  1. Lattica, Hemstead :: The River City

    sim1234: Thanks a ton! jasperdeman.nl: Thanks...and nope, no new urbanism for Lattica. Micah: Thanks for checking out the CJ. Hope it continues to entertain you. simster6: Thank you. And I agree, but the suburbs could certainly look worse...as you will see in the next update. Dsrwhat316: Thank you. toxicpian Hope it wasn't too long, heh. Glad you liked it. jacqulina: Thanks! Nardo69: Thanks...hopefully Lattica will continue to evade death. Shadow_Assassin: Sprawl sprawl sprawl. That's what it's all about...and I see you're working on yet another masterpiece yourself...very cool. magpieshooter: Thanks. Gotta love the extra-long updates. Everyone: Here's an interesting update that takes Lattica in a somewhat different direction...time to look at the poor side of things...enjoy! _________________________________________________________________________________________________ :: Brooks County :: It could be worse. http://img369.imageshack.us/img369/9866/region9ng.jpg align=baseline> There's always the story of a city that goes bad. There was every intention to make it a desirable place to live, but things just don't work out. Here's the story of Brooks County. http://img369.imageshack.us/img369/7827/18ug1.jpg align=baseline> Marshall, Lattica's newest suburb, exploded with growth - more so than any other county in the area. As the city matured, it continued to grow and grow, gaining both in land coverage and density. Marshall has finally grown to a small city of nearly 70,000 sims - larger than any other Lattica suburb. http://img369.imageshack.us/img369/741/23hk.jpg align=baseline> Unfortunately, the vast majority of those sims that settled in Marshall are very poor. http://img369.imageshack.us/img369/3765/33xk.jpg align=baseline> Marshall even stakes claim to Lattica's largest housing project. http://img369.imageshack.us/img369/1473/46te.jpg align=baseline> Vinson Pkwy. is lined with small shops. http://img369.imageshack.us/img369/7026/56pt.jpg align=baseline> Marshall city government ordered that all highways within the city limits be sunken, not for beautification, but to prevent the scenery from scaring highway travelers. http://img369.imageshack.us/img369/8908/61ez.jpg align=baseline> Marshall's traffic problems are at their worst. Several major arteries need upgrades but the city's funding doesn't allow it. http://img369.imageshack.us/img369/5094/70tv.jpg align=baseline> Apartments and mobile homes are popular in West Brooks County. http://img369.imageshack.us/img369/1299/83vj.jpg align=baseline> The city tried several times to boost the city's economy, but failed every time. Is Marshall destined to be Lattica's biggest slum? http://img369.imageshack.us/img369/6640/98qv.jpg align=baseline> Every time the city attempted to expand with better housing, low income sims flooded the scene. http://img369.imageshack.us/img369/7971/102nk.jpg align=baseline> Don't let the skyline fool you. Downtown Marshall does very little to boost the economy of the Lattica region. ________________________________________________________________________________________________ Parkside: New Suburb may Save Brooks County from Disaster http://img369.imageshack.us/img369/5010/114rj.jpg align=baseline> Brooks County officials and private developers knew the only way to save Brooks County was to start from scratch. http://img369.imageshack.us/img369/3315/123ku.jpg align=baseline> Parkside marks a new trend for the poor county. New commercial parks and subdivisions are improving the area. http://img369.imageshack.us/img369/4677/135dg.jpg align=baseline> The new town of Parkside looks quite upscale compared to Marshall. http://img396.imageshack.us/img396/778/146qi.jpg align=baseline> Newer, more luxurious homes and apartments are finally beginning to sprout up outside the city. http://img396.imageshack.us/img396/3659/151bd.jpg align=baseline> The once quite Brooks Pkwy. is buzzing with activity. http://img396.imageshack.us/img396/1900/163pr.jpg align=baseline> I-10 provides easy access to the new town. http://img396.imageshack.us/img396/5607/175vz.jpg align=baseline> Parkside sims don't seem to mind the long commutes. http://img396.imageshack.us/img396/3707/187rc.jpg align=baseline> Parkside Mall http://img396.imageshack.us/img396/2041/193he.jpg align=baseline> Tons of stores and restaurants are flocking to the small exurb. http://img396.imageshack.us/img396/5733/206om.jpg align=baseline> Homes are affordable and the schools are great. http://img396.imageshack.us/img396/3037/213db.jpg align=baseline> Better traffic and less crime is the story in Parkside. http://img396.imageshack.us/img396/1898/220gh.jpg align=baseline> Brooks BMW http://img396.imageshack.us/img396/5500/234ux.jpg align=baseline> The shopping experience in Parkside easily beats Marshall's low-end shops. http://img396.imageshack.us/img396/3868/243mg.jpg align=baseline> Overlook Expressway: Parkside's beautifully landscaped 4-lane limited access highway provides quick access to I-10.
  2. Lattica, Hemstead :: The River City

