Here is mine, Ritter's Point.  I still have some development to do, but it is looking rather nice.  This is the first CBD I have had that is post-worthy!  The Hotel District is to the left next to the Arena and Stadium.

How did you build an avenue and other things under the bridge? I have the deluxe version (it comes with the rush hour expansion pack) and I can't build ANYTHING underneath the bridge except make the river wider!

The avenue under the bridge is on the stex. It is a mod that allows transportation networks to get dragged under bridges. Type avenue under bridge or highway under bridge. You'll find it. As for the seawalls, each seawall pack comes with a special lot that has overhang to place under bridges and stuff. Hope it helps,

Hope you like. I think I'll be starting an MD at Sc4devotion as I prefer the way it's set up over there. No offense to Simtropolis. Please tell me what you think! quote>

this looks smooth.

You're wrong. There's no mod like that, dragging networks under bridges is not possible.

You can achieve this by using overhanging lots (http://klex.blog85.fc2.com/blog-entry-11.html) which act as subway stops and convert the road traffic to subway at the sides of the bridge.

Jayster, that looks terrific. I see that you built an El-over-road. Very nice.

"Whether it be the sweeping eagle in his flight, or the open apple-blossom, the toiling work-horse, the blithe swan, the branching oak, the winding stream at its base, the drifting clouds, over all the coursing sun, form ever follows function, and this is the law."

Here's my first CBD in more than 4 years...yeah, it's been that long since I had the urge to play the game2.gif

qrvd4city0005.jpg

At night:

qrvd4city0006.jpg

This city tile was completed about a week ago and currently has a pop of 165k with a mix of dense/medium zoning.  All 'grass' areas are now complemented with trees and I'm also going to be removing that twisted teal/white residential bld from my plugins, can't stand blds without lights no matter how much I like them.

Enjoy.

Progress from the 'burbs to my downtown core. The city is named Annecy (got if from the region that I downloaded... I'm pretty unoriginal with city names.) This is the main part of the city, holding the downtown and then sprawling out into suburbs.

Some farmland and a nine-hole golf course.

annecy4.jpg

More of the golf course, and a small hotel bordering the small river leading into the lake that the town sits on.

annecy3.jpg

An older suburb area, with mature pines.

annecy5.jpg

The modern hospital right across the highway from the old walled city. Many churches still reside in there, along with some small houses and the modern city's City Hall.

annecy6.jpg

The two sports stadiums share a parking lot right next to the lake.

annecy2.jpg

The tip of the downtown core; holding the majority of Annecy's major commercial and residential population.

Fishermanivan, great job! I like your very realistic golf course, and your use of One Canada Square. It looks nice out on that peninsula!

crushedcar, cool CBD! The seawalls are really cool there!

Blade, for coming back after four years, your CBD looks great. BTW,  that area on the left side of the river with all of those closely packed white apartments reminds me a bit of an Australian city. Good job!

Thanks.1.gif  I just love European style buildings and use them exclusively for my residential areas, especially in more densely populated areas.  Those rows of tightly packed apartments are all 1x1's  with a space between the zoning as to plant trees to add a little green to a concrete jungle.  Can never have enough trees IMO.

Here are some pics of my city Bendran. Right now I am still working on it therefore the population is only about 207,000. I used Houston, Tx as my inspiration with multiple, modern, skylines, and a very urban yet sprawly setting. In both the Uptown and Downtown areas, all of my buildings are grown, not plopped. It took a lot of luck and bulldozing to get my areas to grow the way I was hoping for them to.

@Cobra_nVidia : I miss open spaces and trees in the last picture. Other than that, good work  (I won't call it epic, because that's against the real meaning of 'epic' 2.gif)

Now, some pictures inside the CBD Area in my region, Bayford City.
