Superb downtown, Ioan! We can feel the ambiance from the LA in LA noire. Good job.

I'll take a quiet life... A handshake of carbon monoxide.

Love it! It's definitely my kind of town.

"Whether it be the sweeping eagle in his flight, or the open apple-blossom, the toiling work-horse, the blithe swan, the branching oak, the winding stream at its base, the drifting clouds, over all the coursing sun, form ever follows function, and this is the law."

This is downtown San Jose from a Bay Area region map I found on the STEX. It's not how it looks in real life; it's just my own city I built and called it that based on the area the tile was in. Anyway, it's on a large tile and has a population of 79,200, with plenty of area still to develop, if I want.

Here it is:

Thank you all for the feedback :)

Wrightguy0, it's made by Simgoober and I probably got it from one of his building packs from the LEX, unfortunately I don't remember which one.

Great! I also can smell the LA noir atmosphere! I love the troleys, and the old pavement of streets, I'd like those buildings for my downtown LA! LOL

LA Noire inspired me to develop a mid-20th century city

85871113.jpg

Sorry, but I have to say it: since I'm building my own downtown LA (see my CJ) this square in the middle of the picture is perfect as Pershing Square during the 80's just before the last redevelopment of the the square. But not only that, there are many buildings I could use.

So, once again CONGRATULATIONS! You did a good and a very realistic job. Now, where can I get this square from?

lo_bg, I am obsessed with those shots. What a beautiful city. As a former LA resident, it really rings true. I want to ask you where you got just about every building, but for now I'll keep it to two:

1) The beautiful building directly across from the park with the ornamental arches and roof terrace.

2) The church in the same picture.

I am newer to the game, so I apologize if these are "duh" files that everybody knows where to find, or if they'll pop up magically in a later growth state.

Not a "functional" CBD as I just created this to play with, but this is a nice pic so I thought I'd share :)

"If you try to please everybody, you often times end up pleasing nobody, especially yourself. When somebody offers to do a favor for free, like making a mod for SimCity 4, you shouldn't be overly critical of something generously given to you. In other words, you shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth." - Twilight Sparkle after playing SimCity

"Being a mayor or a content creator for SimCity 4 is a heavy responsibility, Patrick. Each city and each custom content is like a child, and must be treated as such." - SpongeBob Squarepants after playing SimCity

"Without deviation from the norm, progress is not possible." - Frank Zappa

"The wisest men follow their own direction." - Euripides
