    Ok; a Network Addon Plugin update [in other words, just for this thread];
     
    You will need the Main NetworkAddonMod_Beta from the Mods page in order to use the following file:

    PuzzlePieces_Plugin_06.11.04_3.zip

    Remove any previous PuzzlePiece file and use this one instead [in conjunction with the Main mod]Place the unzipped file in the exact same Folder as the Main mod, and leave the file names as is.
     
    Quite a number of things have been rectified, and or changed/fixed.
    Several Paths have been fixed.
    Several Preview Models have been fixed/created.
    PuzzlePiece for Road over GroundHighway now included
    PuzzlePiece for Avenue over GroundHighway now included
    [Those new to Puzzle Pieces should take a look at the following: Network Mod; Puzzle Pieces  ].

     
    AND; Redlotus piece of art is also now included 2.gif

    The above highway interchange need to be built from the Highways menu button [for now]. This button is at the bottom of the highways menu.
     
    Play around with all this stuff guys, give some feedback too if you can. Any bugs etc that you can find, please post them thanks.

    Please don't complain/post about anything/something not working [at all] either thanks. If something isn't working, then read through this thread thanks.

    mikeyb66: Great! Not exactly what I was thinking, but cool still! It looks sorta European, and definitely Roman-inspired. I can think of a bunch of places where I could use that!

    What I was thinking of was something like this \/. This is what I'd like: a gritty, sort of urban structure that'd look good in an industrial area. If we make them the same height, we can use the same path files, and maybe do both styles.

    You caught us.15.gif  That was actually a known bug that I couldn't seem to figure out.  Luckily, your posting a picture of the problem helped to spark my fried brain cells and I've finally figured out the cause.  Expect this glitch to be fixed in the next update.  Thank you for the inspiration.16.gif
     
    As a side note:  I should have posted this earlier, but I guess late is better than never.3.gif  I know that there are still some texture problems with the intersection.  I will continue to work on it and hopefully have it all cleaned up soon, but I am sure that it will take some time.  I just really wanted to get this released so that I could have everyone thoroughly test it out.
     
    One more thing--I know that UDI through this can be a pain, particularly with the weave lanes.  I've done the best I could, but some wonky things still end up happening (like hopping barriers, for instance).  Unfortunately, most of these issues are caused by Maxis' coding of the UDI engine.  However, a tip for the weave lanes is this:  enter at the beginning of the weave lane and exit from end of the weave lane.  Hopefully this will help a little.

    Oh...one question here..
     
    I formatted my PC last Friday and before it the puzzle pieces worked fine. But after it, I can't connect the rail, roads, avenue under the elevated roads and avenues anymore.. Do I need some different file, like a transit enable lot or something like that... ? (Sorry about the english mistakes)

    Oooohh!!! been waiting for that interchange. It's a good thing I waited before installing PuzzlePieces... (I had downloaded but not extracted the initial PuzzlePieces release.

    when I download it it just has a white squre like it's a street and nothing happens. I put the beta Network addon mod, the puzzle piece mod (v. 3, only V. 3) and radical automata and on perfect pathfindig. do I have to put all the perfect pathfinding plugins in my folder or what else?

    Same thing as Tunafish reports also happens to me; I don't see the puzzle pieces only a white square. (menu icon is fine and I followed the instructions exactly)

    What's worse is that after installing the puzzle pieces one of my PARIS BAT buildings doesn't display correctly anymore. In one view the building now shows a puzzle piece texture 8.gif8.gif8.gif.

    Here's just another question; I see that you have almost completed the list of intersections you planned to do. Most of them are overpasses. Is it possible to get different types of crossections on the ground level, such as those in the avenue-turning lane project?

    Thereason it looks European is because I am european and this wht my idea of a viaduct. After seeing your idea i will work on one like that as well.

    Your work on this network addon mod is really amazing!!
    One question though: Would it be possible to split the mod so that it's possible to choose which overpasses to use in the game. For instance, I don't want the road-street overpass since I build my cities low density with streets from the beginning and then upgrade to roads when necessary (as I suppose many of us do). The upgrading work takes a lot longer time now, as I have to decide if I want an overpass at every crossing and it disturbs me a bit. Most of the network addon is so great that I take this inconvenience for now, but for the future it would be nice to be able to choose...
    (I'm sorry if this has been discussed before. I have read through the thread rather quickly, and might have missed it.)

    @Everyone

    As of now, I have removed the latest update [the one posted on the previous page]. I have done this for a particular reason, ok [so think twice thanks before asking where/what/etc]. I'll update [again] asap once I fix few things.

     

    @pansarkatt;

    Someone else had mentioned this. This does sound like it is/maybe a problem for some people, & it is something I can relate to. One of the main reasons I had left the Window Prompt there still though, is because it can often give better results with some overpasses when building networks in cirtain circumstances; usually more better than plopping the overpass straight from the menu manually.

    So, what I *may* do is, have 2 files that will handle this then. One that has the Window Prompt, and one without the Window Prompt. This would be done mostly across the board for most of the networks [all the overpasses that is].

    o,k.....sorry bout having to do that.

    The above file has it all [excluding the Traffic/Automata Plugins from the main mod from the mods page].

    If you have any old versions, of anything related to this mod [or anything else traffic/transit related], and I DO MEAN ANY-THING, then remove it from the Plugins folder before using the above mentioned file [this excludes the Traffic/Automata Plugin files though. You can keep a hold of them, just so long as it is from a previous version of this mod]

    ----------------------------

    Fixed some Paths

    Fixed some internal coding

    New Interchange should now work at every angle/combination, as pictured further below.

    Some other things were also changed/fixed.

     ------------------------------------

    Some things may still need fixing/addressing, so please post any BUGS you find. Hopefully, the documentation can be updated soon too, to take into account all the newer items.

    Also; attached is a Custom Plugin dat file, for the Highway Menu Buttons [this is optional]. Basically, it removes 4 of the Highway Menu buttons, while still maintaining the presence/functionality of all the different Cloverleafs/ Parallel Ramps/HighwayOverpassRamps/etc, for BOTH Ground Highway and Elevated Highway. Some feedback on this too would be nice.

    i like the viaduct
    one thing is im not too sure about the colour of the brick though, since alot fo the viaducts were built over 100years ago they would look a bit more worn down etc.. but it looks a bit like its recently built, when i get back to my computer i'll post a couple brick textures that you could try out. but the look of the viaduct is exactly what i was thinking of

    Yeah, the textures came out a bit light after rendering, i can change that but any suitable textures you have would be appreciated.

    I've noticed that the lines on that interchange are still unbroken. It's not that I mind that, it's just that it's kindof inconsistent with the original highway pieces... still, it's brilliant to finally have another interchange option. I don't mean to be a nagging, whining individual on this, but I think that should be fixed at some point before the final modd. I just want this thing to come professionally like you would.
     
    Oh, and how did I know you were going to update the file today, just when I go in to test the PuzzlePieces plugin? oh well, I'll just wipe the PuzzlePieces file...
     
    Some of the possibilities with those puzzlepieces will feature in my journal, which I think I'll update now.

    @caghaasnoot; Yes. It includes, but is not limited to, anything/everything made to date in this thread. So remove any old puzzle piece plugins with this file.
