Very nice. I think the downtown area and Beacon Hill are constructed beautifully. I do think, though, (and of course this is just my personal opinion!) that an immigrant neighborhood might be better off further away from the downtown. One question - where did you find those nifty looking construction lots?

Very nice! There could be a little more custom content to spice things up but really, I don't mind it at all.

Good use of the GLR. The RHW could really add to the fun and realism of this CJ.

I visited Lincoln and Omaha in the Summer of '05 and the weather was amazing. I don't think it got above 85 the entire time we were there.

I think I may add this city to my favorites!

Impressive! although a little more variety with in the w2w buildings in your downtown would look better, you should look up Simgoobers Chicago set at Sc4D. With that said, maybe more dense residential's closer to the city centre, rowhomes and such. I can look up some BATs if you'd like. Great work otherwise 31.gif this CJ has my Signature's approval! 18.gif

Update 3 : Welcome to Cambridge, University, and Midtown!

    overviewtt3.jpg

Here is an overview of the entire area which is known as Cambridge/University/ Midtown.

    cambridgeoy3.jpg

We begin the tour in Cambridge, the cities newest neighborhood. Cambridge is home to 10,000 university students. Cambridge is full of bars, stores, resturants, and clubs. Cambridge becomes a hotbed with college  studens during Spring Break.

    cambridge2ui8.jpg

Just another view of Cambridge. Notice the round-a-bouts? The round-a-bouts have the bars , clubs, and resturants.

    toysrusvg4.jpg

It is not clear why Toys-R-Us buit a store in Cambridge with a high population of colege students. But after it was built, revenue poured in for the new Toys-R-Us.

    universityvh2.jpg

Next to Cambridbe is the University of Nebraska at Halifax or UNH. UNH is one of the largest universities in the midwest and has 25,000 students.

    dormlo0.jpg

Here are some dorms and classrooms. The dorms are numbered in the 5,000s for students who want to live on campus.

    universitylibraryox8.jpg

Here is the University's main library as well as some dorms and classrooms.

    stadiumrr3.jpg

College games are very popular in the city. UNH buit a huge stadium to support on of the best football teams in college history. Say hello to the UNH Bears! This stadium can hold 46,000 screaming fans.

    towercm8.jpg

And finally we go to the Menendez Memorial Tower. On September 2,1954 a student started to fire his rife from the clock tower. He injured serveral people.  During the standoff, Officer Dan Menendez of the HPD was able to get inside the clock tower. He confronted the deranged student. The student attacked Menendez with a knife and began to stabthe young officer several times. Menendez was able to kill the suspect with his pistol a few minutes later.  Menendez couldn't recover from his injuries and died at Halifix General. This tower was renamed in his honor. Students often walk by the memorials and tribute the fallen warrior. Others are still shaken up by the tragic event.

    midtownwa2.jpg

Here is the overview of Midtown! midtown has many famous clubs and resturants.

    midtownmallma6.jpg

Midtown has a popular mall known as the Midtown Mall where you can find teens looking at shoes, video games, and much more.

    wkttradiostationua5.jpg

Located in Midtown is the WKTT radio Sation. WKTT is located on the top levels of the Midtown Building (black building to the left. The building to the right is the AMP Building). WKTT 1066 AM is home to the midwest's most conservative talk show. Richard Bastion has been on the airwaves for 10 years. WKTT is the midwest's most popular talk radio station. On WKTT you can hear Judge Grady who gives legal advise to people on Saturday mornings. WKTT, we know the truth! (Ahh I love Grand Theft Auto IV)

    hardrockne9.jpg

Hard Rock 's newest club, Hard Rock Halifax.

    midtown2ku3.jpg

    Another view of Midtown.

    uptownts6.jpg

Here will be the new park as well as uptown which will be showcased in the next update. The Uptown Arena will be home to a future arena football team.

I think you should change the road around the memorial tower into a 3x3 one way road roundabout

Looking great. Very realistic, the downtown is superb! My only suggestion would be some more realistic power lines. I know theres a mod out there to get steel colored ones, I'm also aware of ploppable ones, but I don't think they're functional. Anyways... Great work

A well thought out and planned university.

Why do you make me want the game so much? November...

And in regards to your WKTT radio, now build one for Lazlow in Integrity 2.0! I love his show in real life. In fact, I'm listening to the episode 34 recording right now!

Update 5: Uptown Halifax and Harrison Park!

An overview of the Uptown and the Park:

    overviewupdaterb2.jpg

Harrison Park was named after an ex-mayor, Robert Harrison. He guided the city through tuff times like the Fire of 1913 and the Strike of 1917. Harrison Park is the city's "green lung."

    harrisonparkwp0.jpg

Mayor Susan O Connor was the city's first female mayor. Below is a memorial statue dedicated to the great work she did at City Hall.

This stadium will be home to a future AAA team!

Arena football added the Haifax Avengers to their list. They will play at the Uptown Arena which will hold 14,530 fans.

And finally, here is a museum dedicated to President Lincoln.  The are collectes of his things located here as well a huge statue that is very similar to the one in Washington, D.C. The museum gets 600,000 visitors a year.

    Comments

    Hawkeye9-Thanks and here's the update!

sedimenjerry-Maybe i might do that. I am not sure and thanks for posting!

patriots_1228- I didn't know how many championships Boston won. That's why I removed the slogan. I don't know about the Titletown on SC. I saw something about Boston and titletown but not the win. Thanks for posting pats!

Schulmanator-Oh yes it will be one day!

    superchad-Thanks!

    selles-Thanks a lot!

CocaTertoka- I really don't use the power lines a lot. I just needed lines for the first few updates. Thanks for the suggestion.

    edmonton_stinks-Will do!

penguin007-Thanks a lot but lighting is a problem and you can't see any lights on the Bats.

rct3twins-I'm sorry but I like to add different things from the game. It's a very intesting game but it's the most realistic. Lazlow? Alright I will put intergrity 2.0 somewhere in the city.

The CJ will now be called Planning Halifax, Nebraska because I would like to have a part 2 in the form of a first person view. It will be similar to Nyhaven, in which a engineer comes to city to fix all the transport problems. The simlympic bid will probably be in part 2.

Anyway comments are welcomed all you lurkers!

    Region Update!

So as you can see I have almost completed my downtown area. If you notice the eastern part of downtown is completed with a Greektown and yet another University.

Below is the region picture from Region Census:

    http://img517.imageshack.us/img517/5100/clarkcountythumbfe0.jpg

I would post this one but it's 1052x536

    clarkcountyll8.jpg

Now as you can see there is a lot of work. You know building more cities and what not. I am having problmes trying to find out where to put an airport. I don't want to put one in the city of Halifax (Halifax city limits  is everything within the rivers surrounding downtown) So could you Help me out and tell me where to build a new airport? I mean the airport project is a many posts away but I would like so help!

    Hawkeye9- Thanks hawk!

( I take it you have the April 2008 NAM)

Just demolish the old road around the memorial tower.

Then use the one way road tool and make a 3X3 square. (Just like you would to make the road roundabout but using the one way road tool.)

I'll see if I can get a picture.