    http://img179.echo.cx/img179/48/lattica4ju.jpg align=baseline> Here it is, guys. The death-defying CJ is back with the biggest update ever, so get comfy...there's plenty to see. http://img357.imageshack.us/img357/3751/region13ox.jpg align=baseline> Lattica's slowly becoming a sprawling mass of nearly 200,000 sims. http://img357.imageshack.us/img357/6858/region27gg.jpg align=baseline> You can still make out the city's distinct skyline that follows the Chastain River. What's Lattica up to these days? http://img357.imageshack.us/img357/5962/15dn2.jpg align=baseline> Unfortunately, Lattica has hit somewhat of a low point in its short history. Davidson County's population continues to slowly decline while surrounding counties slowly grow. So this update is all about the 'burbs...let's take a look at some older 'burbs and check out some new ones too. :: Meade County :: http://img357.imageshack.us/img357/1745/16lu.jpg align=baseline> Meade County continues to grow at a rapid pace. http://img357.imageshack.us/img357/9229/29pd.jpg align=baseline> Downtown Brantley is strangely dense along with its neighbors. The city's northern suburbs are beginning to form their own skyline. http://img357.imageshack.us/img357/5632/39bm.jpg align=baseline> Yep, the traffic's getting worse in Brantley. http://img354.imageshack.us/img354/5015/40pt.jpg align=baseline> Lattica's own transit system is fueling Brantley's growth. Sims here are only a quick train ride away from Lattica. http://img354.imageshack.us/img354/9378/57yd.jpg align=baseline> Even with mass transit options, Meade County still has some of the worst traffic in the area. http://img354.imageshack.us/img354/7348/60iv.jpg align=baseline> And here are the sprawling suburbs... http://img354.imageshack.us/img354/2935/73bt.jpg align=baseline> Everywhere you look, cookie cutter homes line the streets. http://img354.imageshack.us/img354/5066/80oi.jpg align=baseline> Lattica's suburbs continue to stretch along I-265 with no end in sight. :: Riverbend County :: http://img354.imageshack.us/img354/6281/15wv.jpg align=baseline> Lattica's first exurb is here. http://img354.imageshack.us/img354/8048/23bu1.jpg align=baseline> Unlike other growing towns in the area, Riverbend was actually planned. http://img365.imageshack.us/img365/6499/35df.jpg align=baseline> Only Hemstead's wealthiest sims live here. http://img365.imageshack.us/img365/9968/48ep.jpg align=baseline> Riverbend has the small-town atmosphere that many sims were looking for. http://img365.imageshack.us/img365/4095/50ok1.jpg align=baseline> The Riverbend Expressway connects the town with I-265 in Meade County, which connects with I-65 in Davidson County...it all makes for a pretty long commute. :: Springfield County :: http://img365.imageshack.us/img365/6879/12df.jpg align=baseline> It's yet another booming suburb north of Lattica. http://img365.imageshack.us/img365/8049/26lt1.jpg align=baseline> While not quite as dense as Brantley, Milton still adds to the northern skyline. http://img365.imageshack.us/img365/6973/37po.jpg align=baseline> More strip-centers and postage stamp communities fill the county. http://img365.imageshack.us/img365/4406/41zf.jpg