Hey S_A

Great looking shipyard - industrial area. Also very good idea to integrate park zones near the indistries. It'll do a good buffer zone before the commercial or residential!

Keep it up man!

    sloppet: Thanks

sharkbait16: What animations? 3.gif Glad you like it, though

    wks2003x: Let's hope that happens.

Darmok: Hmm, I never really thought of it that way. I'll keep that idea for later.

gurrgkud: Well, you'll see the plan being fulfilled in the next update...

For the sake of organisation, I've just split the update into two - both parts were posted within a few hours of each other.

Now, does anybody want another teaser on the construction of the city?

    Anacongua003.jpg
Ah, as you can see, the park's been built... and most, but not all, of the spaces have been filled with trees and retaining walls.

    Anacongua004.jpg
You can see just a tiny bit of what I've been up to on the North Bank. Obviously, you can see the park looking better there, with the statue of Liberty standing majestically there. These two bridges cross over to the residental area.

    Anacongua005.jpg
Every city has its experiments. Nuclear power is being tried out as a viable alternative to natural gas, even though supplies won't run out for another million years. It is built using 3-ply reinforced concrete, which can withstand up to 1000 times normal pressure before breaking apart. This is more than enough to withstand meltdowns, keeping it within the confines. It is also well protected in the event of a train crash.

So, that's a bit more progress, no?

I'd post the next update along with this, but remember the comments. 9.gif

    *tumbleweed rolls by*

As Dynasty grew, the need for a proper air force base soon was risen by the General of the Armed Forces. Only just recently, the base was finally constructed. This base was to be built north of Anacongua, approximately 5km north of Titticaca. This area was one of the few perfectly flat areas in Dynasty...

It is believed there is a secret lab down below the Command Centre, working on new forms of propulsion. The latest news is that the current form being research is propulsion by bad news, which somehow tells physics to go and drown itself in a lake. However, the scientists are working on the rather unfortunate side effect of bad news - they're never usually welcome in their destinations, unless the people are all masochists.

    AAFB001.jpg
Keeping the designations clean and simple, the runways have been named A and B. Runway A has the larger cargo planes, the army planes etc. Runway B deals with the really small planes like private jets. The army has an arrangement with private plane owners, if they pay a fee, they're allowed to use the airforce base, with appropiate security passes. However, they have to sign a Secrecy Clause, which prevents them from telling anybody anything about what is going on at the base.

    AAFB002.jpg
Read the sign. Well, here's the entry, complete with machine-gun-toting guard asking for security passes.

    AAFB003.jpg
The source of all power, in a literal sense. 10 wind generators provide power to everything.

    AAFB004.jpg
Tarmac. Tarmac. Who likes tarmac? Any passenger sick after a particularly bad flight will happily kiss this tarmac. For this purpose, there is a pedestal with a slab of tarmac on it for people to kiss. 3.gif Just like worshipping terra firma.

    AAFB005.jpg
The occasional jumbo jet lands here, often to refuel.

    AAFB006.jpg
The brains behind it all. The command centre.

    AAFB007.jpg
The satellite radar dish. This scans for any bogeys in close proximity - that is, enemy jets red-flagged by recon craft.

    AAFB008.jpg
While the notice is rather informative, it still doesn't stop people from smoking near the fuel tanks (Smoking within 100ft of fuel tanks is illegal in Dynasty)

    AAFB009.jpg
The transmission tower. Ideal for jamming signals on the normal electromagnetic bands. But it's no problem for Dynasty armed forces since they mainly use high-level frequencies to communicate with each other. [using X-rays would just be plain stupid]

    AAFBOverview.jpg
And the overview of it all.

    And as always, comment!

I like your air base. The layout of the runways looks very realistic. And the security fence too. I also like the rail tunnel under the runway. But if this rail line is a public one, it would never be aloud to run through the base!
Those little fuel tanks add much to the realism. I like them, I never saw them before.

