My Goodness, quite some prosposals,

Ntq$310: I do have a little conflict with your resort area, it comes into contact the expansion of Oak Grove, which we could work out in the future.  I don't mind the parks I approve them, pending on approval of the development of course.

Good luck

Anyways, I have a little proposal of my own:

Memo to the Dept. of Planning:

SInce my business has skyrocketed here, and around the world, my current building is just too small for my needs.  So, I propose a slightly bigger building to go in the new business district:

link

that's it for now

Thanks,

Crazyarchitect, (Shane Boxx) Dept. of Recreation

Yes I'm still alive. Been immersed in RL.

As for the poll, it looks like Ntq's resort proposal wins 7-5.

    replybanner.jpg

Patricius Maximus: Cool. Expect to see them again.

    knarfmo: Thanks. Curve mod?

thornwalker: Welcome to Virgin Shores! Currently there are 42 pages, and about 1240 posts.

Thank you. You get involved by either, A: running for a city council position in the september elections, or B: Proposing a development, which the Planning Committee will then look at and approve/deny. And be forewarned, these interactive CJs are few and far between.

Ntq$310: Yes they do. I believe with those Oilville hit 1000 people!

Wait a minute... which building is the bank HQ? I'm having a brain lapse, and have completely forgotten. I believe I built two buildings last update, one belonging to un1, and the other being the regional HQ of FollOil, Inc. Remind me again what is supposed to be the VSNB HQ, please.

I haven't started on it yet.

    Your plan won the vote.

jacqulina: Thanks. They're all from Peg's MTP.

    sedimenjerry: Yes I did... 16.gif

No drought right now, but I'm still thinking about how I could stage one... Don't worry, I will.

    Thank you.

Matthew: Huh? Outdoor theatre? All we're doing for the memorial is clearing some woods and setting up a temporary stage. No outdoor theatre.

crazyarchitect: OK, it's on my project list.

Thanks. I'll be waiting for it.

Oh I forgot about that!... I'll work on it, and there is no outdoor music venue, as yes, that would have to go through you.

    Ntq$310: Holy ..... 6.gif

Are you trying to take over the city? 18.gif psander's going to have fun with this...

I think I might soon lift the ban on commercial. The situation improved a little with the last update.

Thanks for the new picture of the beach extension. We'll let crazyarchitect have a say in it before I do though. I'll take a look at the beach lots too.

The same applies to Ntq Park, but it seems OK to me.

So you've established an umbrella corporation over the bank? That's fine, but soon I might need to draft some AntiTrust Laws. Will all of your developments be managed by the real estate company?

On behalf of the city council (including you 46.gif), thank you so very much for this wonderful stimulus to our economy.

Lastly, you're using Flickr to host that image?

Ntq$310: Oh that building. Can someone tell me which building was supposed to be the FollOil building then?

crazyarchitect: Oh yeah. We could just combine them.

Great building choice, but it's growable only.

Ntq$310: Yes, but Oak Grove is that little town to the north of your Resort Area, and a proposal to expand it to the south has already been submitted.

GreekMan: Of course. Just draw it up in Paint on a part of the map or an image, and post it here.

Alright, finally up to date. So here is my proposal for an area that looks like it's been forgotten.

    VSteel.jpg

I'd like to propose the construction of Virgin Steel's first iron coking plant. The local mine produces prime coke for the production of steel. We would like to build a 19x6 coking station (red), which will provide up to 500 jobs to the local citizens. We also propose that a spur be built off the rail line (blue) to the mine to facilitate in coke and pig iron and an upgrade to the access road to allow trucks to easily access the facility, as they will be overweight for the current dirt road.. Also a small parking lot for commuters is requested (black).

The following building by fukuda is suggested as the coking plant.

    https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?id=17970

A map of the plan follows.

    cokingstation.jpg?imgmax=512

Further expansion to a full Steel works will be proposed in the future.  (i.e. when fukuda finishes up the steel mill) https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?id=19310

I apologize for the long absence from Virgin Shores (and my own City Journals). But I've returned. I've had my way with other online sensations and now I've come back. And It seems I've come back to problems. DTP, I've noticed the building Ntq$310 is "using" for his bank, looks like the building you built for FollOil Inc. Did they move into some extra space or something?

