About the Project.

The CKLW Project is amied at Batting the Local landmarks Of The Windsor London Areas. By this i mean WINDSOR AND LONDON ONTARIO CANADA. This Project will deliver Bats from Southwest Ontario. New Batters are always welcome to join.

London has some beautiful modern buildings that I'd love to see in the game!

I'm too busy with school even to get my own projects done, but I sure hope you get some BATers on board. I think this would be a worthwhile project!

I am from London. There are some nice modern buildings here.

I have two requests: (I'm not a BATter)

1. Talbot Centre: the twin towers in Downtown London.

2. The John Labatt Centre: The new state of the art hockey arena/entertainment complex.

Haljackey: Hmm, i have never seen talbot centre( at least i dont think i have) and the JLC would be nice to see on stex, but since im from windsor i can promis that if the project gets off the ground you will see the new WFCU center in windsor, and the JLC would be perfect to go with it!!!!

Do you mean Windsor to London as in the massive area of Green Belt and Heathrow Airport in between them? I know Windsor isnt exactly far from London but there is still a lot in between! That would be a lot of work. Although I wouldnt mind doing Windsor and Eton Riverside Station at one point.

Yeah, at first I thought this was in England but the Sarnia/Detroit was the tip off.

By the way, how do you BAT the stretch from Sarnia to Detroit? There's a lake/river in the way

So what do you think? is there intrest in creating landmarks from southern Ontario? How many people would like to get involved in anyway? how many people would give some support(BAT's, Pics, Textures, even thoughts). Post it if your intrested!!!!

bigskelding: I think its mainly for office space.  There is a mall on the bottom connecting the towers.

This is the first test of Windsor Arena (the barn) I made this BAT long befor the idea of this came about.

I'm excited about Windsor's barn! I feel like we need more hockey rinks... Well, at least I love to use them.

For the Barn I know the roof textures look a little weak and cheap but the city of windsor just Put a new roof on the place a few years ago and it honistly looks close to what i have.

Ducio: I love to see rinks on STEX but theres not alot of options out there. theres only a few rink and most of them are for big time team and big citys. If this project gets off the ground im sure the new WFCU Center will make its way on to STEX same with the JLC in london.

Whatever I said in the PM is still probably true.  The best thing to do is to look really carefully at the building, and try to anaylize it's proportions, and how it works, and what details there are.  And then model it.  The building in real life isn't a very good looking building, so it will be hard to make it look good for SC4.

I am starting a list of buildings that are local landmarks. I am not sure of the names for alot of the buildings in London so Post the building and its name if you think it should be a BAT.

Windsor Arena (Windsor)
John Labatt Center (London)
One Riverside Drive (Windsor)
Casino Windsor, pluse the new casino tower (Windsor)
WFCU Center (Windsor)
Talbot Center (London)


This is just a quick List. Post any suggestions For BAT's you would like to see from the Windsor London area. Also PM me or post it if you would like to get involved in anyway!

This is great bigskelding! Good idea; I only wish I had the time to learn to BAT. But I'm sure I can be of some help in some way - I know this city better than my own house!

For the barn, I think it's a good start; the texturing does need to be refined, but overall it's a great beginning. Do you plan to model the shops in front of it facing Wyandotte? Or just model the arena itself?

I did my second export today to test out One Riverside Drive. the test went well. the building exported ok and rendered well. theres still some things i need to fix and play around with. I also need to add jobs and night lights to the building but over all i think its coming along nice. what do you think? Dos anyone have any pictures of the building that can post? is there somthing i missed other then the huge parking center next to the build?

In the mean time we are still looking for a name for this project! post your input!

Swiss_Canadian: I had a feeling you would like this idea! and yes i did plan on doing the shops in front of the barn in fact i had already made them but there was a problem in the export and they didnt turn out.

Well... if you REALLY want to make this building realistically accurate, there is a small patio on the left tier of the roof (the side that faces Ouellette Ave.) and on the right tier (that faces the parking garage) there is an access door in the corner closest to the river. There is also a small "porch" of two steps with stainless steel railings under the big glass overhang facing Riverside Dr. - HOW do I know this you ask? No, I'm not THAT obsessed with this city, but my uncle is the property manager of that building, so I've seen it top to bottom and inside-out. Oh, and the sign isn't Chrysler Canada, it says Daimler Chrysler in dark blue lettering - but now I'm just being too nit-picky, sorry.

P.S. How about the name SWOP? (South Western Ontario Project?) Kinda catchy.
