Oooo, very pretty once again! I like the overview with the entertainment district (reminds me a bit of Namba/Doutonbori in Osaka). Also, the lot underneath the Fuji TV- I mean KBC building is much nicer than the one I have. I'm looking forward to the airport!

Time to venture into our next update! We have a lot of places to cover and in a short little update, so stay hooked cause we will really be jumping around Kitami today. 4.gif

We will first start out at Okadama Airport. So without further wait lets jump into this update!

    aafb87e7.jpg

    General Info:

Built in the 1940s as Sapporo's main airport just located due north at 6 kilometers from the city center. It served air traffic until the midst of WWII when the Japanese used it as a military base. When Kitami gained independence it was Sapporo's main airport until the 1960s when New Chitose was created. Since then the airport has been a haven for city to city regional transport in Hokkaido and Japan.

    Passengers per Year: 7,908,870

    Destinations and Airlines:

JAL Express: Osaka-Itami, Tokyo Haneda, Tokyo Narita, Sendai

NEO Express: Hakodate, Sendai, Akita, Niigata, Tokyo Haneda, Tokyo Narita, Osaka Itami, Kobe, Fukuoka, Nagoya, Kagoshima

ANA: Tokyo Haneda, Tokyo Narita, Osaka Itami

    Hokkaido Air System: Hakodate, Kushiro

    Continental Airlines: Tokyo Narita

    United Airlines: Tokyo Narita

    Northwest Airlines: Tokyo Narita

    Air Do: Tokyo Haneda

    Overview:

We leave the Airport and venture back into the city:

    back2thecity.jpg

Now that we're back into the city let me present to you the new and improved Sapporo Metro Map:

    komana-1.gif

Now we move east of Sapporo's city center to the Toyohira River. It flows through the alluvial fan which Sapporo is built on. The river is mainly low in water height much of the year resulting in rapids and swift currents. But during the spring seasons flash floods and the melting of snow can cause torrential rains in the river valley.

For today we're only take a 360 degree tour of the area built thus far but don't worry we will be coming back her soon enough. 4.gif

Now our last stop is east of Sapporo on the Sea of Japan. Located here is the most high-tech Marine Biological Research Center in the World. More will come from this also:    4.gif

I just found your CJ and so far I am very impressed, you give an authentic asian feel to your city. I love your transportation networks, very creative! I would hate to drive on the freeway in rush hour traffic. I think you did an amazing job on the government buildings. Keep up the good work, I'll be sure to come by more often!

    Wow... great work.

The traffic, is it generated by a traffic tile?

How about the demand to grow the buildings?

Oh yea.. the airport.. how did you get the people there?

Woooo........ It's been awhile! Well I'm back for the time being as I have been very busy lately with no time to play SC4 on the weekends. So this isn't quite a major update but a combination of things! Also another reason for this long overdue update is because I have been LOTing a lot lately. Most of this next update you will see has been LOTed which takes a long time. Hope you enjoy it!

In the 1980s the Kitami Government wished to build a superhighway from the Port of Ishikari, west of Sapporo, to the easterly port city Tomakomai. This superhighway was proposed to link Sapporo to these two cities along with the newly built New Chitose Airport. The super highway began construction in 1981 and finished 4 years later. Then 10 lane highway at the time was one of its kind built with center expressways and little exits. It was called the autoban of Asia. Today it is still used at it was 20 years ago.

Now we go close up to the Yantai Colonnade Park. The lower center left of the image you can see the colonnade and the Ishiri Tunnel, one of many tunnels, which bypass the superhighway:

    Sappolalalalaro-May.jpg

Around this area is the edge of the central region of downtown Sapporo. The superhighway divides the rest of the city into neighboring prefectures and residential districts. This area that will be viewing is called Kiwa, meaning edge:

    Sappodbrwklgvsdljvaro-May.jpg

    Another view:

    ghhjgfjhgfjfgh-May.jpg

In 1995 world renowned architect, Hiroshi Hara designed a one of kind building for Sapporo that was truly art. A self sustaining building, being one of it's kind at the time is home to the corporate headquarters of DTT Docamo(Kitami) one of the largest Telecommunications Companies in Kitami:

    Sappor252525o-Jun.jpg

    Here's a overview of Kiwa:

    tytreherwhwrherh-May.jpg

Next we move to the Toyohira River Area.  On the east side of the river lies a massive mall complex complete with 4 residential towers. This 1000 unit monolith lies in a poor, but busy area. The more east we go in Sapporo the poorer and  compact housing gets. Th mall and river:

    Overview of the Area:

    Saicanthelpitpporo-Jun.jpg

Well I hope you liked this update! On my to do list is my airport. I have the terminal structure completed and the LOtting. All I'm waiting for is my Northeast Orient plane, and as soon as I get that expect a massive update On Sapporo New Chitose International Airport.

    pilotdaryl: Thanks!

selles: Thanks! I appreciate it! Come again!

crazyarchitect: Sure! Or you can take a flight from Guam to the other Sapporo Airport!

Panthersimcity4: Thanks panther! I'll try. The large tile isnt 100% complete, but when it is I'll be sure to! 4.gif

Sobol: Yes,the traffic is generated by hidden tiles, the buildings are lotted/plopped, and the people I had to lot onto the airport.

    roboo1: Thanks!

Feliwi: Thanks!! The ATR planes are custom made! I have no idea if tabi is making some though.

    xlchrisij: You're conceded!!!!