align=baseline> Milton continues to sprawl to the northwest. http://img365.imageshack.us/img365/5388/54sn.jpg align=baseline> Yet another limited-access highway had to go up to ease traffic congestion. :: Weber County :: http://img455.imageshack.us/img455/8306/19lh.jpg align=baseline> Lookout! Weber County is good old-fashioned unplanned sprawl at its worst. http://img455.imageshack.us/img455/557/21xc.jpg align=baseline> As the city's northern suburbs begin to fill up, sims had to look to the west for low taxes, better schools and faster commutes. http://img455.imageshack.us/img455/7820/31tk.jpg align=baseline> The Weber Regional Hospital makes sure sims stay healthy. http://img455.imageshack.us/img455/1517/40oq.jpg align=baseline> Lattica's Southwest Expressway becomes the Weber Expressway in Weber County: a six-lane divided highway with an extra-wide median. http://img455.imageshack.us/img455/4315/53ev.jpg align=baseline> Tons of retail stores crowded around the Weber Expressway/I-70 interchange. http://img455.imageshack.us/img455/8168/65gy.jpg align=baseline> The Weber Mall sprouted up along the busy highway. http://img455.imageshack.us/img455/7643/73qk.jpg align=baseline> Farther to the west, even more development is sprouting up. http://img455.imageshack.us/img455/7942/83zt.jpg align=baseline> ...and with the new residential growth, even more retail followed. http://img455.imageshack.us/img455/2478/94jc.jpg align=baseline> The rural west side of town is now beginning to face development. http://img455.imageshack.us/img455/3582/109ek.jpg align=baseline> At least Weber County boasts larger, more affordable homes compared to the rest of the area. :: Shoale County :: http://img455.imageshack.us/img455/7647/19lg1.jpg align=baseline> As Weber grew along I-10 to the west, Shoaleville is now growing along I-65 to the south. http://img455.imageshack.us/img455/8634/20vb.jpg align=baseline> Downtown Shoaleville already boasts some modern midrises. http://img455.imageshack.us/img455/4454/32xv.jpg align=baseline> You know the story here. It's another Lattica suburb. http://img455.imageshack.us/img455/2537/45ad.jpg align=baseline> I-65 is beginning to face congestion as thousands of sims commute north to Lattica. http://img455.imageshack.us/img455/396/53pn1.jpg align=baseline> Lattica's Southeast Expressway is beginning to draw lots of commercial development. http://img455.imageshack.us/img455/7286/61xp.jpg align=baseline> Shoale County promises some of the best schools in the region. http://img455.imageshack.us/img455/1934/70jr.jpg align=baseline> Expect more development to follow as Lattica's now famous perimeter highway (I-70) wraps through Shoale County. http://img455.imageshack.us/img455/138/83fo.jpg align=baseline> The new Sheraton Hotel is a hint that Shoale County is about to take a more upscale turn. http://img455.imageshack.us/img455/7650/93sm.jpg align=baseline> Residential developers are already planning a massive upscale riverfront village not unlike Riverbend to the far north. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Thanks for sticking with it! More updates to come soon.
  3. Lattica, Hemstead :: The River City

