I still love my PC. Games for PC still outsell all other platform games.

Until I can openly mod PS3 or XBOX games, it will stay PC for me.

Note: Among my aquaintances: The Wii is not being mentioned an awful lot. Those who have one, have become suddenly bored of it. Those who don't, won't, because it's so physical.

360 is great, except for the red lights scam. How long has that been out now? And they STILL can't fix it. This is MICROSOFT. Hmm, wait a minute. Oh yeah, this is Microsoft. Nevermind. Yeah, my 360 broke, twice. I still love COD4.

I owned, or have owned all 4 major gaming platforms and.. PC is certainly the best, moddability, patches, Support. Coming in 2nd is Xbox 360, Nice controller, great games, the only crap part is Xbox live costs money, and that makes me sad. PS3, Wonderful blu-ray player......JK Its a very pretty platform and stable too, but most of the best games out there goto PC and X360, though there are some sweet titles coming soon. WII......For kids and women.(C'mon ladies, you know you adore the Wii)

See, this is what I don't get. Why does it being "more than just a game console" impress people? If I buy a console thingy to plug into my TV, if it can play games, I'm satisfied. Nowadays, everything can play DVDs as well, though that's really just an added bonus and isn't really necessary considering any computer can do that and we already have a DVD player on the upstairs TV and the downstairs TV has one built in...

Blu-Ray? Well, you've heard my rantings on this crazy "hi-def" business before, I don't need to repeat them.

Internet? Yeah, um... considering the console lacks a keyboard... and direct access to my hard drive.. can you say "useless feature"? I have my computer to go on the internet with. Why do I need my gaming console or my cellphone to be able to do that? Really? As for it having some picture feature... again, useless, since I have my computer for storing and viewing pictures. And it's much better at it. Plus, with my computer I can edit and create pictures! Can your PS3 do that?

To me, the point of a gaming console is solely to play games. Make it capable of doing anything else and I'm not impressed. Make it more expensive because of those extra capabilities and I'm quite turned off by it.

And get this, in the long run it is actually CHEAPER than the Xbox, you need to buy less things to make it work online, and there's no fee for the Playstation Network.  (PSN) quote>

Worth mentioning that the Wii intenret connection is free, too?

Though, personally, I don't play games over the internet. Who wants to be playing against some faceless stranger? That creeps me out. I don't like having an unknown opponent.

So all the internet connection really matters for is downloadable stuff, anyway...

The point is though that consoles are much more expensive this generation but are also much more popular as they are now being bought by the masses. I love my PS3 and love all its features because I payed £300 for it. Its a great machine and I think the more it can do, the better it is. Firmware updates for it are great because in almost every one some new feature is added (although sometimes you didn't really know you needed itn before it was there). Maybe I'm talking rubbish know but its early morning so I'm sorry if my words seem disjointed 3.gif. The morale of my post is PS3 gives you the MOST for your money of the three consoles.

If you care about all those extra features, yes. If you're like me, and look at such stuff and think "who gives a damn?", then no.

Also, "moral". Moral of your post. Not "morale". You're talking about the message behind your post, not its overall happiness and enthusiasm.

It's interesting. You know which console of mine gets the most playtime? The DS.

But that'd be primarily because Capcom has (except for Megaman 9) not released a Megaman game for a non-portable since 2004. So the DS gets a lot of use both for DS and GBA functionality.

Is it even better than the Wii? In the sense that it lends itself far more to games not specifically taylored to it, yes. It also does not need a TV, you can take it everywhere with you, and you can still play it when the power goes out!

The one key crippling point is that any multiplayer gaming requires multiple consoles, not just multiple controllers (the console is the controller). A handheld smash bros. would be unfathomable.

One of the reasons I got a Wii is because it plays all Gamecube games.  I find myself making periodic stops to Gamestop to round up good Cube games while they last! 9.gif

Hey, I mean I love my PC, but when it comes down to it, my PS3 is just great. For me its simplicity. Want to play a game? There it is. Want to watch a DVD? There it is. Want to go on the internet when the PC's in the shop? There it is. Don't want to pay for those online features? There it is. You just get the most bang for the buck with the PS3. Not to mention it crashes less than the 360.

