I am eagerly looking forward to BH2 because my other region isn't working out so well. I'll be developing for sure.

    MPTC - Thank you!

phoenix7 - I understand. I'm going to try to have it up and running by Thanksgiving. I'm kind of swamped here with homework so it will take me a minute but at the worst I'll just release it earlier than the next story updates because this IS holding production back...

Good evening ladies and gentlemen. I've decided to conjure up a development just north of the Tuckaway / Lantia area. It is located off of Highway 41 between Newark and Defectia.

But before I do, I want to introduce to you a new region of the island of Newark... Introducing - Meridian - which will be available as apart of the massive island package of the full Newark Map... ...what you are witnessing here is 54 tiles...

    Meridian.jpg

Description: Meridian is Newarks most lush environment filled with lush forestry, the Oconee River, and several rivers. To the west of the Oconee, rolling hills fill the land scape for several miles, some relatively high and filled with natural resources such as oil and coal. To the east, streams and rivers flush onto the flat lands filled with forests forming lakes, ponds, and even islands amongst the lakes... ...Asside from the coastal areas, Meridian will be the most moist area of Newark.

    _________________________________________

And now to my new development, a suburb named Ellena

Entering Ellena via Highway 41 Northbound...

    Hwy49-1.jpg
Cutting through the mountainside on Highway 41

    Hwy49-2.jpg
The ridge is filled with several homes and developments...

    Hwy49-3.jpg
Crossing Ellena Drive. Highway 41 overpasses the route and provides and exit to access Ellena on the mountainside. From here Highway 41 continues to Defectia. Highway 41 typically isn't a freeway, but has occasions where it spawns exit ramps.

    Resort.jpg
Just off the exit sits a mountainside resort. An attractive area for tourists.

    Ellena1.jpg
Development on the mountainside from Ellena.

    Ellena2.jpg
Ellena drive loops around while ascending elevation and prepares to interchange with Highway 41.

    Ellena3.jpg
Overview of the top of the mountains overlooking Ellena Drive and Highway 41

    Ellena4.jpg
Planned new development on Ellena Dr...

    Overview-1.jpg
    Overview of Ellena of Newark.

Thats it for now but there will be more when I get the region complete... hope you enjoyed this.

Ellena is a nice mountain suburb, very reminiscent of the areas east of Sacramento, CA. Those retaining walls at the back of the houses are ugly, but I know you can't really do a ton to fix that. I think you should get a slope mod though, I use this one by un1 on the average setting: https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/details.cfm?id=20571&v=1. I see a great spot for a city in Meridian, do you know when it will be available for development?

blue sinjid - It's quite a challenge rest assure, even now it's a short development break (kind of symbolic to our recession) but things will be rolling again soon. Thank you for the compliment!

un1 - Most of it is with a slope mode for roads, so they're only allowed to go up a certain grade. It allows for smoother inclines / declines. For the developments, I just design them so they're parallell with the side of the mountain. (that way they're slightly more level but the deeper you go the higher or lower you go.

phoenix7 - Cool whats that do? Anyway yeah, they'll all be ready hopefully by Thanksgiving... It takes time to prep 670 Large City Tiles 4.gif

It makes it so roads can't have overly steep grades. It would appear you already have one judging from your reply to un1. Yours seems to allow steeper slopes than the one I'm using, which is probably why it looks weird to me.

Just a friendly reminder: I have not forgotten about this project, I am still working on the tremendously large map but I also had to deal with Final Exams. So far I have about 170 of 670 Parcels labled and ready. The entire map is already an island so most of what needs to be done is land based terraforming. If anyone is interested in helping, I'll be glad to let you in on the project.

Alright - The New Region has been UPLOADED. It is NOT COMPLETE however. You may download it to see and plan however, but do not develope just yet.

I'm asking for terraforming help to complete the new region sooner so those who are interested, contact me via PM. Thanks!

Almighty Nienaber - 500 MB's right now but will be closer to 700 when it's finished. When it is finally done though you will only have to download individual parcels which will be 25MBs a piece...

un1 - udpx is technically dead but the server is still running and so long as it is, I can host and upload/download from there. We MIGHT be on borrowed time though so I may have to switch the servers again.

Almighty Nienaber - Weird I have an altogether different filesize here. - Can you unzip it at all? Or what doesn't work? I might have to re-upload it.

Also I verified the filesize with the file on the server and both my copy and the zip file on the server come out to 549,180,684 bytes - or 523 MB's... ...Remember  it takes 1,000,000 bytes to make one MegaByte... Basically what happened is you have only successfully downloaded about 150 Megabytes of the full file.

Do you have a download manager program?

^^^I was having problems with it as well. Windows kept telling me the zip was corrupted or invalid, and I ended up having to use the other method you gave me.

phoenix7 - Then I see what the problem is. There is a download cap on the server. I am going to resolve that by segmenting the file into smaller parts

no, athens has been in whole redevelopment, there are special signs for all of downtown and new parking meters, that accept credit cards, they are so cool, yeah that last traffic light is all thats really stopping an interstate connection along 316, but i dont use 316 anyway, using 129 past jefferson is much quicker! um any way do you know if there are a lot of restrictions when downloading the region? i have vista and IE quits on me all the time, do we just put it in our regions folder? because thats all i know really how to do, i have read the instructions, but it still doesnt make sense to me, i dont understand stuf easily, and sorry for the duble post, its a bug
