i got over 3 million residents, and somewhere in the area of 2 million com jobs on a medium tile in a Tokyo region i once built. pretty remarkable i think considering a good quarter of it was water. the region has somewhere over 8mil i believe. that city was unfortunately lost on another computer =/ my largest current one is 800k on a large tile thats about 2/3 water on a HK map. still having plenty of room for expansion =]

cant remember for a large or small tile, but i had almost 2million on a medium tile

so my simcity 4 all the sudden started chrashing to desktop all the time last night to the point where it wouldnt even start up. i took this as my sign to finally buy/download cities xl. for about 7 hours today i downloaded 2 out of the 3 parts, no problem. but the second (and largest) file has been giving me quite a headache. after about 7 hours it got to 98% and i thought, jeeze its finally done. but no. i stopped, and stayed at 98% for about a half hour, but still was showing it was downloading at "45kb/sec" and had "28mins 30secs" left. then the connection timed and and i had to download it all over again... its timed out like that 5 times now (though its never gotten up to 98% again) and im currently stuck at 22% on my 6th download attemp and i know its going to time out any minute now. i figured if it F's up again this time ill have to contact mc and maybe they can send the segment to me in smaller parts. i know ill eventually get my game, but that paranoid part in the back of my mind keeps telling me ive lost my money, so i guess im looking for some reassurance. has anyone else had this kind of terrible download experience with their game? or do any of you genius tech people out their maybe know some answers as to why my high speed cable internet is now tripping all over itself downloading this one part of the game? thank you

actually, there were almost 10k residents in downtown back in 2000 and due to all the new developement there the last 10 years, id expect the number of people it quite a bit higher now =] its quite nice down there now days anyways, heres a gorgeous key tower you can use https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/details.cfm?id=13844 how far into the east suburbs do you plan on getting? any chance i could see my house out in mentor? =P

ahh as a resident of cleveland, just some tips dont forget to add 90 (the trench) going around on the east and south sides of downtown. the near east side is the "ghetto" and the the east suburbs are all the high class R$$$ areas the west side (especially close to downtown) is actually quite nice good luck! cant wait to see more!

los angeles can simply do what was done in chicago and build the commuter rail lines along/above/in the freeways while there may be a few tough spots in building it, it seams like it would be a much better option than going through neighborhoods and since the freeways already go everywhere in that city, the commuter rail can reach everywhere
