War Zone

As the continued to watch the group, they ran around the corner, stopped, and then a small lightning bolt came back around the corner, just as there was a flash of light from behind them. Major Zargolf and Lt. Black pointed their guns at the newcomer, but then lowered them when they saw who it was.

 Lauren: Hello.

Brad: You were the one that beamed that one muphridian out, right?

 Lauren: Yes. The rest will be harder, though.

One of the enemy muphridians walked out in the middle of the intersection, and then began shooting out more green fire, and one from around the corner did the same. Lauren raised her arms, and even more green fire appeared, flying at the enemy.

The fire met in the middle of the street, and quickly began forming a massive fireball.

 Lauren: I can't keep doing this forever, you know.

Major Zargolf: Fire!

DPM-2 opened fire on the muphridian in the intersection, who quickly dropped, and part of the fireball dissipated, followed by the rest of the fireball, as Lauren, and the remaining enemy, stopped their attack.

 Communicator: I have a lock on the target.

 Lauren: Go.

Another flash of light engulfed the fallen muphridian, just as another fireball appeared around the corner. Lauren got ready to return fire, but the fireball disappeared several seconds later.

Brian: The lifesigns dissapeared...

Lauren stared at the intersection for a few seconds before looking back at DPM-2

 Lauren: They're gone, a pile of ash is all that is left. Oh, and before I forget.

She waved her arm at the burning apartment building, and the fires went out.

Lt. Black: It's nice you can do that, too.

 Lauren: Yes, if you can create fires, you have to be able to put them out as well.

 Laur: Indeed.

They began walking down to where the other muphridians were.

Major Zargolf: Where is DPM-5?

Brian: I think they're coming, I see them on the lifesigns detector.

DPM-5 appeared at the light rail crossing after running along side of the tracks.

 Lt. Col. Duvanre: Sorry, we got a little lost in the building after the explosion. Whoa, this place looks like a war zone...

 Lauren: Yes, that tends to happen when there are fire fights, especially when there is both types of fire fights going on.

 Lt. Col. Duvanre: What?

 Lauren: Gunfire and fire fire.

 Lt. Col. Duvanre: Oh.

They stopped at the intersection, and looked around.

 Lauren: See, I told you they disappeared.

 Lt. Col. Duvanre: But where did they go.

 Lauren: I think that is them.

As she said this, she pointed at the pile of ash on the edge of the road.

Wow, when I think of war zones I imagine the city flaming and falling apart, bridges collapsing, skyscrapers smashing into each other, army capturing civilians, etc.

Galactic Chaos

Major Zargolf: Okay, we're ready to go.

DPM-2 vanished from the RDPM, and materialized on the bridge of Lauren's ship, where they saw a blond muphridian at the controls.

???: Lauren should be coming soon.

As the muphridian turned back to the controls, the door opened and Lauren walked in.

 Lauren: So far, we haven't found anything odd in Myon's orbit.

Major Zargolf: What will you do if nothing is found?

 Lauren: We'll search around Pyán as well. Also, I have something to tell you.

Lt. Black: What?

 Lauren: Recently, galactic politics are getting much wilder, and Mloret seems to be at the center of it. Several planets have been attacked and leveled, including Daniel Jackson's, and others are reporting odd events that may be related to these other muphridians that were here. In addition to that, most of the other Dlorwani appear to be joining forces, presumably to stop Mloret

Brian: So Mloret is going to throw the galaxy into chaos?

 Lauren: I'm not sure about that, but Mloret is powerful enough to cause who knows how much trouble, and with the other Dlorwani joining together, this may cause major problems for the Blitkarni Rebellion as well.

???: The scan of Myon's orbit is complete.

 Lauren: Good, Maraina, begin a basic scan of Pyán.

Maraina: Beginning scan now.

 Lauren: Since I have arrived here, I have also picked up strange subspace transmissions coming from New Carpathia as well.

Major Zargolf: Define strange.

 Lauren: The government seems to be in complete disarray, and something big is definitely going on, but I couldn't get anything specific from any of the transmissions. Plus, there seems to have been some sort of explosion in a part of New Carpathia called Imperator, but that doesn't seem to be what the other transmissions are talking about.

Brad: Could that be Mloret, too?

 Lauren: It's possible, but right now, I don't know.

Just as she finished talking, the ship's computer beeped.

Maraina: There's something in orbit around Pyán, but the sensors can't get a good description of it, it's just there.

 Lauren: Plot a course to the object, and continue scanning it.

Maraina: Plotting course.

A path appeared on the screen appeared showing the projected path of the ship, and then the ship lurched before the inertial dampers fully came on line.

The windows automatically darkened as the ship turned toward the sun, and the ship began to rapidly accelerate. The ship skimmed the outer atmosphere of Myon on its way, and Myon was quickly behind them.

Brian: Do we really need to go this fast?

 Lauren: Fast? If I wanted to go fast, I would have activated the hyperdrive, that would get us there in about a second! And hang on for a little bit.

She walked over to the screen and began looking at the sensor data that was coming in.

