I bought it when it first came out (January 2003). That would make it almost 5 years now. Bought Rush Hour that fall.

Got both of mine 1 day before the official US release of each. (The EB Games down here would sell PC games when they arrived...)

It took calling around to find one that would sell it... but I still managed to pull it off... 2.gif

I missed school the next day.

I have had mine sense the day before release of the Vanilla SC4...  At the time I was a Support Manager at Wal-mart. I even have the display that was setup with all the game cases.... one of those big cardboard setups you see DVD's on there...   the cityscape buildings you see on the cover of the box... stand out from the case...   4.gif

I picked up Rushhour online... believe I recieved it on release day.

I also picked up the deluxe edition for my niece and nephew.... I then had to purchace a second deluxe box... after moving down here to Mississippi from NY... I needed to reinstall and couldnt find my origional disks...  went to use the copy I bought my neice and nephew.... Scratched... like most of the games they get   4.gif   So, rather then go though the DT's from lack of SC4 time...  I got the second copy of deluxe.....  only to find My origional disk a few days later....

Though I dont play much anymore...  (though a new region may be in the works....  hint  4.gif  ) Sc4 has not been removed from my PC for more then a few hours sense the release day....

Your freedom is the most expensive thing you have, even if you arn't the one that paid for it... Use it well.

I was searching for tips and tricks one day for both me and mom and that is
when i found the Main Site... Well
to my amazement it landed me on SC4 site and i saw that and i told mom
we had to get so we got.... I payed half and mom picked up the other half of
the cost...  by the time we got sc4 there was RH deluxe out and of course we
gotten that one instead lol...  So come this site i found Simtropolis.....

You joined the forums on 03/16/2006, you average 0.81 message posts per day
with a total of 411 messages posted to the forums... Of Course i happen to find
it under fansite links actualy i belive it was december 05 / jan 06 i lurked that long
before joining...  I had Deluxe when that hit the selfs back in 04 i think it was?

I love SC4 Deluxe because of all the custom content that is avaible for the game...
The game takes the place of legos for me... I can still build citys and just look at
what i have done with Waterfall's...  With that i will stop rambling - pat

I pre-ordered so it landed in my mailbox on release day (How long ago was it?)

    Same thing with Rush Hour

Heck I can remember looking at the very very VERY early screenshots back in 8th grade. I am a junior in college now and I still play it to this day haha

I followed it development starting 1 year prior to its release, and bought it the day it came out. It wasnt on the shelves, but i found a copy in a shipping box 3.gif. The fastest computer i could play it on was a friend's, 500mhz. Played crazy slow. I suppose that i stopped playing partially due to me never really finding a computer that could sustain a large city (my p4 2.8 ghz ht, ati 9800 would start chugging at 300,000), and the strict grid. Then i picked up City life, and played more of that than the last year of sim city. My favorite thing to do would be to make mountain-top towns, and valley cities. But due to the grid, it really held me back. We all know that SCC won't scratch that itch, but City Life 2 is much much closer to that. Inside, i still cry for the ultimate city simulator (kill the grid!)

The truth of the matter is when it comes to "how long have you been playing simcity?" topics, I'm a newb. 34.gif

In years 0-10 I wouldn't touch video games. But on my 11th birthday when my parents got my SC4 a year or so after it came out I was hitched. I found out about the simcity community at age 11. Knowing me I probably would've pretended to be a 40-year-old for years on end before I became of forum-age. Luckily for myself and all of you I didn't figure out the BBS was free until I was half-way through my 13-years-old experience. 6 months afterwards I joined SimTropolis, and here I am today; 15 years old and posting in this topic.

I think I got simcity4 in 2004 but I'm not sure,I got RH not too much later after that. But because of my lack of understanding of the game and my horrible computer (FREAKING WINDOWS 98!) I didnt actually start playing the game well/and having fun, until I got a new computer in late 2005 or early 2006 I think.
