being decaying for years. It's a neglected area where crime is risging all the time. It's considerd the worst part of town.Midtown is also home to some 1,300 Russians who are trying to reconstruct their neighborhood.

    midtowntb7.jpg

    midtown2ka5.jpg

    The Downtown Freeway:

    freewaynv4.jpg

Uptown is home to some 3,000 Greeks. This area will also see a change like Midtown. The large building is the site of the major news mnetwork in Halifax. Many perfer to call it Uptown instead of Greektown but everyone just going there to enjoy some great Greek food! Opa!

    uptownzv5.jpg

Once again back in downtown, the Waterfront is one of the best in the world. The city decided to build a path for joggers and for people on bikes. It's a favorite recreational area for the city as you can find famlies having a nice Sunday picnic or bicyclists enjoying the shady paths.

One day the city plans to extend The Promenade to the Sports Complex/University area.

    waterfrontyr7.jpg

The I-5 Bridge which is also packed with commuters coming in or out of Downtown.

    i5bridgedl5.jpg

The City is planning to build a new park that will have a ferris wheel as well a paths for joggers, ect. It's going to be a lovely place to spend the day.

    futureparkya6.jpg

Becon Hill was also used in the War of 1812. The Tower was used as a recon area to scout British movements during the war. The Britsh tried many times to get the tower but were unsuccessful in doing so.

    Another view:

Finally we will be loking at the suburbs of the city:

Hey, great job! Have you considered using the Ground Highway curves that came with the NAM or is it too little space between the interchanges for that?

I like your financial district especially and those suburbs look fantastic.

This looks quite realistic, especially with the anti-griddedness and the choice of BATs and LOTs. I like your choice of location for the new park, too. I love the idea of these recreational areas being on the waterfronts.

Wow! This new one is amazing! I like the W2W buildings in the "North End", it gives it a more dense, urban feel. Great job!
