CJ is closed....

However....

New Tokyo CJ now in progress. Ive done like what 3 different CJ's on Tokyo? When am I ever going to learn, lol. Anyways check out this link https://www.simtropolis.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=36&threadid=103961 for my new cj: Tokyo

This time ive gone into recreating Tokyo every square inch. It may not be as accurate as say the New York's out there, but Im working on it. It should be far better than this piece of crap I made here, lol.

Wow, the region pic looks very promising, can't wait for the close-ups! I suppose it's a re-creation, right?

Looking forward to more,

I agree with the rest! The region shot looks excellent. I look forward to the closeups too! Japan is one of my favourite places i've never been to! One day i'll get there. If only I wasn't afraid of aeroplanes!

Seems to be very interesting. The region is very developed already, I didn't know the total population of Greater Tokyo, I got impressed 6.gif

Good luck with your project

Very interesting, but I hope that you realize that particular area holds about 10 Million+ people

Edit: I re-read (40 Million?! I'm not sure about that much, For that map Since I have the exact same one, But I hope to see more City views)

I love the way you introduced Tokyo. That's exactly how I would explain it, too. Although it's hard to make a final judgment on your city-building skills from just a region shot, it looks very promising. Can't wait to see more! 4.gif

Agreed with the above posts, the region shot looks impressive, and the facts on Tokyo are definitely interesting. Looking forward to seeing the closeup shots of the cities themselves.

First post for me on this site. I've seen a couple attempts at Tokyo and the area surrounding the metropolis (sp?), and they've been abandoned because of a lack of realism. Admittedly though, Tokyo has one of the toughest transportation networks in the world to try and do (i.e. Rainbow Bridge). The region shot looks good though. Nice and full. Can't wait to see some closeups and learn some more stuff. Good Luck

i think this tokyo is more china but considering youve said its the future its still good...

those pictures that are only 4-5 floors and 2x2 or 1x2 are pretty realistic to what ive seen... i see you've you stadium stands out and looks good too

i recommend getting and searching for temples and even get cherry blossom trees and make that in your city all these small things can make it a good city.

I really like this cj. Very, very, very nice. I really like the conceptual stuff and planning aspect. I had no idea that Tokyo in Akira was based on an actual model by an actual architect (and a fittingly crazy-looking one at that). I'm looking forward to seeing more of what you have. Perhaps some Ueno Park or Odaiba? Those are a couple of interesting places. Just don't forget your fans on the Tobu Sen!

No, it needs so much more custom content before it even begins to make me think of Tokyo. First of all, you need the Euro Road Textures modd by AndreasRoth. You are using way too many Maxis buildings for it to be Asian. Take a look at CJs like The Republic of Ryukyu, Toright, Osaka, or even mine, you'll see what I mean... Anyway, the map and land and sea accuracy is astounding!

Also, when you take a picture, please put it on turtle mode to get rid of that ugly pause screen, and click the little box in the left corner to close the menu, and use Ctrl+Shift+S to take a shot.

Looking better every time I come back to check. Keep up the good work.

Also, what kinds of BATs and custom files are you using? I'd love to be able to try this myself.