    Sorry its been so long since I've updated...but have no fear...a series of updates are in the works. And here's a few hints of what's to come: :: Meade County is now much bigger than its last reported pop. of 14,000 :: You'll be introduced to two new counties: Riverbend County & Weber County just hold on a little longer...updates are coming.
  4. Lattica, Hemstead :: The River City

    http://img179.echo.cx/img179/48/lattica4ju.jpg align=baseline> ginchael: Riverbend has been put on hold until the next update...I want it to be absolutely perfect. In the meantime, you can check out Meade County, which is currently as close to suburban perfection as it gets in Lattica. sim1234: Thanks for hanging in there! Here's an update for ya... ________________________________________________________________________________________ http://img440.imageshack.us/img440/5391/12fb.jpg align=baseline> Here it is...the new Brantley-Meade County is here. http://img440.imageshack.us/img440/5843/24wq.jpg align=baseline> Meade County is currently 14,000 sims strong...its population already matches Springfield County and it continues to grow. http://img440.imageshack.us/img440/5294/36st.jpg align=baseline> South Brantley already has a small skyline of midrises. http://img440.imageshack.us/img440/2751/40qj.jpg align=baseline> Downtown Brantley has the tallest buildings in the county. Brantley now completes a group of what Latticans affectionately call the Northern Beltway Cities. Milton - Brantley - Ashley Hills all run along the northern beltway, plus they boast a better economy and higher land values than the rest of metro Lattica. http://img440.imageshack.us/img440/5535/57gz.jpg align=baseline> Brantley's low-density communities are the heart and soul of Lattica's northern suburbs. http://img440.imageshack.us/img440/5176/66hq.jpg align=baseline> The Promenade at Meade :: Phase One Phase One features stores and homes with common western architecture. http://img440.imageshack.us/img440/5641/73fe.jpg align=baseline> The Promenade at Meade :: Phase Two Phase Two features unique eauropean architecture http://img440.imageshack.us/img440/6564/87ky.jpg align=baseline> Brantley's sims enjoy quiet and relaxing communities. http://img440.imageshack.us/img440/8643/99qj.jpg align=baseline> Metro Lattica's newest limited access highway isn't an interstate highway, but it will soon get just as much traffic. Riverbend Expressway stretches from the I-70/I-265 interchange northward through Riverbend County. http://img440.imageshack.us/img440/6701/105va.jpg align=baseline> Riverbend Expressway/I-265 Interchange http://img440.imageshack.us/img440/3937/119ph.jpg align=baseline> The expressway connects Lattica's suburbs in the extreme northern metro area to the inner city. http://img440.imageshack.us/img440/3047/126qm.jpg align=baseline> Riverbend Expressway continues its northward track through Riverbend County. Planners are preparing to develop the mostly rural county with luxurious swim/tennis/golf communities once the highway construction is completed. http://img440.imageshack.us/img440/5040/134jq.jpg align=baseline> The I-70/I-265/Riverbend Expwy. Interchange is already a landmark in Meade County...it's another one of Lattica's trademark massive highway interchanges. __________________________________________________________________________________________________ Thanks for visiting Meade County. I'll try to squeeze out another update or two soon (maybe). If not, look for a pretty huge update in the coming weeks. Hope you enjoyed Lattica's newest suburb!
  5. Lattica, Hemstead :: The River City

    http://img356.imageshack.us/img356/6444/riverbend6iy.jpg align=baseline> In the coming weeks, you will be re-introduced to Lattica. Not only will the story of this great city continue, but you will also be introduced to Lattica's first exurb. So just hold on a little longer...a pretty awesome update is in the making. _______________________________________________________________________________________________ jacqulina: thanks again! simster6: Look for more updates on Ashley Hills in the next week or so. sim1234: Thanks so much! I hope you continue to enjoy this CJ in the future. Joaquin: Thank you. All the major retailers came from the STEX. city_lover-niko: It's an honor to have one of my CJ readers living in my city. pootrevor: thanks. Everyone: Sorry that Lattica's been inactive for the past month. This past month has been pretty crazy. I'm working on a major update in the next week to make up for lost time...so hold on, there's more to come. As I said earlier, this CJ isn't dead, but it is sort of on hold at least until November. On a good note, I'll squeeze out an update or two when I can, and there's an update on the way for next week. Until then, here's some questions for you guys... Is Lattica developing in a way that you like? What's the city missing? What would you like to see in the coming updates? Thanks for hanging in there and see you all soon.
  6. Sculpting Columbia River

    Simply beautiful. SCR will be sadly missed. This CJ was my greatest inspiration...none of the CJs here on ST would be what they are without SCR. Thanks, jeronij.
  7. Lattica, Hemstead :: The River City

