Not only are the transition points not static, but the ranks themselves aren't, either, as this shows:

    -Just Arrived (added early 2005)

    -Stranger (added 2004)

    -Passerby

    -Squatter

    -Tourist

    -Local Yokel

    -Dweller

    -Resident

    -Commoner

    -Citizen

    -Suburbanite (added summer/fall 2003)

    -Urbanite

    -City Slicker

    -Statesman

    -Mogul (added 2005)

    -Loyalist

    -Patriot

    -Veteran

    -Dignitary

    -Local Legend (addded fall 2003)

    -Local Hero (added fall 2003)

    -Suburban Legend (added fall 2003)

    -Suburban Hero (added fall 2003)

    -Urban Legend

    -Hometown Hero (added fall 2003)

    -Celebrity (added spring 2004)

    -Simtropolis Geek (added spring 2004)

-Simtropolis Enthusiast (added 2004, shortened to "Simtrop Enthusiast" April 2006)

-Simtropolis Devotee (added ???, shortened to "Simtrop Devotee" April 2006)

-Simtropolis Aficionado (added ???, shortened to "Simtrop Aficionado" April 2006)

-Simtropolis Junkie (added ???, shortened to "Simtrop Junkie" April 2006)

-Simtropolis Zealot (added ???, shortened to "Simtrop Zeaot" April 2006)

-Simtropolis Connoisseur  (added ???, shortened to "Simtrop Connoisseur" April 2006, came before Zealot prior to April 2006)

-Some Random Label (added late 2005/early 2006)

It's not known when those higher ones were added since prior to the upgrade to 5.0 (April 2006), Custom Labels overwrote generic ranks instead of supplementing them, and no one had gotten that high without getting a custom label. They would have been unrevealed prior to 5.0 had the admins not taken volunteers from high posters to have their custom labels temporarily removed to show their ranks. And you'll have to excuse the vague dates of addition. I don't remember more specifially. I could start digging through things to fins some out more specifically, but I'm lazy. A read through the Custom Member Label club thread should provide some info on that, though.

Also, "Some Random Label" is not the highest rank, it appears randomly and goes away after a few posts. Of course, nothing in a computer is ever truly random, so there is in fact a complex algorithm behind its appearance. And so far as I'm aware, not even the admins know what it is. Only dirk.

I think I was the first recorded person to get 'Some Random Label'. If I remember correctly, I got it at 2000 posts. I'd have to go through the Custum Label Club thread again.

you know what whould be like the most awesome thing ever since rankings here?

if the list above would contain the postcount neccessary to achieve the rank.

Not that I care about the ranking anyway, I post when I post and I don't post when I don't post, but it would be cool nevertheless. :-)

Shouldn't this be in Simtropolis Related?

There have been so many threads on this.

Moved to Simtropolis Related since this topic is Simtropolis related.

I think Duke covered them all since he's our unofficial fact-checker... and he's usually never wrong about these kinds of things.

    Well, this is new:

    "Musketeer". Huh.

As for whether or not "Mogul" is still there.... look for someone with about or just over 1000 posts and see what they have. That's the range it was in. Not a label I ever had, since I was past there by the time it was added.

EDIT: Hold on a tad. How did he manage to post at 12:10 PM on March 30th, 2008 when it's only 1:30 AM on March 30th, 2008 right now? Time traveller!6.gif

All depends on your timezone my dear Duke.

Check the time of your post in New Zealand mate.  It would appear you are time travelling too...

Well, I have just about over 1000 posts and never got that name...guess that rank was changed to statesman or whatever some time ago...

Okay, now I feel old. Why in my day, Simtropolis universally ran on Eastern time and there was no feature that allowed you to adjust it to display your local time if you lived in a different time zone. And we had to walk fifteen miles uphill in the snow just to make a post.34.gif

Seriously, I completely forgot that feature had been added. In fact, it did occur to me that "oh, maybe he's somewhere really far east and thus it's not the future where he is", but then I said "no, that wouldn't explain it, Simtropolis just displays Eastern time no matter what and doesn't give you the option to change it".

I suppose the fact that I'm on Eastern time anyway and thus absolutely nothing changed for me contributed to that. Whoops!

Wow, i never noticed! Cool, lol. 4.gif

I believe that the amount of ranks, and the order of ranks is never in a set order. They are re-arrainged by the admins when ever they become bored. 3.gif

...and in my day I had to walk fifty miles uphill to make a post, barefoot in the snow, and then back again ... uphill both ways... and when you logged on you had to wait for the VALVES to warm up.

Do you youngins even KNOW what valves are?

Edit:  Look what I just found... yay!
