Ham?!? Since when has Ham (or Pork here probably, ham is something served cold in packets here) been the traditional thing to eat at Christmas? Turkey is the way to go. It isn't dry if you cook it right (with a lemon up it's backside), and you have a decent gravy with it.

Doesn't really matter what you eat really, as long as you and your family all sit down together.

Only one? We have both! Heck, where I come from, we have many main dishes on the table!

Ham has been a traditional main course in America for a while.  Goose used to be popular back in the 1800s if you had some money to burn.

Well, if I have to choose, it would have to be ham.  Turkey has no flavor at all, no matter how much you fiddle with it.

But...  It is a tradition in my family to have roast prime rib on Christmas day.  Now that's yummy!  9.gif

My family used to make Thanksgiving 2.0 for Christmas, but we've changed to roast prime rib and mushroom ragu with baked potatoes because its SOOO tasty and I only get to see my family twice a year so we make it very special and they know I like that meal. We have ham for New Years Eve though.

Dry turkey is the cook, not the meat. The first thing you do is throw out the pop-up timer and use a meat thermometer. Cooking the bird upside-down for the first hour makes it super juicy.

I am the turkey king this time of year. Ham is a good choice too, but the bird rules the roost.

We had both and on Boxing Day (December 26th) we have Roast Beef.

I love Turkey, it is not dry as others have mentioned, if you have dry turkey then the person who cooked it made a mess of it......

Well my dinner was just delicious.... 4.gif4.gif

We're a non-traditional type of family...and none of us likes turkey.

Last year, it was Cornish hen.

This year, mom made a nice, big pot of Rigate pasta, drowned in tomato sauce. We ate at noon and I am still digesting it.

Turkey for me. just love the trimings that go with it.

Although an nice honey glazed ham fresh out the oven, i wouldnt kick that off the table. 29.gif

Properly cooked, turkey shouldn't be dry.

Usually, we have both.

We can inspire others through witness so that one grows together in communicating. But the worst thing of all is religious proselytism, which paralyzes: “I am talking with you in order to persuade you.” No. Each person dialogues, starting with his and her own identity. The church grows by attraction, not proselytizing.    - Pope Francis