    Nardo69: Haha. Not many sims would want to live in that house...I feel sorry for the poor joe who does. jacqulina: Thanks so much...got a nightshot for ya comin' up! aleking: Thanks again. It took a lot of practice to learn how to force my sims to use certain roads. Everyone: Here's one more update for ya. As you know school's coming at me full force so Lattica has to take backseat to my busy schedule right now. We'll see if I can squeeze in another update sometime soon. See ya then! _____________________________________________________________________________________________________ Sagemont University welcomes the Class of 2009 Sagemont University opened its doors this semester. The small private university accepts only the brightest sims from all over SimNation. Students love the beautiful new campus. Sagemont has the advantage of having a riverfront campus, a plus for students who like the scenery...not so good for those students who get a little too stressed out from the university's rigor. http://img62.imageshack.us/img62/1930/44dq.jpg align=baseline> The University President's House http://img62.imageshack.us/img62/2283/52fx.jpg align=baseline> Sagemont buildings feature a mix of classic and modern architecture. http://img62.imageshack.us/img62/5182/62rv.jpg align=baseline> Sims love to take stolls through their wooded campus parks. http://img62.imageshack.us/img62/7493/71bu.jpg align=baseline> Sagemont is only a skip away from Uptown...great for those night when students want to let loose and party. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________ Ashley Hills: Davidson County's Newest City http://img62.imageshack.us/img62/5949/87oa.jpg align=baseline> It all started with I-70, Lattica's perimeter highway. DOT decided to complete a portion of the highway in northeast Davidson County before Lattica's sprawl eats away the land. Hotel execs noticed the land's tumbling hills and before you know it, a high-rise hotel is born. And that was the birth of Ashley Hills, a small unincorporated town northeast of the city. http://img62.imageshack.us/img62/861/90ai.jpg align=baseline> I-70/Ashley-Lattica Blvd. Interchange - This part of the interchange is exit-only to prevent future traffic problems. http://img62.imageshack.us/img62/2447/105mk.jpg align=baseline> I-70/Ashley-Lattica Blvd. Interchange - The onramps are located a little farther down the highway. http://img62.imageshack.us/img62/9161/115vb.jpg align=baseline> Several housing developments are already in the works for this growing town. http://img62.imageshack.us/img62/8656/127mb.jpg align=baseline> Ashley Hills features lush landscaping along major transportation routes. http://img62.imageshack.us/img62/5787/130fq.jpg align=baseline> Future high-rise commercial and some mid-rise residential complexes http://img62.imageshack.us/img62/4198/146up.jpg align=baseline> Northeast Expwy and East Davidson Pkwy connect Ashley Hills with Lattica. http://img62.imageshack.us/img62/9131/157ap.jpg align=baseline> The roads are empty now, but they will be heavily traveled by the next update. http://img62.imageshack.us/img62/1082/163be.jpg align=baseline> The construction has already started. http://img62.imageshack.us/img62/2842/175rp.jpg align=baseline> Ashley Hills isn't too far from the core city. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Lattica's Attracting Sims from Everywhere, Even Simtropolis! Welcome to Lattica...hope you enjoy your stay in The River City.
  8. :: dynasty :: A Shadow Assassin CJ

    Ah man I've missed so much! Absolutely beautiful suburbs...and how'd you get the diagonal streets? They're so cool. And I love Warnervale...very beautiful rural town. The convenience stores amongst farms and spread out communities look very realistic. Keep it up!
  9. Lattica, Hemstead :: The River City

    http://img179.echo.cx/img179/48/lattica4ju.jpg align=baseline> sloppet: Thanks again! Dutchdragon: Glad you like the 'burbs. simster6: Thanks so much. gurrgkud: Thanks and I'm glad you like Milton. aleking: Thank you. Shadow_Assassin: Thanks...and as you can tell I like highways a little too much, haha. jacqulina: Thank you. Nardo69: Thanks! I'll keep posting updates when I can. Everyone: Sorry it's been a while since the last update. Here's the lastest on Milton - Springfield County. There may be another update or two coming soon. http://img391.imageshack.us/img391/6273/11gb1.jpg align=baseline> The explosion of grown in Springfield County brings the River City's metro population to just over 140,000. http://img391.imageshack.us/img391/4259/25cf.jpg align=baseline> Downtown Milton continues to gain in density. Look for more updates soon!
  10. :: dynasty :: A Shadow Assassin CJ