I've also updated for the New Follomer Mainland. And I heard something about elections this, September? If I'm correct? I've decided that I want to run for Dep. of Public Safety.

I'm not sure the committee will accept that proposal, seeing that those lots are only Growable, and it would take time to actually get the game to build that lot. DTP would prefer Ploppable lots and buildings. (I learned that myself not too long ago. 48.gif)

Oh doh, I thought they were plop lots. =/

TimeMaster: I think so, byt Ntq Park may need a school when built.

thornwalker: First of all, the first picture's a red X, and the second picture is VERY old. That area looks nothing like that anymore. In fact, there are now houses and farms in your highlited area. Please find a more up-to-date picture in the CJ Photobucket (such as the overview from update 21) and re-evaluate your plan. Other than the location it sounds fine, but we'll need to hear from the Planning Committee.

Archean: Welcome back, I was starting to worry.

I need some clarification as to the buildings. That's the building you requested, right? So then which one is supposed to be the VSNB HQ? I got a little confused.

And yes, elections are on the 15th every month, and always have been. Sure you can run for DPS, though officially nominations aren't accepted yet.

TimeMaster: Realistically, it would be best to upgrade the road, as heavy trucks wouldn't fare so well on a dirt track.

    Archean: See below...

thornwalker: Sorry, but you need to change it again. And yes, plop lots are nice... 2.gif

Hm, I guess I totally ignored that side of the photo in the last update. Heh, I'll look at the proposal again tomorrow.

As for the red X, that's supposed to be the Virgin Steel logo. 15.gif But it won't load.

Crazyarchitect:  I'd love to see a more detailed plan of your proposal for the expansion of Oak Grove before deciding weather to accept yours or Ntq$310's proposal.

The pools look great.  I got them for myself!  I think they'd be great additions to the areas you suggested.  Approved.

ericlewis: True, I need to see a BAT first, and a proposed location.

Ntq$310: Beach expansion: I like the proposal for residential development near the new beach.  Approved.

Resort District: I think this will conflict with crazyarchitect's proposal.  I'd like to see both, then decide which is better for the area.  I fell I must object to the grid you've proposed though.  We seem to have managed to avoid the grid in many of the other developments, and I like that style of housing.  Have you considered a fused grid for this area? (link's not working.  If you want to look up fused grid systems go here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fused_Grid  )  I think it will make for a more interesting neigbourhood.  PatriciusMaximus Might have something to add on that too. Delayed decision

Ntq Park: This is another large area!  I think the city could acommodate some more expansion North of the popular new commercial district.  Part of the commercial zone you outlined has already been zoned, so we could eventually expand it to fit in your rectangle.  I suggest though that this proposal should be phase two of your 'masterplan' (which is ma-hoo-ssive by the way!) and built for the next update.  Unless the mayor finds it more convenient to build it and the beach expansion together.  I get the impression that there might be a lot of proposals from this update to the next!

    Apology accepted 46.gif

crazyarchitect: Not sure about this building.  Again, Simgoober has chosen not to reveal the whole building in his pictures! (my only criticism of his contributions to the game). It looks ok sizewise.  I haven't downloaded this one to test it... it's not my style really.  I think it might look ok as part of the new development.  Approved

Thornwalker: Thankyou for your first proposal!  The new plant you've suggested is very very big.  I've downloaded it and will have a look at it in game.  In the meantime you might want to reconsider the location.  As DTP says, that area is now developed.

deathtopumpkins: The FollOil building was this one I think

Great update!!  Still not sure about the seasonal trees though. In my opinion they look a bit odd with all the ubiquitous evergreens.  The Park Reserve on its own though is brilliant!

The absolute best things in this update are the two new intersections, paricularly exit 1 of highway 2!  It's gracefully simple.  I also like the weeds!

**EDIT** Links aren't working for some reason.  I just upgraded to Firefox3... maybe that's it.  The FollOil building is - https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?id=17962

    I see, I see.

