    Getting behind on these...

    replybanner.jpg

Ntq$310: Actually power's already taken care of. And I can run water pipes.

Sure, you can name it whatever you want.

And I'll have those graphs for you in update 22.

: Me too! It'll be a little while though.

Matthew: 200,000 people!!! There's no way they'll all fit here! You've seen how small the museum is... And not to mention the hotel space... Looks like people will be camping. And I'll close off a route from the passenger docks to the museum for all the people.

I guess it could be held in a field by the hotels,  I'm not sure what the weather's supposed to be.

Patricius Maximus: So you approve Ntq$310's diamond interchange request? Or can we do something else, like a parclo? I'm getting tired of diamonds.

Ntq$310: I honestly don't know how the city would handle that many people.

supercity124: OK on the Costco, but which shopping center would you like to use? I'd go with the second one, as the first one is humongous, and there's no way it would fit there.

    sedimenjerry: Yep.

Ntq$310: I'm starting to have a hard time.

    supercity124: I did.

Archean: Thanks. It can be hard at times to read and respond to everything, but it's worth it.

They're all mostly complete, but I've still got some more picture-taking to do, as well as finish the Oilville developments.

    supercity124: If he wants to.

iamccman: I would have liked to have been included in this... 5.gif 2.gif That's fine.

GreekMan: Oops... forgot to add a link. Hang on, I'll fix that.

    Sure.

crazyarchitect: Cool. I'll hope to see a plan later, and then I'll open the voting on it finally.

psander5: The building's fine with me. I plopped it.

And the pic's fine. It's not hijacking.

Mine's 1.915 GB and growing as well, but my game still only takes a minute to start. 3.gif And I have BAT-downloading sprees too! Just thank the CJ.

    TimeMaster: Cool.

EDIT: Page flip. Welcome to page 40

Ntq$310- By buses, trains, ships, and cars! I have decided to rent out one of the beachfront homes during my visit tommorrow. And DTP, please clear out a WHOLE bunch of land for our outdoor event please. And after we're done with that, the department of recreation can turn it in to an outdoor amphitier like the Virginia Beach Amphitier. You can use it for a location for city election debates, a place for concerts, etc... So, that's another good thing whem Island City visits. Don't forget about all of the increased business for the city.

That Clinic is accepted by the Virgin Shores Department of Health and Education. See to the Planning Committee for the offices.

By private, all it means is it is not city owned, so it is not funded by the city. Its just like how in real world cities there are privately owned medical centers and such. Private clinics are able to be funded by private funding and possibly some help from the city, but that is very rare. MHS is exploring more expansion into VS.

Jerry: I have no recollection of ever being to a private clinic before... So I don't really know, lol. Maybe it is because I live in a small subdivision, and there isn't one.

    STsigbannerDOT.jpg

The DOT has noticed and evaluated Ntq$310's request, and DTP's comments. The DOT, like the Mayor, is getting tired of diamonds.

So, I propose a parclo variant known as a "partfold diamond":

    18581177xl0.jpg

The diamond-like side will be the one nearest to Ntq$310's development.

Ntq$310: With your permission, this revision will be adopted to the plan.

iacmann: We request your permission to revise your interchange to a partfold diamond.

DTP: After all these proposals are finished, I need to make a request for the atlas. With all the interchanges popping up, it would be nice to have their shapes in the atlas diagrammed, such as this. Not saying it should be exactly the same, but it is a good example.

This proposal, if adopted, will aid the DOT in it's elected duties quite well.

Matthew: Actually, only by ship. Virgin Shores is 1000 miles away by sea from the nearest landmass, remember? And to the west is entirely unexplored, so no roads or rail lines.

I'll clear some land for you.

iamccman: Wow. That's the clinic the city normally uses! Both it and the office building are fine with me.

    TimeMaster: Cool.

    sedimenjerry: Should be positively.

Ntq$310: Cool, we can always use more housing.

iamccman: Yeah, all we've got around here are privately-owned ones.

    TimeMaster: Really? That suprises me.

psander5: Good. I'll get to work on it for update 22 then.

Patricius Maximus: That should be great! I like it.

I was thinking the same thing for the atlas, when I was doing the parclo in Oilville. I'll probably end up using smaller black lines (as in some RL maps) to do the basic shape.

The reason why i am building such a small clinic is because as the area grows around it, we can most likely either expand and start adding different locations.

Speedy Bus Services (headquarters in The Republic of Gossamer - Coming Soon!) would like to propose a school bus contracting service to Virgin Shores.

Details to include: Full school bus transportation service to Virgin Shores + Oilville (if desired), as a contractor.

I will give a full list of details of all the services Speedy can provide to the Virgin Shores Community once the proposal is accepted.

