Yeah. Never listen to the ramblings of an insane fool. Remember- this message was specifically released to the public because it's what he wants us to hear. Don't pay these silly tapes any mind. The thing to pay mind to is intelligence gathered from spying and whatnot. That's the stuff he doesn't want us to know- the dangerous knowledge which we can consider more trustworthy. Because when terrorists talk specifics to each other, we know they're serious. When they release public statements, for all we know they're bluffing. The only statement they could release which would really be true cause for concern would be a message calling for America (or whatever country) to convert to Islam coupled with a warning. Precedent has shown that that means an attack is imminent- and that's because the religious doctrine these guys are twisting says that before you strike at your enemy you must first offer them a chance to convert to Islam, and all is forgiven if they do that. Now, traditionally it applied to a single man, not a whole country- but they see no difference.

Because some remember history. Heard of Hitler? He said something like that: If you give me what I want (Polen, Sudetenland, Böhmen-Mähren, etc.), "all's cool". Rest is history.

When it comes to war, it quickly gets dirty, especially if you're fighting non-states, like the al-Qaida. There will always be a point when you can talk to people if you're fighting a state, because someone has control. Sure, you might have nutjobs like Hitler in command, but when they're gone, you'll probably find the new guys a little more talkative.

And it's pointless trying to figure out who's war it is, who's to blame for the misfortunes—the important thing is that there is a war, and we must focus on doing the job better than our opponents.

I'm not really sure where you got that information, becuase it's completely false. Fighting wouldn't simply stop just becuase American troops left. It was incredibly irresponsible to go to war, it would be even more irresonsible to leave the region in the mess we've made.
