My new BAT i started today:

It is based of this building, in Oslo.

I am planning to make just this main tower, not the other lower section.

I was thinking that it might be possible to create a set of modular pieces to allow people to create their own massive commie block cities. These buildings are often arranged in such a way that each tower is connected in a such a way that would quite easy to replicated in a modular fashion.

It would need set of towers of different heights, and some low-rise base connecting pieces, as well as larger towers to create long 'walls' of commieblocks. If there were corner pieces, and T and X links it would be possible to create massive Soviet Housing projects.

I might try, I might create a small set myself, but if anyone were willing to help we could be able to create a large collection of different styles to add even more variety. If anyone is willing to give this a shot please post below and if there is any interest we could set up a project thread.

thats a great idea, I once thought of doing some sort of modular office complex, but knowing me I would never finish it. Anyways, the towers look great, and best of luck to you you with this project!

As you can see, I made up the parts of the building I couldn't see on the earlier picture. However, I am planning to make a straight version too ands that picture will come in very useful.

Love to hear about that modular approach! I've always been an advocate of such methods because it adds so much possibilities and allows so intense use of the existing models. All you need is some basic variations - well, see the Mega Lot sets I published on the STEX, where I used 6459978's great BATs to recreate entire complexes with comparatively simple means... In fact, a configuration where you have a versatile multi-purpose base and various tower models to put on top has always been one of my dreams.

Anyway, I love the stuff you've posted so far, no matter in which way, shape, or form you're going to release these BATs.

I having some render issues with the Commie blocks, but once I sort it out i'll make sure I do a grey version too.
