ecoba - 3.gif Welp grab your shovels and your seeds. Make sure you pack 3 picnics and a camping tent because it's going to be a long day in Linaton... ...actually a palmtree accent might not look to bad...

I noticed there weren't many views on the previous Story Update I just posted so just incase it was missed, Story Update 7 was posted on Page 60 toward the bottom. It continues from where we left off when Vigilante escaped Soni during the Highway Chase...

    Computer Change -

Sorry for the long delay of Updates but I'm in process of swapping computers. Nothing will be lost in the swap. Infact it kind of helps me reorganize things. When the swap is done, I'm going to start a suburbia project North of Lantia and we'll watch it develope.

The project will carry on into BlueHope II and the expanded region so there will be no major interuptions throughout it. I intend to atleast dedicate 1 update per week but even that is kind of difficult with the turn out of events this year...

    Specs...

    Old Laptop

    Acer Aspire 5570

Purchased - The day before Blue Hope Began, late August of 2007...

Windows Vista AND Windows XP Dual Boot

Windows Vista = Primary O.S. until January of 2008

Windows XP Became Primary from Jan 2008 till now...

    1.7 GHZ Intel Dual Processor

    1 Gig of Ram

80 Gig Harddrive (The Blue Hope was stored on a USB Drive...)

    3 HardDrive Partions

        C:\ = Windows Vista

        D:\ = Windows XP

F:\ = Shared Programs between Vista and XP (So I wouldnt need to install the same program in two different locations thus wasting harddrive...

Best Wireless Network Card I've EVER seen in a laptop...

    All M.S. Office Products

    New Laptop

    Dell Inspiron 1525

Purchased - Monday of this week

Windows Vista AND Windows XP Dual Boot

Windows XP = Primary O.S. until Vista is replaced by Windows 7...

2.00 GHZ Intel Duo Dual Processor

    2 Gigs of Ram

    150 Gig HardDrive

         3 Harddrive Partitions

C:\ = Windows Vista AND Shared Programs

         D:\ = Windows XP

E:\ = Recover Partition for Windows Vista

    Nice sized Monitor...

Wireless Network Card, Not as good as the acer but it still gets the job done.

    All M.S. Office Programs...

I'm quite content with this new machine. I had to get a new one because the Acer's power cord was becoming brittle and ready to break. If I had kept it I would've ended up forking over $100 for a new cord and for that, I may aswell just aim for a newer better laptop...

Anyway when Im done organizing we should see some more story updates and what not...

jonpaulosiglos - Thank you very much!

    Okay another small announcement...

In BlueHope II, Here's how the regions will be organized

You WILL be able to download Newark as a Mega Region, however you'll also have the option to load that Mega Region into Smaller Region Bits...This means that the Mega Region and the Smaller Regions will share the same Parcels and Plugins... But different configuration files.

Listen Carefully to see how this is achieved...

Instead of each region carrying its own Parcel (city files) ALL the city files and plugins will be apart of the MEGA Region on the fileshare center which will beable to be loaded as one mass. However there will be small configuration files along with instructions to segregate the region files SHOULD YOU WISH TO DO SO!!!...

This method will keep only ONE copy of Newark on the fileshare center so there won't be multiple copies of the same city parcel. Meaning if you edit it in an individual region or mega region, people using the mega or individual region will still beable to recieve the files...

Here's an example now... Lets say there were 10 Parcels (although there's going to be WAY more...)

Lets say that Parcels 1-10 was the whole Island of Newark... 1 through 5 represented the Newark Region and 6 through 10 represented the Meridian Region...

If you loaded the MEGA Region CONFIGURATION FILE - You'll see the ENTIRE ISLAND...

If you loaded the NEWARK Region CONFIGURATION FILE - You'll only see Parcels 1 through 5 but NOT the Meridian Region OR the Mega Region...

If you loaded the MERIDIAN Region CONFIGURATION FILE - You'll only see Parcels 6 through 10 but NOT the Newark Region OR the Mega Region...

