A Change of Plans

January 21st, 0165AL (2021)

Daniel: So, where are you going to next?

Brad: P3X-787. Should be nice and quiet there, the scan from the gate showed no inhabitants.

Daniel: It sounds like is should be an easy mission

Brian: Yes.

A rumbling sound like a distant explosion filled the air and dissipated in a few second, to be replaced with an alarm.

Daniel: What was that?

Brian: I don't know, we should find that out.

Meanwhile, the citizens of Galesfe City watched in horror as a large fireball appeared high in the sky to the north of the city, and a flaming trail erupted from it, heading south. As it traveled deeper into the city it continued to lose altitude, and then sideswiped a skyscraper along the north side waterfront.

it continued to the south, and impacted the water at high speed, narrowly avoiding the M-11 bridge.

Brad, Brian, and Dr. Hapsedut arrived in the area before the smoke had fully cleared, and their jumper dove into the water near where the object had impacted.

 Gen. Yelslew: Can you detect anything?

 Laur: Nothing significant. It appears the object broke apart when it hit the water, or the building.

Brian: Or both.

 Laur: There is a lot of twisted metal and other unidentifiable objects, it might be easier to identify once the dust settles to the bottom, but it isn't likely.

 Gen. Yelslew: Okay, come back for now.

Brad: It would be nice if we could know what that was.

 Laur: Well, it wasn't an asteroid, it would have been detected earlier, and an asteroid would have smashed though the building instead of bouncing off. It is probably a ship of some sort, that blew up  and crashed into the city.

Brian: But--

*BOOOOOOOOOMMMMM*

Brad: What should we do?

 Gen. Yelslew: Come back to the base, there has been a change of plans.

 Laur: So what exactly will we be doing?

 Gen. Yelslew: P3X-787 can wait, 4 unidentified people have been detected on the city sensors, near where the last explosion took place. I will explain further once you are back.

Should have been more specific. What I meant was that Lianne does pretty well modifying his own arm, though it's not nearly as advanced as Brad's.

As for the story... well, what a dramatic entrance! Who's going to pay for the building damage?

Interesting... I like explosions. Great effects though, the explosions looked great, I like explosions. I can't wait to see what happens next, and I also like explosions. I like your city building and explosions too. The park looks nice, I like explosions and some greenery in an urban environment, as well as explosions.

Oh, by the way did I mention that I liked explosions?

Ah, falling jaws can be dangerous. Fortunately, though, that no one is dropping steel toes, nerves of steel, or iron jaws. That would also hurt alot.

A Change of Plans, part 2

January 21st, 0165AL (2021)

Lt. Col. Duvanre: We will head up to the west of them, and try to corner them, understand?

Major Zargolf: Yes, sir!

They watched as the jumper took off and flew into the city.

Brian: I think that whatever it is that we are tacking knows we are here.

Major Zargolf: Which way?

Brian: Currently they are heading to the southwest.

Major Zargolf: We're going after them.

They continued to follow the lifesigns deeper into the city, and soon crossed M-11, now empty since the area was evacuated.

Brad: I don't remember ever seeing the city this empty.

Brian: The blizzard of '51 was probably the closest.

Brian: They went in this building.

Major Zargolf: Okay, everyone get ready.

 Lt. Col. Duvanre: DPM-5 is on the other side of the building, we are about to enter.

Major Zargolf: As are we.

Major Zargolf: Brad and Brian, you go with Lt. Black, and Laur, you are with me.

Lt. Black: Yes, sir.

 Laur: Okay.

Brad: Okay.

They walked down the stairs into the basement, and came to an open door that led into a large storage room.

Lt. Black: Where are they?

Brian: On the other side of the room, behind the boxes.

They aimed their guns into the room while hiding behind the wall, but before they could enter, there was an explosion from the other side of the room, followed by shouts and gunfire.

Lt. Black: What happened?

Brian: I think they met DPM-5... there is still one lifesign in the room though.

They advanced into the room while keeping their guns ready, and saw that the lifesign was a female muphridian, wearing a black uniform with yellow stripes on the shoulders.

Lt. Black: It looks similar to what the muphridian we found in Namora was wearing, except that one didn't have the stripes.

Lt. Black: (On radio) Sir, we go one of them.

 Major Zargolf: Good. The other three got past DPM-5 and are on the run again.

 Gen. Yelslew: Where are you?

Lt. Black: Basement of the first building the group entered, sir.

 Gen. Yelslew: Stay there until it is collected, then continue after the others.

Lt. Black: Yes, sir.

Several seconds later, the muphridian vanished in a flash of light.

Brad: We have beaming tech now?

Lt. Black: I don't know... I assume that means that she has been collected, lets go.

They ran out of the back of the building and past the skyscraper behind it, then down to a road next to the light rail line, where they met Laur and Major Zargolf.

Lt. Black: Looks like the police got to them.

Brian: But if they are the same as the one we found in Namora, can they handle them?

They begin running toward the enemy though the cover of the forest when the saw a large green fireball erupt in front of the police cars, which traveled down the street engulfing anything in its way.