The ship slowed and entered orbit over Pyán, which blocked the sun from view.

Brad: Good thing we don't have to land.

Brian: Indeed.

 Lauren: We got a lock on the object, it appears to be a cloaked ship of some sort. Maraina, transport the probe.

Maraina: Transporting now.

The screen changed to show data coming in fro the probe, and it showed a dark ship, and it also showed that it had viable life support, but no lifesigns were aboard.

Major Zargolf: This must be what they were going to use to leave, before they were captured... We're ready to go.

 Lauren: Who is going?

Major Zargolf: Laur, Lt. Black, and myself.

 Lauren: Okay.

Maraina: Transporting now, and returning probe.

Laur, Major Zargolf, and Lt. Black vanished in a flash of light, and the probe appeared in their place.

 Laur: I believe that this is a Dlarya that we are on.

Laur walked over to one of the consoles and began to look at it.

Major Zargolf: And it looks like there was a flight on here, there are several burn marks on the walls.

 Laur: It belongs to Vladarkum.

Lt. Black: Who?

 Laur: He is the Dlorwani that Myon first made contact with. Well, indirectly made contact with, he was Kloren's leader.

Lt. Black: Oh.

Major Zargolf: The muphridians must have gone though the stargate from Mloret's territory, then stole this ship, as well as whatever they crashed into the city, from Vladarkum before coming here.

 Laur: And I am decloaking the ship now.

As Brad, Brian, Lauren, and Maraina watched from the other ship, a Dlarya materialized into view a short way away.

Meanwhile, aboard the Dlarya, Major Zargolf pulled out his communicator and contacted General Yelslew.

Major Zargolf: We got their ship.

 Gen. Yelslew: Good, bring it back and park it in orbit over Myon so that we can check it.

And yup, Carpathia is a mess. Standby... You'll be receiving a transmission from from both Admiral Luthien and Lord Luxord. That should confuse the situation even more.

Anyway, can't wait to see what they find on that ship.

The Edge

February 17th, 0165AL (2021)

Brian: It seems the muphridians crashed an unmanned ship into the city to distract us, while they flew down in a cloaked Dlarya, which they detonated to further distract us. The 3rd Dlarya seems to be the ship they would use to escape, but they never got a chance to bring it in.

 Lt. Col. Meiring: That's interesting, and now there are problems in New Carpathia as well... It seems we left just in time to get away from whatever is going on there.

Brian: At least now we should be able to go home and relax while Laur and Major Zargolf travel out past the edge of the galaxy.

 Lt. Col. Meiring: Yes...

Meanwhile, on the other side of the galaxy, the Valmal was nearing its destination, the Hasaq system. Hasaq was previously claimed by the al'Hasiq as a research station, but they abandon it during the Muphridish-al'Hasiq War, and they haven't returned to it since, even though more than ten years have passed since the war ended.

Captain Vashuri: Lt. Kalmul, please report to the bridge.

 Lt. Kalmul: Right away.

Captain Vashuri: It seems like he is always on the holodeck...

First Officer Chatakra: Well, he doesn't have anything to do and there's not much else to do on this ship...

Captain Vashuri: I know. I think the same could be said of a lot of other people on the Valmal as well.

The door to the bridge opened and Lt. Kalmul walked in and took hi place at the controls, and the ensign who was there got up and moved to an open seat.

Cormani: We are approaching our destination.

Captain Vashuri: Drop us out of the wormhole.

Ensign Yarin manipulated the controls, and an opening appeared in front of them, which the ship flew out of to return to normal space. Once clear of the wormhole, the Valmal began flying toward the 3rd moon of the only planet in the system, a green gas giant.

 Mardon: I am picking up an object in orbit around the moon that appears to be an al'Hasiq Karoteq class starship, status of the vessel is dormant.

The Valmal approached the Karoteq, and further scans showed that it seemed to have been abandon when the al'Hasiq left the area.

Captain Vashuri: Cmdr. Chatakra, assemble an away team to examine the Karoteq.

1st Officer Chatakra, along with Laur, Mardon, Cormani, Lt. Kalmul, and Ensign Martin took one of the Valmal's runabouts over to the Karoteq to begin their examination of the vessel.

Once they had landed the runabout in one of the Karoteq's hangars, the group made their way the the bridge, and Lt. Kalmul sat in the control chair as he was the only one in the group with the ATA/HTA gene required to use it. The main systems began to activate, and the data screens turned on, showing that the ship only had 20% of its maximum power available. First Officer Chatakra activated the communications system from a secondary control panel and contacted the Valmal.

1st Officer Chatakra: We have been successful in reactivating the ship, but it is operating on limited power.

Captain Vashuri: How much power?

1st Officer Chatakra: 20 percent.

Captain Vashuri: That should be plenty of power as long as we don't have to do anything major.

1st Officer Chatakra: It also appears to have information collected here at the base.

Captain Vashuri: Is it possible to copy the Karoteq's database onto the Valmal?

1st Officer Chatakra: I'm not sure...