Mega Region Mode Newark Region Meridian Region
    Parcel 1 Parcel 1 Parcel 1
    Parcel 2 Parcel 2 Parcel 2
    Parcel 3 Parcel 3 Parcel 3
    Parcel 4 Parcel 4 Parcel 4
    Parcel 5 Parcel 5 Parcel 5
    Parcel 6 Parcel 6 Parcel 6
    Parcel 7 Parcel 7 Parcel 7
    Parcel 8 Parcel 8 Parcel 8
    Parcel 9 Parcel 9 Parcel 9
    Parcel 10 Parcel 10 Parcel 10

WARNING!!!: I HIGHLY advise AGAINST installing the Mega Region Mode along with any other Region Modes as this will leave multiple parcel copies on your machine which can result in uploading an Parcel that HAS NOT been modified or worse, an out of date Parcel which could nullify yours or someone elses work!!!

tazdog - Thank you for the compliment, I assure you I give more grattitude to the staff that help this thing keep running. We recieved your request to develope. I would like to wait before I add you into the system as right now we're in the middle of a transition between BlueHope and BlueHope II... BlueHope II will be a much more promising feature however in which you'll have a HUGE region to concile your development upon... I expect it to be fully ready in about two to three weeks, after two more story updates and some website modifications...

phoenix7 - Thank you for keeping up with your job 4.gif

tazdog - Awsome. The only reason I'm not opening the fileshare center is because as it stands, after a brief intermission between moving servers, all the files are zipped. However I can't unzip it from the server meaning I'd have to download it, unzip it, and reupload it and right now my connection wouldnt beable to hold the weight... But I'll get it done soon...

    More News...

The Region for BlueHopeII has been created and it is... 672 Parcel Tiles Large!... Basically, more than 30 times the size of Newark... It does load and run just fine, but for those who still want to downsize, I will still offer configuration files for individual regions...

...Now it's time to see what I've been up to...

    ...The Newark Style Sign Posts...

A good portion of Newarks Freeway is below street level so I needed to adapt a sign post that would beable to mount perfectly even in a sunken area.... Here is the result...

    NewarkSign.jpg

They WILL light up and I'll likely mount them higher but this is just a Demo or Test...

    NewarkSign2.jpg

    NewarkSign3.jpg

    Hope you've enjoyed this...

    anarchy0029 - Thank you very much 4.gif

haljackey - Thanks for the compliment, more to come this update too... I'm trying to aim for an development update every saturday but this year, 2008, ALOT of unpredictable things have been happening to me so I'm just greatfull I can still get online...

Almighty Nienaber - Thank you! I recieved your request on the BHCJ Website to get your account started (again). I want to wait till the implementation of BlueHope II because the files really arn't easily accessable as it stands due to a recent server move attempt...

ecoba - Thank you for the compliment. I know how Vista is, I have it on my machine too but I also dualboot with XP...

newyorkrunaway1 - Rest assure this is only the beggining...

    _________________________________________________________

Now I've decided to take things up a notch for the signs. They will be available both in stand alone lots, and sunken highway tiles... ...Lets have a look see shall we?

The Original Sign Post mounted on a Sunken Highway Wall...

    NewarkSignPost.jpg

The Sign Post now has Sign and Lamp Mounts.

The checkered area you see on the Wall will be level with traffic. The checkered transparent areas are lights and will light up at night to aid travelers as they pass through a darker sunken downtown area...

    NewarkSignPost2.jpg

    _____________________________

Now lets see it with some signs...

    NewarkSignPost3.jpg

The Green cones above it will provide night lighting for the signs below it which is a slightly different design as usually the lamps are place UNDER the sign...

    NewarkSignPost4.jpg

    A better look

    NewarkSignPost5.jpg

And finally, a look at the infastructure that makes the sign up...

On the top of the retaining wall, there will be a fence, a board walk, and palm trees along with occasional benches and shrubbery... I hope you've enjoyed this...

In Game Shots... These are the final exports before they're released to the public. In my second version, I'm going to make diagnal portions along with beggining, ending, and curve slots... but it might be awhile... I need to finish the storyline...

    InGame3.jpg

    InGame1.jpg

As you can see from the previous two images, there's several sign combinations from using the Empty and Signed, Signposts...

    InGame2.jpg

    The wall WITHOUT signs

    Pieces to be included...

    Sunken Highway Wall

Sunken Highway Wall W/ Sign Post

    Sunken Highway Wall W/ Signs

I'll probably include all the Newark Signs just for Variety sakes... but thats them, hope you like them....