    Wow. Very beautiful air force base....and an interesting interchange too! I love it! Awesome continuation of a very good preview.
  11. :: dynasty :: A Shadow Assassin CJ

    Hmmm...industry...lots of parks...residential across the water...looks like sims will be itching to move in there. Can't wait to see the finished product!
  12. Lattica, Hemstead :: The River City

    MayorTim: Thanks, man. You've been with Lattica since the very beginning (heck, you stayed with Caspen till the end) and I really do appreciate it. city_lover-niko: It's a done deal. Your new Uptown mansion is under construction...look for it in the next update! And no, Northwood wasn't in the old Lattica. aleking: Thanks. gurrgkud: Welcome to Lattica. I'm always glad to get new visitors. Thanks and I hope you enjoy your stay. Shadow_Assassin: You know it! Traffic_Jam: As always, thanks! oroen: Thanks. I'm glad you liked the last update (although it seemed a bit scattered to me). jacqulina: Thanks so much. 2s: Thanks. Welcome to Lattica. And my shots may be a pixel or two too big...we'll see about making some adjustments before the next update. Everyone: Sadly, this is the last update for a little while. School's starting back up and it's time to concentrate on that. So if you don't hear from me in a while, remember that the CJ isn't over...updates are just going to come at a much slower pace. So until the next update, here's a little preview of what's to come... ____________________________________________________________________________________________ Coming Soon: Milton - Springfield County Warning: The majority of the city is still under construction, so don't look for much eye candy in this update. http://img369.imageshack.us/img369/7522/18ov.jpg align=baseline> About 25 miles northwest of Lattica lies its newest suburban city, Milton. http://img369.imageshack.us/img369/4661/23wk.jpg align=baseline> Milton enjoys great views of Lattica's acclaimed Chastain River. http://img369.imageshack.us/img369/9530/33pq.jpg align=baseline> I-70, Lattica's mega-sized perimeter highway is making a comeback. http://img369.imageshack.us/img369/7780/47gf.jpg align=baseline> At an astounding 10 lanes, I-70 will provide sims of the north side of the city with problem-free commutes. http://img369.imageshack.us/img369/610/53bf.jpg align=baseline> Springfield County is a good distance from the city, but the short commute to a quieter city is worth it. http://img369.imageshack.us/img369/6833/69to.jpg align=baseline> Milton's main street is extra-wide to support future high traffic volumes. http://img369.imageshack.us/img369/377/78uy.jpg align=baseline> The relocation of major businesses to the beltway area will entice suburban sims to work in Lattica's outer counties, which will in turn traffic congestion in the heart of the city. http://img369.imageshack.us/img369/8576/84iz.jpg align=baseline> The I-65/I-70 interchange is still under construction...along with the rest of Milton.
  13. Deluxe Edition Coming Soon!!

    Oh man. SC4 deluxe on Mac?! If Aspyr fixes that ugly grid problem and that BAT nightlighting issue, I'm going to squeal like a little kid and rush to go buy this. My Dell is definitely going out the window if this works out. My fingers are crossed.
  14. Newark

    MayorTim: the dual highways, entangled interchanges, and the sheer density of Newark is remarkable. Good job so far!
  15. Lattica, Hemstead :: The River City