Lt. Kalmul: Yes, it is possible, Captain.

Captain Vashuri: Begin data transfer.

Various diagrams and text began appearing and changing at a high speed on the data screens as the data was copied onto the Valmal's main and secondary databases.

Lt. Kalmul: The transfer is complete.

Captain Vashuri: Good. Now... wait a minute.

1st Officer Chatakra: What is it?

Captain Vashuri: There's an unidentified blip on the sensors, can you see what it is?

A sensor map appeared on one of the data screens, which clearly showed 5 ships on a course taking them directly to the Hasaq system.

Lt. Kalmul: There are 5 ships incoming in hyperspace, unknown class, arrival time is less than a minute.

Captain Vashuri: Go to yellow alert!

There was a scramble on the bridge of the Valmal as the crew got prepared for a possible conflict, and Lt. Kalmul raised the Karoteq's shields just as the Valmal did the same.

Cormani: Maximum shield strength is only 23%!

The five ships dropped out of hyperspace and began to approach the Valmal and the Karoteq.

The Scourge

February 17th, 0165AL (2021)

Lt. Bariel: I think they are scanning us.

Captain Vashuri: Hail them.

Lt. Bariel: No response.

Captain Vashuri: I don't think Zanapolis or Amanz are in any state to do joint projects, and the other 2 ships are not in the database... Wait... Computer, check the database from the Karoteq for the unknown ships.

 Computer: Beginning scan.

Lt. Bariel: They've stopped scanning... They're powering weapons!

Captain Vashuri: Evasive maneuvers, now! Red alert!

As the Valmal turned around, there was a massive jolt that knocked Captain Vashuri out of her chair, and caused the Valmal to start spinning.

 Computer: Shields are at 76%.

Captain Vashuri: Switch from thrusters to AGPUs, and return fire! And what did they hit us with?

Ensign Yarin: Power has been transferred to the AGPUs.

Lt. Bariel: Targeting beam weapons, and they seem to use some sort of pulsed beam weapons.

As the main thrusters powered down, the Valmal returned fire at one of the enemy ship, while dropping to avoid another beam.

 Computer: The specified vessels are controlled by the Pucharok, also known as Extragalactic Scourge by some civilizations.

Captain Vashuri: Computer, contact the Karoteq.

Captain Vashuri: Is your hyperdrive ready?

Lt. Kalmul: Not yet, it is currently charging.

Cormani: Shields are at 9%

Lt. Kalmul: Firing drone weapons.

47 drones flew out from the bottom of the Karoteq and began impacting the Pucharok's Zanapolis ship's shields, and shortly after, they made it though ,and ripped though the ship.

 Mardon: One down, 4 to go!

Shortly after the first ship was destroyed, another was taken out by the main weapons on the Karoteq.

Lt. Bariel: They're turning around?

Captain Vashuri: They're going for the Karoteq... Is your hyperdrive ready now?

Lt. Kalmul: Yes, activating now.

Just as the hyperspace window opened, the Karoteq shook violently as a beam made it though the shield and blasted across the top of the hull, and the hyperspace window collapsed.

 Laur: Hyperdrive, sublight drives, weapons and shields are offline, all other systems functioning.

Captain Vashuri: Get out of there!

Lt. Bariel: The Scourge is powering down weapons? What are they doing? 

1st Officer Chatakra: They're beaming onto the ship... They don't want to destroy it, they want to take it...

Ensign Martin contacted them on his communicator from outside the room.

 Ensign Martin: They're mechanical, I can't see any sign of organic par--

Weapons fire was heard on the communicator, then it went silent, but then the door to the bridge was forced open from outside, and a 6 legged spider-like robot walked in, extended two guns from its main body, and fired both at Mardon. Mardon stepped backwards from the force of the impact, but the blast caused no visible damage on him. He pulled his own gun out and fired at the robot, which shot out sparks and collapsed to the floor.

Lt. Kalmul: More are coming.

Captain Vashuri: Set the self destruct and get out of there. We can't let them have a Karoteq, who knows what they will do with it.

The lights on the bridge turned red and began to flash, and Mardon, Cormani, Lt. Kalmul, Laur, 1st Officer Chatakra, the disabled robot, and Ensign Martin's body vanished, and reappeared on the Valmal.

The Valmal began flying back in the direction of the galaxy as several explosions occurred on the Karoteq, followed by one massive on that totally disrupted the ship, and took out one of the Scourge ships in the process.

Captain Vashuri: Raise a containment field around the robot, and activate the Wapbervklex drive.

Just as the wormhole opened and the Valmal began to fly into it, and energy blast hit them from behind.

 Computer: Shields are at 22%.

Myoria

Myoria is a province of Myon located on the island of Atlankynam, also known as Atlantica Alba, which is located in the Atlantic Ocean.

This is the town of Meira, located to the east of Kelneim in Karei country. Meira has its own ferry terminal, but it is no used as often as the ferry terminals in Kelneim.

Myoria pictures will show up occasionally, usually when the story contains few SC4 pics, and when I have time.