This is off topic (Sorry! It sorta doesnt relate)

But that rainfall (4-5 inches) made the our lake have a displacement of only half a foot from those pictures.

Displacement?? Sorry, I got physics running through my veins right now with an intial velocity of 3 m/s and an acceleration of 3.5 m/s^2 and a final velocity of 12 m/s. Find the time.

Basically, it went down a foot then came up 1.5 feet.

Hopefully any drought in virgin shores won't be THIS bad.

Any end of the month celebration? Or just the usual friday night fireworks? Labor day is coming up after all...

ohhh i didnt know someone was expanding oakgrove. I dont really care about borderlines and everything, can the proposals be merged somehow? since both are for the benifit of virgin shores2.gif

About the grid, again it's all up to dtp, any street layout could be choosen.

And I am using Flickr, since i also use yahoo9.gif

And lastly, yup a umbrella company, you could say these would be managed by the company, seeing as i am proposing some massive expansions.

The one that is in the statement and was featured in the update is the one Virgin Shores national bank Owns. I was the one who proposed it. Both this and the something something oil building look very similar, and are both made by ndex. I dont know how the cofusion over who owns it started but if you look back i was the one who proposed that building was me.

So with that can you please change it so in the update it's regarded as my hq, and that the once archen proposed be built? so we can get this whole confusing matter dealt with?

Mr Monorail: Why is there 212,000 people coming to a memorial for 450 deaths?!?! Your memorial is not our main topic now, we still have other things. No offense.

    Ntq: That sounds cool. 2.gif

hmmm it's not really a issue, though i see that it can help virgin shores get more park space, but over 200,000 people coming to a memorial for 450 is a little excessive.....i mean i can understand a couple thousand, even 20,000 seeing as the whole town was evacuated and those people could have been important people, but 200,000 is over bored.

And i think if all my developments get put into action were going to need more graphs for traffic, and health and education, and power and water usage. Seeing as these developments would really grow the town.

Also, what is this about this memorial and 450 people dying.. I've been trying to reread the last few pages and I don't see where 450 people died or its relevance at all to Virgin Shores.. can someone fill me in?

it wasent in virgin shores if you reread, it was actually in Mr. Monorail Man's cj, so they were going to have a memorial in virgin shores. BBut really this is all about virgin shores, so let's keep it that way. Also dtp can i see a garbage map to see how much virgin shores in handling? or if we need a expansion of shipping.

    Proposal From:

    River Granite Development Group

    River Falls, MO

    a1q.jpg

Its aways out of town, but right next to an increasingly busy highway, i think this development would turn out good. River Granite Development has been talking with many retailers, and so far these retailers are going to be built in the development:

Residential extends into some farmland but leaves the farmers housing and some other land. The blue line next to the white line means to leave these squares (1x1's) open for 2 to 4 lane road expansion. We also request permission to name the streets. (Which we have done in the plan).

    Chase Bank Southwest Branch

    https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/details.cfm?id=11410&v=1

    Petons Market

    Virgin Shores Gas Station

    https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/details.cfm?id=17155&v=1

The other space available next to the retail inside Shores Pointe Road and Foxborough Ave we request be turned into either a park, or let the city build Civic Buildings There. Proposal For Planning Commission, Mayor, etc.

And Ntq we have a garbage dock which goes far into the ocean and dumps it in, or something else.

Timemaster: and i know we have one,  and no we dont dump it in, it is sent to another location where it is dealt with according to enviremental standers, im just saying if we need a expansion of that seeing that oilville's been expanded, virgin shores is being expanded, and we may need more shipping to handle more garbage.

also i wonder if a virgin shores bank could be included in iamccman proposal if it get's though? if that's ok with him across.

The DOT sees nothing wrong with iamccman's plan except for the fact of the proximity of the street to the freeway. The DOT requests that the proposal to be amended to shift the road back 4 tiles, leaving 1 tile between the development and Highway 1.

DTP: Anti-trust laws? They're probably necessary, but I think it's strange that in Virgin Shores there's almost no competition yet in Franklin we're drowning in companies. Wierd.
