Right, here we go: Rap (excl. Kanye West and a few others), Hip hop and R'n'B all fall into my hated category. 70's and 80's stuff because they pretty much all sound the same i.e. flat drumbeats, weird voices. And most of today's 'cool' music, which is basically rap n crap.

Can we stick to naming specific songs, please? Saying "Anything by (artist)" isn't a valid claim unless you know every song by said artist... which if you're saying that, you probably don't.

Plus, it doesn't permit me to say, "hey! I like that song!"34.gif

Oh trust me, I've heard every Jonas Brothers song imaginable, and then some.

How can one hate Mika, Kanye, Rihanna, or Fergie? I'm thinking, WHAT? And Sky, CRANK DAT? OMG. I love all those songs so much! Except Crank That gets annoying if I listen to it more than three times at once. Anyway, to each their own. Stronger and Umbrella are like my favorites though, lols...

So some really annoying songs are by these US kids called "The Naked Brothers Band". I can't stand them, gosh. Whenever I visit my younger cousins in Vancouver, they're always listening to "Crayayayayayayazy CAR!". Oh my gosh, it's SO annoying. If you don't know what I'm talking about, click here.

Another really annoying one is Green Day's "American Idiot". OMG that is so *bleeping* annoying!

Kanye's "Stronger" beat has actually originated from this old song called "

" by Daft Hands.  Cept Kanye's beat is much better IMO.9.gif

And I'm with Skyliner22 on this one, I don't see how people say every rap song in existance is horrible...unless of course they've listened to every rap song?  I've heard Kanye rap about how much he loves his mom...yeah that must be so horrible, talking about your mom in a good way.  I can see how that is so clearly hated.34.gif

I happen to be a hip-hop/rap fan. I grew up listening to Snoop Dogg and 2 Pac. I still love listening to it. The newer stuff doesn't really appeal to me as much. It's a little too dance/clubbish for my taste. There is actually a lot of music out these days (not just rap) that I feel is really manufactured and that kinda bothers me. But none of it is enough for me to go as far as to say I hate it. I think people appreciate certain types of music/songs for different reasons and I can respect that. Anyways, that's all. Have a lovely day! 9.gif

I think I've heard each and every Beatles song more than once.  And in almost every case, they lyrics make me want to cut my brain out with a spoon.  The melodies make me want to do that with the rest of them...

I like Simple Plan, but like I said before, "Addicted" makes me nuts.  Again, bad lyrics:

"I'm addic...

I'm addicted to you"

Okay, say that out loud.  Anyone can tell that first line sounds like something else!  Makes me cringe every time I hear it...

Anything and everything mainstream... even some stuff that isn't mainstream metal gets on my pecks. Techno and Dance music also... most of that stuff you could make in 5 mins on your laptop while your having a dump, yet people get PAID to do it... I mean, for gawd sakes DON'T encourage them.

Lol... whats funny is I was on a 'positivity' course today and I come onto Simtrop to find something I could rant about for hours... your not helping me!!! 3.gif

I agree that the "anything by ____" statement can be true.  Hannah Montana?  High School Musical?  Yeah...those are horrible...

I agree with the songs in the first post that I've heard.  Most notably Sugar We're Going Down.  SO overplayed.  Also 1985 (Bowling for Soup reminds me of an "edgy" N*Sync or something), Who Let the Dogs Out, and All I Want for Christmas is You...although nearly every xmas song ever could go on this list...

My additions:

Roll Out - Ludacris

Country Grammar - Nelly

Let's Get it Started - Black Eyed Peas

Magis Carpet Ride - by ? (it was used in a Chevy commercial that played every two minutes for a year )26.gif

Go West by the Pet Shop Boys. VERY annoying. It would not be so bad if the singer's voice wasn't so damn effeminate. Tis a damn defilement of the normally masculine and testosterone-roaring Soviet Anthem.

I also agree with most of the choices above.

Oh please.  Rap is one beat the through out the song.  While some bands, like Dream Theater, who practices 6 hours a day,  are a lot better than just one straight beat throught out the song.

I detest rap greatly!!

Actually, no, they aren't.  Various rap songs have more than one beat throughout the song.  Regardless, I can't post any due to their rather questionable lyrics.

The song by Steppenwolf?

We can inspire others through witness so that one grows together in communicating. But the worst thing of all is religious proselytism, which paralyzes: “I am talking with you in order to persuade you.” No. Each person dialogues, starting with his and her own identity. The church grows by attraction, not proselytizing.    - Pope Francis

You know, several years back when that song was new, Simple Plan appeared in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade (at least I think it was, it might have been the St. Patrick's Day parade) singing it. When shown on TV, the network censored it by silencing it, resulting in "I'm a ....... I'm addicted to you". I had to laugh. 21.gif

Her name is Miley Cyrus, damn it! Hannah Montana is the stupid name Disney gave her for their stupid show. Why the hell can't anyone get that straight!?45.gif

Point to you. I have that song.

Actually, you can directly blame Dereko for that one. He posted a link to an mp3 of it in the chatroom many moons ago.

Although, to be fair, the Pet Shop Boys didn't write that. It's a cover of an old Village People song. ....though I guess that only worsens your complaint about lack of masculinity. 21.gif

Probably. I do seem to remember a commercial that got played a lot using that song. Forget what it was a commercial for, though.

What I find curious, though, is that "Born to be Wild" would definitely be more fitting of a car commercial.

Semi-Related Trivia: "Born to be Wild" was ripped off payed homage to in Duke Nukem 3D. Duke can't sing!34.gif

EDIT: You can hear (and see!) it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kGIDA6QtRc4. Ah, YouTube.

The best use ever for that song was in First Contact when the 1st warp ship blasted off.

I would like to go back in time and see the Spice Girls so i can force them all to develop a serious throat disease, thus preventing them from singing, and becoming the Spice Girls.

"...and I say 'Hell no.'" 3.gif  I had to do that.  Especially considering Target really doesn't have good prices. : P

Actually...anything by T-Payne that uses that voice. I say that because that electronic, trilling voice is one of the most annoying things on the radio. I haven't heard a song yet where he doesn't use it, but if there is, there might be a small chance that I like it. That voice, though? No.

Listened to the radio today, and heard a song YET again...

    The Fratellis - "Chelsea Dagger"

    ARGH!

    A few more overplays:

Celine Dion - "My Heart Will Go On"

The Kooks - "She Moves In Her Own Way"

Rihanna - "Don't Stop The Music"

It is also the lyrics.  They get on my nerves.  All they talk about is stuff like sex, drugs, killing, and just a lot of profanity.