    how_deep: Haha. Thanks! kmoh4346: Glad you like it. Thank you. aleking: I'm glad you liked the shot with the train going over the freeway. It's doesn't really show off the city but it's one of my favorite pics. oroen: Thanks. Glad you like the trains and Northwood. alexr15: Wow, Atlanta, huh? That's ironic. When you leave to go to Stanford I'll actually be in school in Atlanta (Georgia Tech). And yep, I'm a regular poster at UrbanPlanet (I love that place). I have the same username there. pipishere: Thank You so much! jglei701: The walls are located in the STEX. Go there and do a search for Alpha Ville. jacqulina: Thank you. Shadow_Assassin: Haha. Thank You. I can't have Uptown completely full of rich ($$$) snooty sims...gotta get some good ol' hardworking $$ sims in there somewhere. Glad you like the maps. Glenni: Thanks! simster6: Thank you...and this CJ will keep alive and well...although there is a catch (more about that in a sec...). sloppet: Thank you. And the history of Cleres is looking good. Can't wait for the official start of the CJ. Welcome back and I'm glad you're better! vester_DK: Yep, as Dutchdragon said, those are the regular El trains included in the game. Dutchdragon: Thanks. Glad you like. Everyone: Thanks again for the amazing response. I never thought in my wildest dreams that Lattica would be this popular. So thanks, and yes, this CJ will continue on but as I said earlier, there is a catch. Sadly, a new semester starts again in exactly one week. And that means that updates will come at a much slower rate than they are coming now. I'm an arch. major, which means less time to play with SC4, so there will be 5 - 13 days between updates. I hope you don't forget about Lattica...and remember that the CJ will pick up speed on breaks, holidays and vacations. So hang in there, this CJ ain't goin' anywhere. In the meantime, enjoy the next week of updates! Ok, on with the show... _________________________________________________________________________________________________________ http://img242.imageshack.us/img242/5650/16on.jpg align=baseline> Lattica Continues to Boom with Growth Davidson County's population jumped from just over 100,000 in the last update to 123,429...most of that population gain happened on the east side of the river, which is good news for the once ailing River City. West Lattica is no longer the star child of Davidson County as its population saw a slight decline, the first in the history of that city. It seems that sims are now attracted to the big city life. http://img242.imageshack.us/img242/5786/29os.jpg align=baseline> Uptown and nearby Midtown saw the most growth. High-rises popped up on nearly every other street corner, which is good news as most new construction in this city seems to be low density sprawl. http://img242.imageshack.us/img242/6484/35iv2.jpg align=baseline> Don't go looking on this block for a home unless you've got millions of simoleons and a Chase Bank savings account. http://img242.imageshack.us/img242/1253/49co.jpg align=baseline> Northcrest Mall just opened for business. This is Lattica's second mall. Lattica Mall, located in West Lattica, just changed its name to West Davidson Mall. http://img242.imageshack.us/img242/7/58nq.jpg align=baseline> As Midtown exploded with growth, Riverwatch Pkwy. found itself choking in traffic. The popular thoroughfare turned into a virtual parking lot every rush hour, so Hemstead DOT decided to build an alternate route that connected Uptown to Midtown and Downtown...the result was the MidCity Connector. http://img242.imageshack.us/img242/4562/61dr.jpg align=baseline> MidCity connector begins at I-265 in Uptown and ends at Midtown Ave. near the HSU campus. http://img242.imageshack.us/img242/769/76hl.jpg align=baseline> The Downtown skyline just changed a bit. The new Bosworth Tower was constructed, bringing The River City a little closer to the sky. http://img242.imageshack.us/img242/8509/84ck.jpg align=baseline> Following the success of Bristol Park, sims flocked to southeast Davidson County at a rapid pace. http://img242.imageshack.us/img242/3347/90iv.jpg align=baseline> A City Within A City: The Promenade at Bristol Park just opened. http://img242.imageshack.us/img242/3164/105nc.jpg align=baseline> The offices, upscale big box stores and apartment buildings added some much needed density to this suburb of Lattica. http://img242.imageshack.us/img242/9833/113in.jpg align=baseline> All the growth to the southeast of the city is causing some serious traffic problems in the city. http://img242.imageshack.us/img242/1901/120mx.jpg align=baseline> Central Avenue is at its worst. Traffic pileups have now become a daily matter for downtown. DOT is currently looking into options that will help ease traffic congestion on the south side of the city. A new interstate highway and new elevated rail lines are being considered. http://img242.imageshack.us/img242/3913/137zv.jpg align=baseline> The largely untouched land of Northwest Davidson County may see its first major development. A small private university is considering establishing a campus in the rural area.