Its all about the PS3... Here are 7 reasons why:

1) Better Graphics

2) We have cooler controllers. I mean seriously what lame system uses letters for their buttons... its just disgracful....

3) Blu-Ray!!!!

4) Free online

5) Cool people use it

6) Blu-Ray!!!

7) More Bang for the Buck

Ok in all honesty I dont think there is one system that is better than another. It just all depends on your individual preferences and to be honest if I did not get a good deal on my ps3 i could vary well be stating 7 reasons why xbox is better. my 2 cents...

well, I voted 360 but the wii is good too. Sony never appealed to me. I always liked Nintendo because.. well all of my first systems were nintendo ones.I also like the 360 because it has a lot of good games. Graphics never bother me. Personally a game that doesn't have to dressed up with fancy graphics and is still good is better than a game with amazing graphics and okay gameplay. Also the 360 isn't as fancied up as the ps3. Like Duke said, i don't need a gaming system to be my computer.

I'm a PC guy all the way.

I don't mind consoles but in most cases (infact all so far) I get all my games for PC because of mod support, better patching and better graphics (not always though). And there's so much more to do with a PC than just playing games, which is what makes it truly superior personally!

There is nothing a console can do that my PC can't do (except for running PS3 and 360 games, so far). Dare me. 3.gif

Every other system uses letters. It's the normal way of doing it, and it's not an illogical one. Sony decided to be different and go with their XOsquarew.pngΔ thing instead.

Besides, X is a letter. 2.gif

So is D (the D-pad...)

And L1, L2, L3, R1, R2, R3... oh, yeah, L and R are are letters too.

Honestly, I couldn't care less - all have their pluses and minuses, all have a handful of good games. I'll choose Wii for the sake of this thread - it's actually moving the console market in a different direction.

If any of you people wanted to know, my family's a Wii/360 one.

The Wii rules44.gif because of interactive gameplay and Mario Games. I love Mario games. Also, I read this somewhere, that 16% of all sold 360's crash. And PS3 has a lot of bad games. Hey, at least it comes with a Blu-Ray player. Huh-huh. Pointless.

At the moment it's hard to say. At this current time I think it's between the Wii and the 360. The Wii is a brand new idea to gaming and has a lot of potential that Nintendo and the developers can play around with. For pure hardcore gaming, which has become more popular in the last decade or two, the 360 is the machine to use. At the moment the PS3 is far too expensive for what it really is, and the games currently released on it are relatively sub-par (even Resistance: Fall of Man in my opinion).

Looking to the future, the novelty appeal and gaming quality of the Wii I reckon will start to slacken and fall behind the other consoles (although as a gaming machine it is still very good). The 360 will still hold the market as bigger and better games take full advantage of its hardware. However, as the price tag of the PS3 falls and the more anticipated games are released on it it should start to catch up to the 360.

It depends on what games you really want to play to be honest. The way I see it: Novelty games are on the Wii mainly, Shooters and other similar games on the 360, and platformers/racers on the PS3.quote>

No that's not my opinion, mine is PS3&360 because wii doesn't have great graphics, and the PS3 prices fell by 70%

since the realease of the ps3 slim, and with the XBOX 360 you have to XBOX live to go on the internet (if it even has it),

and internet for the PS3&WII are free so now it's between PS3&WII, and so on the wii shop channel does'nt have actual

games realeased on the WII, but the PS3 you can actually download realeased games on the PS3 platform, but anyways I would reccomend PS3, also i forgot to point out that the PS3 has great sports games like MLB 09 The Show

Madden 10 MLB2K9 etc.

Yes, I believe I did. Its only $299, a lot less than it used to be. You get built in WiFi, a Blu Ray player, and may I mention the best part? Free internet. No monthly charges, no "MS Points" system, a web browser. PSN, to me, is just more professional and simpler than XBL.

First off, the Wii still rules, my fave games is Super Mario Galaxy, and am highly anticipating Super Mario Galaxy 2 in 2010. I also love the PC. Won't let it or SC4 go. Never.

