Ace_bovenopdeberg, those terminals look excellent, great work 44.gif !  You should consider posting them on the STEX, we are always looking for some more realistic airport lots.

I still  figuring out how to mod these lots, and there are some things I would still like to add2.gif

Release would probably be mid June...something like that41.gif.

Nice airports everyone. Just have a quick question if you place a default SC4 Airport in your city you will see an airport symbol appear on the region map. How do you make it show up with a custom built airport? Thanks.

PS I know I have heard of someone on ST explaining it before but I can't remember who it was or how long ago that was 2.gif

You probably need Swamper77's Airport Support File. It is a modd which enables certain custom Lots to behave like airports.

There has been some discussion about what to name the folder containing the support  file. The name is important, because SC4 loads plugin folders alphabetically. I find that loading the support file before all other Lots (by prepending its folder name with "AA") works for me. You'll have to see which way works for you.

If you want a good airport, i suggest you downloaded from STEX the airport packs by Voltaire, they are VERY realistic, and most even are under the airport menu in game, how conveinent.

You probably need Swamper77's Airport Support File. It is a modd which enables certain custom Lots to behave like airports.

ace_bovenopdeberg, your treminal pack looks great! Hope you can complete it soon. Make sure you use some of Voltaire's airport apron and airport gate textures to add in some realism to the airport gates. Please also try to make the gates so that it looks like if the plane has been connected to the jetway, because i can see a large gap between the jetway and the plane.

I guess when someone would make diagonal runways and terminals so it's possible to make more realistic airports in less space or on land across the seaside.

Hey guys, awesome airports. I just have a couple questions. Are you all making these airports out of packs or custom lotting them? Also, I need some good airport Mods/BATs/Lots. Thanks for the help.

Swap 2.3(it says 2.2 on stex) is the latest pack, it includes Joergs and Thalassicus packs.

ACE will release a pack to build nicer terminals soon(i can say that since the modular ones in swap are mine...)Volitare has made a lot of improvements on the tarmac and runways so download those too(RMIP).

That should be all you need to get started!

Here is Evarin's Airport, as of 1932, when it was first opned, more pictures are avalible in Pakkusena's Thread here.

Yea, KPAX airport is still under construction (for almost a full RL year now hahahahha) 3.gif  And the contractor responsible for this is BLP Heavy Industries (me) ofcourse haha (formerly known as BRAC, INC.).

There's actually funding plans to integrate professional terminal and facilities lots for KPAX, that's the reason why its taking long 2.gif (yes i know, we have expensive hobbies).  It's probably going to open in Q4 this year.

Yeah, though i found the taxiways/tarmac to be hard to place, since we now have 3 different types, and it makes horrible transitons, since we have the place where jets park, aprons and taxiways now... and then the original concreete(i really should update swap with better textures, but i dont have time for it just now(working 40 hour weeks all summer).

Great new that it aleast has a duedate, though i would like to have the current city-file for my region if possible(i dont need all the costum lots, just for the region view, it would be nice.

Also, i think i read womewhere across the forums that you had been working on Kansai International ATCT, but hadnt finished it and abbandoned it? if so, id we willing to take on the task of completeing/texturing it, since it would save me from starting it from scratch(as im kinda planing to do so for Evarin Airport and the Stex)

Hello everyone, you all have some very nice airports, especially since these great packs have been released. I did have an old airport I had shown on this thread but it was deleted (so was the region), so now I have a new airport which is much more realistic.

It is of my current city Hawkinsburg. It's a large airport but not an international one because my city will probably never reach that size to need an international airport.

Here it is Hawkinsburg National Airport

Here is the terminal, which has 35 gates.

Here is the lodging and the ATCT. As you will notice each hotel has a nice park for their visitors.

This pic shows the freight hub and general aviation parking; KHNA handles a lot of cargo.

This is the base for the 160th Airlift Wing, for what airforce I don't know. As you can see it has C-130s, F-14s, and tanks.

Here are the runways, I'm not sure how accurate my runway lengths are but I based them off how long a real boeing 707 is compared to the one in the game. The total length of each runway is from the end of each blast pad to the other.

DuskTrooper that airport in that region is great. An estimate, how much time was spent setting that place up. It really makes my old one look like crap. Congrats though, I hope I can build something like that.

Yoman3, I don't know what the file name is. I did look in my plugins folder but I couldn't find it. But I did get it off the STEX, you'll have to search for it. Thanks for the compliment.
