    Yay. Page 3.

And let us be welcomed to the next update - Tuggeranong's Urban Renewal Project.

    tuggeranong020019in.jpg
    Before the urban renewal project.

    tuggeranong020023go.jpg
The open patch of land before development.
[these images were taken last week]

    tuggeranong020032uq.jpg
Just a relatively new suburban division. This area has been left alone, as part of the Urban Renewal Project.

    tuggeranong020049re.jpg
The first After Picture. This area is now low density residental, though, the agency is having a hard time trying to get people to buy this land.

    tuggeranong020050es.jpg
Residental filled in the rest of the gaps, while a new shopping mall was constructed on the site of the old convention centre.

    tuggeranong020066fg.jpg
The hotel was pulled down, and a brand new church was erected in its place, along with some trails and sprawling parkland.

    tuggeranong020072qx.jpg
This area was basically left unchanged, however the divider was rebuilt.

    And that's about it.

Nice residential neighborhoods, they blend so well with the great parks.  This CJ is coming along nicely.  Can we get a glimpse of the city as a whole?

For a glimpse of the city as a whole, you'll need to look at region views, as I don't have pics of Tuggeranong.

    Thanks, oreon.

    Thanks wks2003x - here's a couple of tips:
    - Create a flexible layout.
    - Create a few parks of your own in the Lot Editor.
    - Make good use of custom props.

That's about it, and have fun!

    Thanks, sloppet.

    Welcome to:
    Paragia: Dynasty's northernmost city
    paragia0012ke.jpg

    paragia0029fm.jpg
Paragia's town centre. It's generally a nice place to be, surrounded by industrial seaport, and the beautiful Seaport Village.

    paragia0036jr.jpg
The entire Seaport Village. 55 shops to be found here, all providing different needs. Every Sim loves the seaport village. There is also housing and hotels along the frontage road, which leads to the rest of SimNation (Paragia's on the edge of the map)

    paragia0040mz.jpg
The DNS Pentium, currently docked at one of Paragia's spacious docks. (obviously). Though, it is expected that a dredging operation would be underway in order to allow the ship to leave dock without having to back up.

    paragia0052pg.jpg
The entire seaport. You can see the DNS Nitro hidden by the island, a defence force. Also, there are two other ships in this image, the DNS Sempron (the smaller one), and the DNS Beutelgeuse (the larger one). Here is where the bulk of the fleet is being held.

    paragia0065bc.jpg
Paragia's rather spectacular residental area, using a different type of zoning, not seen elsewhere in Dynasty, you can see the core of Paragia's industry there, quite small, and 100% manufacturing. 10,000 people live in Paragia, at this point in time.

    paragia0075iw.jpg
Paragia before incorporation, but after terraforming. Ignore the glitch.

    Enjoy this update.

Hey SA, Wow, missed two updates....Well, let's have a look shall we?

Really enjoyed the before and after pics....I will admit it took me a bit of looking until I got myself oriented, but I think now, I see what you have done here.  I really like the trails behind the church....Very nice looking, green park area.......The last pic in the previous update is also a great one.  I like what you did with the tunnels under the avenue.

I love the wharf and shipping port in this most recent update.  It is just huge.  There also seems to be a European feel to the residential sector there too.  Looks Great.

    Great Job....

    Regards,

And thanks, dhoppe for the comment.

Ah, this update is Titanium Grove, and I'm trying out new graphics for the update - what do you think? [edit: oops, forgot to copy the update here 43.gif]
New update...! Welcome to Titanium Grove...!
    tg0054ii.jpg
This here is the city overview. Clouds and all. This is home to the only parking lot that can be seen by any low-flying satellite clearly. 3.gif

    tg0011cu.jpg
The Berlin Embassy. Made to seem as if no expense has been spared. It's the building to the top. The bottom one is basically a multi-purpose building, used for various diplomatic purposes. It is shared by both Dynasty and Berlin diplomats [and possibly other regions such as Amethyst Cliffs and Socale]. A FTA agreement [and many more to come] has been signed in recent times between the leaders - Shadow Assassin and Trixin.

    tg0025wy.jpg
    Titanium Grove Amusement Park.

    tg0031un.jpg
    The master-planned community, using 100% British Rowhomes®. 3.gif

    tg0045yx.jpg
Redwood Grove. Named after the freakin' huge trees that GROW there.