    Good luck for future development.

DA: Yeah, it does, doesn't it? Well, thanks for the comments.

barnatom: Hmm, they came with the Airport Pack. The railway line's military-owned.

    amal81: Haven't seen his airport...

jacqulina: thanks, and I'm looking forward to the stuff that you'll be cooking up. Go on, start a CJ, even if it won't be updated often...

    1234: Heh. thanks

dhop: Glad to bring a smile to your day.

Darmok: Never really thought of it as kinky. 3.gif

    wks2003x, traffic_jam: Thanks.

Deathtoall: Heh. Glad you like it.

sloppet: Ah, I get you. That pic Photoshopped? Yeah, that's probably what I meant by the sign.

sharkbait16: Thanks, yeah, it's simple, after all: it's an air force base.

gurrgkud: What double update? 3.gif Well, glad you liked it.

And that was a lot of replies to reply to... so to bring on the next HUGE update.

    WARNING: 26 IMAGES

Anacongua is located north of Titticaca. It could be considered an industrial powerhouse, if it weren't for all those empty lots... Anyways, the north bank of Anacongua is (mostly) leased by Wellington until the treaty ends. There are two town centres, both on the North and South sides of the Titticaca River. Anacongua has a total population of approximately 23,000 - only a small town, though, but it has boosted Titticaca's metro population to around 120,000 sims.

    AnaconguaOverview.jpg
    As usual, the overview.

    Anacongua0011.jpg
    The South Bank's Town Centre.

    Anacongua0044.jpg
    Anacongua0055.jpg
    Suburbs in the South Bank.

    Anacongua0022.jpg
The UHU Tower, located in Anacongua's North Bank. This building is the tallest in town. For those who don't know, it's UHU and Co, a German owned company that makes glue.

    Anacongua0033.jpg
Night shot of the town centre.

    Anacongua006.jpg
Anacongua's main shopping centre - Anacongua Plaza. Conveniently located on the South Bank, along Anacongua Boulevarde, it has 60 speciality stores and four major shopping chains.

    Anacongua007.jpg
Liberty Park, and Liberty Radio 91.1 across the street from the statue. This statue was believed to have been copied from another statue on far-off Earth, and imported here piece by piece.

    Anacongua008.jpg
Harland Shipyards, Anacongua. The main producers of Dynasty's fleet, however, due to the geographical location, the owners are looking into building a larger shipyard down south.

    Anacongua009.jpg
The famous North Bank, the richest area in all of Anacongua, and the largest estates in Dynasty.

    Anacongua010.jpg
The statue of Napoleon was erected as a monument to an age long gone past.

    Anacongua011.jpg
    Anacongua012.jpg
    Anacongua013.jpg
After 35 years, this is the result.

    Anacongua014.jpg
The Wellington Government offices are the centrepiece of the North Bank development.

    Anacongua015.jpg
North Bank Estates. Waterz's mansion is in the middle, Larky's one is south of it.

    Anacongua016.jpg
Now, notice something odd here? Well, that house's had that patch of dirt for 22 years.

    Anacongua017.jpg
How it is all pieced together.

    Anacongua018.jpg
The famous Quatre Wellington. Lots of rowhomes, etc.

    Anacongua019.jpg
    Self-explanatory.

    Anacongua020.jpg
    Again, self-explanatory.

    Anacongua021.jpg
A more or less overview of the North Bank.

    Anacongua022.jpg
Wellington Park, to honour the alliance made between Dynasty and Wellington. The land is also shared by South Bank High. The ruins were only put there for the sake of giving a historical feel to the area.

    For Sale:

SA - Another great update.  Once again, you humor me with your little add ons....You want fries with that?....Classic....

I really liked the feel of the Town Centre area.  It really looked inviting.  Liberty Park eh?  Yeah, that statue does look a bit familiar2.gif

The north bank development area looks really great.  I love the boardwalk area and the canals running through the Estate area.  22 years to build a house or at least get the sod laid down?  Kinda weird eh?  Ahhh, I see it is for sale.  Don't know if I can come up with the asking price though.  I'll have to contact my accountant first.

