Congrats to your achievment, Hal! The props perspective looks really interesting, the other views have a touch of modernism/ cubic pics, which looks cool, btw (I guess I am the only one with these thoughts, well...).

Oh, and I am looking very much to more (I don't always comment when viewing, sorry),

-Interesting stat about SC4D.  Regardless, those are the numbers 3.gif.

Patricius Maximus:  Thanks, although I don't get your numbers.  I'm confused.

lucky7:  Thank you!  They do, don't they?

-That's ok.  Most of the comment has moved to GTR 2.0 in the new section anyways, but I still update here.

rainyday:  Thanks!  Glad you thought it was cool!

fabsies55:  Thank you.  Its a numbers update, so its kinda away from the norm, I know.  3.gif

aaaling:  Try now.  I had it with Photobucket and all new updates are not hosted on that website.

    Update time!

As you may or may not have known, the Bullet Train Mod (BTM) has been released on the STEX.  Dirk and the STEX staff were nice enough to allow me to upload the files (which Jonathan has updated) for all to enjoy.  To celebrate, I have decided to do a BTM showcase throughout the GTR.

Since the beginning, the Bullet Trains have been a key component contributing to the GTR's success as a large, dense region.  They connect everything together in an organized, efficient manner, and gives the public another choice rather than sitting in traffic or taking the slow mass transit system.  They handle high volumes of traffic very well which is essential in the GTR.

One of the oldest bullet train lines in the GTR.  Notice how one way roads are built around it.

    crossingsdec10223120431.jpg

The Bullet Trains in the GTR tend to be overlooked for other things (such as highways, skyscrapers, etc) but this update will give them the recognition they deserve.

This showcase is in random order, and will consist 10 photos.  This is part 1.

Looks like the Bullet Train Mod now has its own three-letter acronym: BTM. On another note, I like the showcasing of the overlooked bullet train network. I suppose it's the backbone of the GTR, not unlike dark matter with galactic clusters.

And, about my numbers: for the view percentage, I place the total number of views over the total number of users on a website. For instance, if a CJ has 10 000 views, and there are 100 000 users on the site it's on, then its percentage would be 10%, as in the number of views is 10% of the number of users. While not entirely accurate, it can be interesting.

Impressive. Nice, complex, and strategic layout of your "bullet network". They are innovative and effective. How do you find they cope with congestion?

Anyways your city is quite dense. I understand that the bullet network is fairly new and hasn't yet had a chance to effectively transfer Sims from one transport to another but I would assume it would have a lot more trains, maybe it's just me. There still is a lot for a normal city.

One thing I really do like is picture ten where you have a main station hub with the parking garages. It shows you really know how to manage the transport network to it's best capacity. Not that you didn't know how to already. This is my favorite city journal on Simtropolis due to the creator utilizing the most out of the network.

Great work Halkackey, again, I am impressed.

    Cheers.

Patricius Maximus:  The BTM term has actually been around for a while (I'd say at least 8 months), only recently has the term become widespread however.

-Ah, I get it now.  I was wondering where you were getting that huge number from, it was the total number of members on ST!  Gotcha!

rusty_777:  Agh!  Why are you replying here?  You said you'd reply @ 2.0 from now on!  3.gif

-Oh well, thanks for the comments!  Make sure you test the BTM in Revelstoke sometime!  I'd love to see a bullet train line there!

    rainyday:  Thanks!  Here it is...

GreekMan:  Thanks a lot!  Its more you want?  That's what you'll get 3.gif.

Glad you got my numbers. Part II of the BTM was the best showcase yet. I love how it goes over the RHW-4 transitioning to a 6S, and I also like how it goes parallel to the diamond interchange. I must confess that I've always had an affinity for RHW-6s's split with a treed median.

Also, I am pleased to have my 1800th post here.

Amazing! I never knew how much Bullet train is in the GTR! Also how did you texture the NAM curves? I downloaded some pack to do it but it did not work.