    tg0063dy.jpg
Meriott Lake. With fountains and everything. [Yes, I'm aware it's a bit big, but it's the best I could do - using PEG's old centre waterfall splash thingy...

    tg0079as.jpg
Six Ways Park. Look to the left, that intersection was named Death-Trap of the Year three times in a row. Fun fun. On average, there's at least one crash a week, usually a minor scrape - blame the traffic lights.

    tg0084ww.jpg
    A suburban subdivision.

    tg0097xs.jpg
    Another one.

    tg0103xx.jpg
Yet another one. Whee. You can also see Embassy Gardens Mall there, too.

    tg0117kk.jpg
Part of the Titanium Grove CBD.

    tg0122up.jpg
    Yet more CBD-ness. 3.gif

    tg0138mn.jpg
This bleeds over into Gemstone Valley. This is Titanium Grove's Residental Area. 3.gif

Actually I think Marriot Lake looks just fine, not too big at all. I like all the parking near the stores; lots of parking is nice and suburban. And that Six Ways is a monstrosity! 9.gif

Beautiful seaport.  I have to agree with oroen, the lake is gorgeous...as well as the amusement park.  BTW, Titanium Grove is so green...I almost want to see a big resort right in the middle of the map, haha.  Good job on the Six Ways area.  Your parks are always top-notch!  I'm lovin' it.

holy cow, Shadow...the amount of work you must put into...your eye for detail and willingness to put so much time and effort into that detail is mind boggling. the little roads and streets winding around the neighborhoods are magnificent.
i likeyour new graphics, as well...i find the where am I? to be quite helpful, and gives us an even better idea of the scope of what we are looking at.
    keep up the great work.

Wow, this CJ doesn't get enough praise.  Gotta love that port area, although it does look a little unfinished.  I especially like that little island jutting out there.

And Titanium Grove, odd name for a city but spectacular nonetheless.  The embassy looks great and those neighborhoods are so realistic.  BTW, where di you get those flower gardens, they work better than the Maxi made ones.

Hmm, unfortunately, I've forgotten exactly where, but they're the Wildflowers lot on the STEX.

Well, welcome to the tranquil town of APPLEGATE. This town's only got 3,700 happy little Sims living in the place. More like farms, farms, and more farms, and the occasional tumbleweed. 3.gif

And I present to you the little course-on-the-side... Applegate!
    applegate0110jm.jpg
    applegate0091gl.jpg
    applegate0102or.jpg

Many of the farms in the city area. Some famous farms are given special mention.
    applegate0070km.jpg
    applegate0084mf.jpg

Experimental Farming - who knows what they cook up in that big dome? Maybe a new breed of genetically modified corn? Applegate's Tractor Dealer can be found just across the road.

    applegate0015fc.jpg
Sweet as Sugar and Turkey Mart

    applegate0028ia.jpg
    applegate0034mh.jpg
    http://img208.echo.cx/img208/1087/applegate0044wo.jpg

    Many random pics here:
    applegate0056fy.jpg
    applegate0064em.jpg

As you can see, that's Applegate! There's an error on one of the pics - dunno how that happened, so just ignore it. There'll be two or three farming towns coming up soon. I couldn't be bothered writing much, so sit back and let the pictures tell the story of Applegate, the side dish of Dynasty... literally.

This town was basically an experiment in the BSC farms... it took me three hours trying to get everything working. There's some textures missing, but I don't particularly care.

And as always, the compulsory Share And Enjoy. And that was update 17: Applegate.

SA - Love all the pics.  I really like that night shot....

I looked at the links that are going to your pics...(the ones that are missing).....You are getting line break code in the middle of your pics.....Not sure how that could happen, but that seems to be the problem....It looks like it might be an image link followed by the line break<BR>and then another image link.  All this is coming through for a single image.  Don't know if this helps out or not...I hope so, because I would love to be able to see all the pics....

BTW, loved the Casa Del Sol Hotel pic.  Fantastic job of putting it out there on it's own little island.....Great Job.