    Always great stuff SA.

Very nice update, Shadow_Assassin! Well done.. I especialy like the shipyards! I never really liked that building when I saw it on the STEX, but you've convinced me to download it and work on it myself.. Chaumont will not fall behind Dynasty in the.. ehmm.. ship-building-race.. 18.gif

And the Emperor sends word that the recent building of a statue of Napoleon I is a very admirable step in improving relations between Chaumont and Dynasty.. Thanks for that, I now realize how nice it is to see your own creations in other people's journals.. 43.gif

    Traffic_Jam, Slowhand: Thanks.

dhoppeii: No problem. You want the house? Then buy it. 3.gif No matter what your accountant says. 3.gif

Jarno: Over my dead body - no way Chaumont is going to beat us... we've got over 200 ships already and more on the way. 3.gif

Darmok: Only 26? Ha! Glad you like it.

jacqulina: Glad you like it. A slow builder, eh? Often patience can have its rewards - I spent two weeks on this city, an hour here and there.

Well, well. I got this in the mail one day.

You'll notice a different format being used from now on. The old theme, while nice, simply kinda was worn out, and a new format will be used for the pictures. Do you like?

Warnervale is the latest addition to the Dynasty family. 3.gif Located east of Sioban, but slightly west of Titticaca. Warnervale is home to some of the biggest farms in the region, and also is home to Dynasty's only agricultural high school - Warnervale Ag High School (WAHS). The town has a rich, fertile soil, and the largest wind farm of its kind.

Overview, at zoom 2 to better show the farmy goodness... click the image to see a better view. You don't have to, obviously. 3.gif
    35OverviewThumbnail.jpg

    Warnervale001.jpg
Everybody must stay healthy, and why not do it in endless opulence and comfort? Then look no further than Warnervale's famous Medical clinic.

    Warnervale002.jpg
The main town of Warnervale, clumped around Warnervale's main street, also better known as Old Route 1.

    Warnervale003.jpg
More farmy goodness. It's a local legend that stoners run the Hydrophonics plant over there in the lower right corner (y'know those dome buildings?). They've been left alone, since they claim they're manufacturing marijuana and cannabis for medical purposes. Highly unlikely. The locals have requested that this facility be shut down.

    Warnervale004.jpg
More farmy goodness. And the abbatoir. The abbatoir provides many jobs, but unfortunately, there's some pollution, due to the large amount of methane gas produced by cows awaiting their death and later reincarnation as a food item.

    Warnervale005.jpg
Described as mind-blowingly awesome, this wind farm is the major supply of power to Warnervale. Well, these guys are simply just there to provide a consistent source of power, no matter how fan-tastic they seem to be.

    Warnervale006.jpg
Main Street of this tiny town. The gaudy McDonalds can be found here, along with a BP Super Station.

    Warnervale007.jpg
Warnervale Agricultural High School. This replaced the long-since-defunct White Ridge Agricultural College and provides the sole source of agricultural education.

    Warnervale008.jpg
The ubiquitous Goober Co-op can be found here... it's always in every farming town, providing essential supplies to the farmers.

    Warnervale009.jpg
Contrary to what the name suggests, all cattle from this farm do not suffer from Mad Cow Disease. But instead, it's the best source of beef. There's also an orchard to go with it.

    Warnervale010.jpg
Forest Grove, one of the small, secluded residental areas in the Warnervale area.

    Warnervale011.jpg
The famous abbatoir. Cows go in, burgers come out is its slogan. Basically, most of the meat for Dynasty's population is produced via here. You can also buy direct from the abbatoir. Prices may vary.

    Warnervale012.jpg
To finish it off: Yet more farmy goodness.

    Enjoy. --SA