Whoa, lots of comments!  I think this is a record since GTR 2.0 was created in the new section.  Glad I still have an audience here!

    Schulmanator:  Hey, thanks a lot!

    TmiguelT:  Hehe, thanks!  It's coming!

jacqulina:  Ah, always great to hear that.  Thanks!

Patricius Maximus:  Took me long enough.  3.gif  Yes it always looks good like that eh?  Thanks again!

NMUSpidey:  Thank you very much!  Glad you like the BTM!

driftmaster07:  Yep, there's a ton of it here!  There's a ton of textures for NAM curves on the STEX.  Make sure you download both the texture you want and the t21 data.

Petrovar Ambassador:  Hey, thanks a lot!

rainyday:  Thanks a ton!  I'm happy you liked it!

GreekMan:  lol!  Mass transit is the mode of choice in the GTR, that's for sure!  3.gif

edmonton_stinks:  lol, unrealistically good?   3.gif  Awesome!

    Update Time!

Finally I have a new video to show you all!  It's been a while since I've made one (back in Feb I think) so I thought I will bring it back.

Don't worry, I still have part 3 of the BTM series in the works, but we'll take a break from that for a little bit before I get back to it.

This video showcases the most overlooked form of transportation in the GTR:  Rail.  You'll be pleased to know that there's a strong network of standard rails throughout the GTR, and is a useful mode of commuters and freight.  This video will focus on a portion of Terran Settlement's network.

It has also been sped up 50% to keep it interesting.  I don't want to bore you lol!

Two Youtube video boxes should appear below.  If you can't see them or are having problems, follow the link below them.  Oh, and make sure you turn up your speakers!

    HD troubleshooting:

-Make sure you have the latest version of Java and an up-to date flash player.  HD videos can also be choppy on slower connections, so you might need to wait for a bit to buffer.

I hope you enjoy the new video, whatever definition you view it in 3.gif.

    Update time!

This will be the third and final installment of my bullet train updates.  After this its off to new content.

    Pictures

Click the images for full resolution! (1920x1200.)

Let's begin with this line in Crossings.  As you can see it was constructed over the water due to the lack of land.

-Many Bullet Train lines in Japan are also constructed in a similar fashion.  The same thing goes with the motorway network, especially in the Tokyo area.

    crossingsapr12241217040.jpg

Looking further down the same line, we see a pretty significant junction in this space-constrained part of town.

-You can tell this is an old area of the GTR because of the at-grade rail crossings and the original RHW textures.

    crossingsapr42241217040.jpg

Here's the one of the first dual bullet train lines to be constructed in the GTR.  A dual line setup enables local connections to be made easily while the main line is free of stations.  It also doubles the capacity of the network, but consumes twice the amount of land.

    terransettlementaug2431.jpg

Here's a pic of a bullet train leaving Downtown in one of the protected corridors.

    downtownmay272331236454.jpg

One of the older, and most major junctions for the GTR's bullet train lines south of the main financial area.

This bullet train line whizzes past a CBD to the west.

    downtownmar152321212164.jpg

    West-side exchange.

    downtownapr182291206646.jpg

Here's a rare shot of the GTR's waterfront where a bullet train line enters the median of the basinside artery.

    crossingsmay62241217040.jpg

An old, outdated junction that causes the bullet trains to travel at a slow speed to make a turn without derailment.  This was originally a monorail junction which existed before region's bullet train network, which mainly provided intercity connections for Crossings.  The BTM has since completely replaced the GTR's monorail networks.

    crossingsmar30224121704.jpg

Inter-region BTM line in rural GTR.

    fernisbaynov24011228354.jpg

And lastly, a small mosaic of the BTM in Mighty Mouth.

    clipboard011y.jpg

    And that will do it!

Stay tuned for new content, including more RHWs, reconstruction and High Definition GTR Signage!

Edit: I guess not.  Page "burp" I guess?  3.gif  Must have something to do with the current fourm upgrade.

Second edit:   I guess its fixed now, whatever it was.
