Riviera Island...The Second Coming (Preview and Info)

Alright, so it isn't much, I know....but I just finished my exams, and I'm officially a University of Miami graduate! Still have a two week Summer I class I gotta finish up, but now that I have a little bit more time, I have begun working on my new region....aptly called Riviera Island (same map, but whole new terraforming). The picture above is what I have so far, and I won't be starting up the CJ until probbably early - mid June, when I finally go home.  I was excited about it, though, hence the preview picture. And also, I wanted to begin the premise of my CJ now, so that it will be all ready by the time I get back.

 

Anyone who read Riviera Island knows that I incorporated anyone who wanted to become a part of it. I plan to do the same with this one, too. But I was thinking that maybe we could take it a step further; where people could actually roleplay their characters. Anything would do: let's say RadioHeadFan's (who I expect to be fully involved in this!!) character is the mayor of the town above. As a roleplay, RHF could post a small charter claiming that alchohol is now banned, which would lead to destruction of all nightclubs and bars in the town, perhaps igniting riots and causing people to move away. As a result, he gets ousted next elections around.

 

Let's take another example: Let's say Leech10 has a character, and the character is the multi-millionaire businessman. He decides he wants to open up a huge department store in RHF's characters town. Leech10 then posts a letter on this thread directed to RHF's character, telling him of his intent to open up. RHF then responds with a yes or no. Either way, Leech10 has options: if it is a yes, Leech10 could then either let me (the maestro of this whole mess) to choose a store for him, or he choose one for himself (provide me with a name of a building OR send me a link to a building he wants me to download).

 

The point is, this way the CJ is open ended, and you the readers would be very much involved. Obviously, before any charters are drawn, ventures are presented, or anything like that, you would have to run them by me, as I ultimately do have the final say. But that is simply to keep a control over the CJ and keep everyone happy. And ofcourse, most of the development will be made by me, but this way, you guys can have your input too. Any idea could work: someone wanting to start off a new city, someone wanting to start off a new airline, people going at it a la the original Riviera Island...I would be open to it all.

 

Having presented all this, what do you guys think? No....yes? Its an idea I have been toying with for a while, and I think it would be very interesting. I am awaiting your feedback, guys. Thanks.

hmm it looks nice, but maybe you should think first about terraforming the whole region it would look much, much better... keep up the good job, I'll keep an eye on thius CJ for sure...

The whole region will be terraformed for sure by the time the CJ gets underway, sloppet.  The intention was to throw my idea out there, and see what people had to say about it...hopefully, you will be a part of the CJ, too! Compromise, it will be great having you in the CJ.

Wow, simply beautiful. That waterfront shot is spectacular. I see plenty of my favorite BATs in there: the Wilkshire Tower, the SPH Tower, the Windspear Arena, the Atlantic Plaza...the list goes on and on. Can't wait!

Leech10, the terrain should be Nedalesque, that is, much like Riviera numero uno...flat terrain with random hills and mountains, and a good amount of rivers.

TWrecks, the black building you asked about is the Toronto Dominion Bank Tower, I believe. Glad to see you back.

I really loved the original Riviera Island, I was definitely the biggest fan of that CJ. I think that if you maintain the original strategy, you will achieve the same success you did with RI Version 1.

Yea, I really like it, u thought me a better strategy to make a CJ. I dont have one yet, but planned to make one, but i don't have rush hour expansion, becuz i cant find it, i only decided to play sim city 4 again a few weeks ago, and thats is more than 1 and a half years after rush hour is out i think, so maybe it's harder to find it now, so do u think its okay for a city without avenues,monorails,ferries etc.?

And maybe a little lack of custom buildings and buildings made with B.A.T(BAT is only for rush hour

 

So, any comments?

I got Simcity 4 and Rush Hour when they came out and i have never had commercial buildings over stage 6! You can tell who is bad with commerce!
