Here is the CBD of the City of Clearwater, a midwestern city with a population of approximately 325,000, with 1 million in the metro.

A long time lurker, one of my first few posts, and I welcome thoughts and suggestions, a CJ on the Clearwater Metro Area is in the works.

Wow, nice lightning, porter! I'd like to see a daytime picture, because it looks like a great city too. I have to say, Aleking wins 1st place for realism. That's one of the best I've seen yet (not that this is a big competition).

Thanks. Those are just the in game bridges.

Where did you get those fountain lots in front of city hall?

thanks, blakesterville

@ aiumkastarkius:

it's one of Pegasus' fountains (probably from the STEX), but if you don't find it, it's pretty easy to make in the lot editor:  water base texture + frame overlay texture with a fountain effect

First Post here- Hi all.

My Downtowns have tried to emulate the American/Australian Grid+Park city style.

Naylor CBD:

naylordec20181240990563.png

Naylor is suffering from a bit of lot repitiion at the moment, but it's on the rise.

Portland:

portlandapr532124099084.png

Portland started off as a sort of Tribute to Portland, Oregon but it soon evolved into something a little more over the top. It's my single biggest city so far.

Tacoma:

tacomafeb27381240989872.png

Tacoma is by far my best city so far. It was heavily planned, with the grid layout allowing incremental growth that just looks... natural.

The very centre of town:

Finally, Brainerd CBD:

Brainerd is a very low density suburban centre, but it's one of the most efficient cities in the region- with a very leafy downtown.

Currently my best CBD in D-1 (Excel style grid naming system 3.gif). The population of it (~547k) just surpassed the previous largest city in the reigon, it's neighbor two cities to the west, B-1 (~543k). B-1 has a nice CBD that I might post, but it actually has two, and the bigger one isn't as pretty, so I'm posting this one for now, it looks best and has the most tall buildings. The pics are a little older, but they'll do. Oh yeah I remember to do JPEG this time, but I set it at 100% (I always do, can't stand doing it lower except on photos), so it's still >1 MB, but it about halfed its PNG size, so it's an improvement 3.gif

You can see some other pics of this city in the Show us your interchanges thread if you're bored 4.gif

EDIT: See what I mean by outdated, this looks much better 4.gif (Population up to like 587k now). No zoomed in pic this time, but I have something better, a city overview pic 9.gif

Here's downtown Oceantown. Not a very impressive downtown size-wise, but a nice small downtown of a small peninsular city, located on the Mestina peninsular. It is also one of the cities of my CJ

@sodatwin: Excellent picture, may I ask where to get the palms you used at your beach and in the park (I don't mean the Goldiva ones). I saw them once before, but I never found them anywhere! Thanks a lot