    Our desired base : https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/details.cfm?id=11967&v=1

Location is negotiable, if accepted I will leave it up to DTP or the Planning Committee to choose the best location for the base.

If you have any questions on this proposal, please Private Message myself.

    -Jake

Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Speedy Bus Services.

iamccman: Yeah, I'm all for a small clinic.

TimeMaster: I hope so too... Like I said earlier, RL's kept me from playing lately, but I've got tonight to finish update 21.

    crazyarchitect: PM.

kirby636: I see that was addressed pretty quickly below you.

Jake: Sure. I had never really thought of school busses. I guess it's fine if the DHE approves.

btw, your link is void, but the address is right. The lot should be fine.

I think the best location would be near all the new developments.

    Hello,

My name is Justin and I have to say I love this CJ!!!! I've wanted to do one for years now. This specific one however has inspired me to go about a CJ in a similar way. I'm not sure if this is the appropriate forum to ask this but, would there be more people out there interested in community based city building?

I'd love to hear from you

    have a good one guys!

    Justin

Decided to stop by the forums one more time before crawling into bed ('bout 1 AM here) to say that all of the pictures for update 21 have been taken! I'm currently in the process of converting them, and they should be uploaded to the CJ Photobucket (www.photobucket.com/DTP_Productions in case you forgot) as I go.

Mind you, this will only contain requests submitted to be before a few days ago. Recent proposals (namely Ntq/iamccman's) will have to wait until update 22.

One thing to note: The forums are acting weird for me, so I'm laying off the formatting on some posts for a little while. Clicking stuff doesn't always seem to give me the intended effect, so bear with me if this one turns out weird too.

Another thing: Virgin Shores finally made it on to Phat's Hottest CJ list, debuting at number 4 this week!

Justin: First of all, welcome to Simtropolis!

I wish you luck in your future CJ endeavour, and I am sure many of us would be interested, but how exactly would you define 'community based city building'?

    >>> Death to Pumpkins<<<

I mean something similar to the system in place here. Where you establish a head to the DOT, the DOR, etc. in a CJ, as well as posters propositioning land development, like when someone wanted banks, a McDonald's, or a resort in Virgin Shores. Community input on all that goes on.

I love that idea. its much more realistic then one person making each call.

and thanks for the welcome!!!! been a lurker for years!!!

Here is a really rough(nothing to scale) proposal for Dorito Island Park Reserve:

    DoritoIsland-1.jpg

    Gray is the road

    Green for park and trails

Tan is for the beach line

Blue would represent a historic marker(ie: a fort, or maybe a lighthouse)

It could also be a strip of commercial(for a restaurant, shops, etc)

I dont have exact BATs yet, like I said this is a rough sketch3.gif

DTP: Your idea about the atlas is good. I would like that.

Justin: I think that your endeavour sounds great. It would be nice to have another Virgin Shores type CJ going on here. While I'm too busy to be the DOT head of two regions at once, I could give yours my advice. I would think, to have a little variety, that it'd be good to have the government of your CJ slightly different. Other than that, I'm looking forward to it's debut.

Crazyarchitect: I like your plan. I may vote for it, but not before I've seen the competitor 3.gif.

JJC12321: The first picture is on photobucket

    Wish I lived in CA.

Justin: Oh cool. It would be nice to see another one. I say go for it. We're here for support, but I think I speak for most of us when I say we're too busy to get any more involved than commenting when we can.

crazyarchitect: That is really rough. Oh well, at least I can start the voting now.

Patricius Maximus: Cool, I'll get started when I update the atlas at update 22.

    I second that.

Yes you have. Ntq's proposal. There was a third one, but I've been asking for a detailed proposal for 3 days and nothing, so it's just the two. I'll post them both below.

It's voting time! Development proposals for Dorito Island are in, and I'm leaving it up to you, the reader, to decide which is built.

    The proposals are:

The Department of Recreation: Dorito Island Park Reserve

    [see 2 posts up]

    Ntq$310: Resort Beach

    doritoislandzt8.jpg

My plan for dorito island, the blue lines represtent a general water line, though it's really olny important around the ferry station.

The ferry station [replaced with causewat] is white, i believe the ferry stions you have are around 2x3 size.

The Peachy color is the cutomizable sand lot's i showed you to a couple post back, i can find those again if you need. But there great for a island like this.

Red represtents another zaza hotle , yes i know, but i think itwould just work perfect for this.

And the small blue area is a some commercial development that serves the hotle.

THe grey are the streets that serve the island.quote>

    Poll on page 1.

I can't see a poll either!  I have a preference, but i'll keep it to myself for now.

I have a problem with formatting too.  It just made a mess of my cj replies!  You've got to love Simtropolis, but sometimes it tries to test your love!!