No comments? Argh, it's annoying. I'd like ideas, maybe... or you're too speechless to post? 3.gif

Well, this time, I figure I'll show a bit of UDI-ing, eh? This is the first time I've done it, so bear with me (22 images). If you like, I'll do more in the future.

    udic0018gh.jpg
I had called for a taxi driver to pick me up from the airport tram's shuttle bus depot. Right on time, as usual. Good service here in Celeron Mountain.

    udic0022gs.jpg
Driving along, there's the microwave plant on the left, the Advanced Research Center on the right. Not much can be seen of the plant, but I heard that a fire happened there a few months ago. So, as a result, security has been a lot beefed up, as this is the only power supply for Celeron Mountain, and we cannot afford to lose it.

    udic0034wq.jpg
At the intersection. My taxi driver told me that he's pretty new here, but will happily take me on a tour around the city. On the right, is the Black Hole Water Plant, where water is drawn from the well to provide water to Celeron Mountain. We're about to turn left at this intersection, heading into the city.

    udic0048qu.jpg
Entering Downtown Celeron Mountain. Not too bad. It's a bit quiet here, not as much traffic as you'd expect.

    udic0050ea.jpg
Turning onto the interchange here, apparently my driver took a wrong turn, but that's okay, as we got to see a bit of downtown, before heading to the hotel.

    udic0071xw.jpg
Well, looks like we had to move over a lane or two - the right most lane got blocked off, as there was foliage intruding onto the highway, and the highway was narrowed down to two lanes to minimise damage to vehicles. I hear they're going to cut them back, and reopen the highway fully.

    udic0087rk.jpg
Passing by Chandlers. The road's very bumpy, and now I can see why my driver told me to hold on. Hell, I hit my head on the roof of the car several times. I hope they can re-lay this highway...

    udic0090kr.jpg
Passing by Ong. This is our exit. Looks a bit hairy in this image, but we made it off the highway in time, narrowly missing the barrier...

    udic0107tm.jpg
We're just driving along the avenue, next to the country club. I hope my hotel's close by, as I want to get a few rounds of golf in. As you can see, there's not much traffic around... good.

    udic0119pz.jpg
Well, my hotel is just right there, it's only a 2 minute walk down to the Club. Looks like we just narrowly missed being caught in that crash - the guy ran a red light, and pushed that car clear across the intersection.

    udic0125ed.jpg
The next day, I called for another taxi to take me to the Duomo, and look around the area for a new house. The guy turned up late. Let's hope he's as good as the guy I got yesterday.

    udic0134ub.jpg
El-rail passing over the avenue, as we were driving under. There's a lot of trains passing by - we saw three in the time waiting for the light to turn green so we could go.

    udic0142th.jpg
The obelisk at the bottom of Ong Condos. I wish I could have an apartment there, but the rent's horrendous - something like $2,500 per week. But it's worth it... it looks as if no expense has been spared, which is most likely true.

    udic0159nn.jpg
The top part of the new Medical Centre, as we were passing by it. It's made by a Japanese architect, and looks good.

    udic0166jg.jpg
Looks like there's the turnoff for the Duomo. There's the sign up ahead.

    udic0172pm.jpg
Passing by an intersection up the hill. There is a sign there, as well. This hill's the steepest I've ever seen... will we make it?

    udic0186vt.jpg
A bit further uphill, we've just turned from the junction from the bottom, ready to turn into the next intersection, to go further uphill. Hopefully this is the last intersection, I don't fancy driving through this rather nice residental area every day - blame the hills.

    udic0191rb.jpg
Finally at the Duomo. What's so interesting about that puke (or is it a bright green teddy bear?), that people are standing around it? Ah well. The Duomo was pretty nice too. I asked my driver to wait, while I took photos of the building.

    udic0202lw.jpg
We were just exploring the area around the mountain. This area's nice, I'd like to live here, but I don't really like driving on steep hills - it's hell if your brakes give out, and your car rolls down the street!

    udic0214mb.jpg
Well, we made it back on the main road... this here is an entrance to some subdivison in the corner of the map. We're turning left.

    udic0225jg.jpg
AHHHH! A BEAR! FLOOR IT! Turns out that bear was merely curious about us... he soon lost interest. Well, who'da thunk it, a bear in Celeron Mountain. Wonder how the zoo will react?

Well, I headed back to the hotel, played a round of golf, and overall, had a bit of fun in the city that never sleeps. There are an awful lot of nightclubs around, you know.

This would conclude the first UDI update. Celeron Mountain is now at 250,000, and the region population is 925,000, approximately. Only 75k to go till 1 million, eh?

Does anybody want the traffic map? 3.gif (this is an old one)