I voted for PS3 which, at the time, put PS3 and Xbox360 in a tie!

PS3 is more stable on all the games I play vs a 360 (Oblivion, Fallout3, bladestorm, a few others). I use it for DVD and BlueRay movies. also, when my DVD player can't read a DVD because of scratches or whatever, the PS3 can!

I also found out recently that PS3 has built in wireless internet receiver. nope, I did not know that until about a month ago. Funny story with that; I recently installed a wireless network in my house and then went to play PS3 and it said there was an update available. I then said outloud, "How the Hell do you know that? You are not even plugged in!" thats when I realized it had a wireless receiver 4.gif

Also, my PS3 will play all of my PS and PS2 games with no problem. I was able to replay all past Final Fantasy games in order all on the PS3 (except FF3 which I needed an emulator on the PC for).

I also like all the demos and downloadable games from the playstation store. I have a ton of demos. I also like games like Trash Panic, Pain, Savage Moon, The Last Guy. I was using the folding@home feature but, I just don't keep my PS3 on all night anymore (electric bill is getting a little high so I have to start cutting corners...)

PS3 all the way. PC is actually my favorite platform, but it was not on the list, so...

Im a 360 man myself. But i have thought about the others.

PS3 has amazing graphics but the games and console are out of my range in price. It seems to be a better number cruncher, but slower at doing things than the 360. I admit, the graphics are better, but ive played both on a 32" HD tv, and there is hardly any difference. At all. I didnt notice one anyway. And this whole blu ray thing? You can download HD stuff to the 360, and the lack of blu ray shaves £30 of its price tag. (And it will still play HD things.

360, its kind of the jack of all trades. You want a decent online choice? Get it. Cheap yet decent games? Get them. Watch videos? Do it. I know people will say that you have to pay for online, but the online on the 360 is FAR better. (I know, ive owned both.) It is well worth the £40 a year for me. I have also had few problems with the 360, but not massive ones, certainly not as bad as my tales of the PS3....

The reason i dont have a PS3 now is that it suicided for no actual reason. We sent it for repair and they had no idea why. So i sold the games, and with the £150 i got a 360 with games. That lasted 2 years, very happily being left on. No overheats. No red rings. Nothing. Then the Disc tray motor broke, but the actual console was fine. It even tried to work whilst broken, it just wasnt capable. So i sent that to repair. Meanwhile, we worked out that one of the chips was fried in the PS3. I hardly used it. The 360 took 2 days to fix, and has been running happily since. If that isnt value for money what is?

To put it simply...

PS3: 1 hours use a day for 4 months. Died and was unfixable. £280.

360:Used near constantly for 3 years (By me, was second hand.) Only problem was a burned out motor. Took 2 days and £20 to fix. £100.

And now?

360 slim 250gb - £154.

PS3 slim 250gb - £220.

Even throwing in a much better online service, which is better bang for your buck?

I havent really mentioned the Wii, because although it is fun i do not think it is a proper console due to the fact it doesnt really have a controller, and i get consoles for that fact. I dont particularly enjoy waving my arms about in a game, i prefer controllers for a reason. Although gotta admit, it is great with friends.

I change my opinion. Forget the PS3, Xbox360 and Wii, the Nintendo 3DS is the next-gen now, man.

Different people each have their own opinions over which console is 'better'. The balanced results of the poll show this clearly. All consoles have their strengths and weaknesses and ultimately it is your choice on which console best suits your gaming needs.

PS3... now there is a reason for the Ethernet cable in the back....never got why it was on the first 2, what was up with that (I know my PS2 had one, I am pretty sure the PS1 had one) crazy.

My PS3 sucks, its version 3 or 4, just 2 buttons on the front, no bigger hard drive that you can up grade just an empty hole under the cap looked it up can not upgrade my system BS, again back to the Ethernet plug-in never seen a PS2 game with online games that I could remember My PS2 was version 2 I thought

I thought the body would make a nice CD folder, never got around to it before I throw it away, just a thought for your old systems that stop working 3 months before the new one comes out :rage::rage:
