Thanks, but im not sure about how to make the walkways without the boeings show up. Aren't there tiles that make propellers and small jets show up? I know there's the tiles with the walkways on the ground, but im a bit iffy on building those.

These private jets serve CEO's and people who vist the huge nearby legal drug plant.

Yeah, those are part of RMIP, I think Volume 3. I'm going to show one of my regional airports here once I finish it... well, start it.

Small question guys. I havnt much experience with the BAT etc and I've only played about a little bit with LE but is there a tutorial anywhere on how to change UDI to props like you have done Yoman 3 with the SAS aircraft and can someone provide a link to the tutorial on adding your own livery to in game aircraft? I've seen it before but I can't find it now.

Great work, I like the way people have used real aircraft liveries. 19.gif

Awe pics there you guys. Every airport has its identity so every one is beautiful and original.

Thank you very much for sharing although I don't have material for doing so. Soon perhaps.

Bearmans, i think you will need original gmax-files for that, as its exported as a 3d model into the game(which is why it can be seen at all angles ingame, well theoreticly) we can se them turning on more angles than the props ingame.

once you got the 3d-modles just export it as you would any prop 4.gif

here's one i made. newer runway is the longer one. it only handles jet planes. the smaller, older runway only handles prop planes.

airport.jpg

probably the length of the runways is unrealistic, but i had limited space to work with.

it's unrealistic, both runways can only handle small prop planes, but i still like the way you've done it

I'm Filipino too!!!  I'M FILIPINO TOO!!!

I wonder what's with the recurring occurence of Spirit Airlines planes in these pics...

your airport is very realistic, except that the runway would need precision marks, and the numbers are incorrect.

hey Kabayan!!! so far ive met three kababayans here (including dukstrooper)

Whats wrong with the numbers? lols i just put them there not minding what it meant, and yeah i know i lack precision marks, i pput the sequenced lights instead (saves me space) and by the way, at the 1 tile=16m scale of SC4, this runway is still unrealistic (its only 1800m..lols)

Anyway, do you live here in pinas or are you overseas.?.. sana may Davao International Airport or NAIA TII/TIII bat dito no? hehe 4.gif

The numbers show which direction the runway is, in degrees (only tens ar used - e.g. rwy 04 is 40 degrees off north). If you're landing at rwy 04, you come in from south before landing, continuing northwards on the runway.

About the length of 1 800 m., only the terminal building seems a bit out of place (such a large terminal for a short runway).

Anyway, your runway could serve B737s without problems, and for short runways we always have the BAe 146! (Why haven't anyone made some other regional planes to replace it???

The third busiest London airport, City (LCY) has a runway of 1 500 m., and serves aircrafts up to the size of an A318 (ca. 100 passengers, a A320 derivative) - when LCY expanded it's runway from 900 to 1 100 m., it was especially for the BAe 146 (or Avro RJ85 as it's called in SC), which expanded the range from Paris/Amsterdam all the way to Rome.

well, its hard to make a realistic 3000+ m runway with such small lots in SC4 lols 4.gif such runway would take up an entire large tile length (runway plus misc systems ) so eayh, for this, i only "pretend" that this runway meets international standards

waway625: I'm overseas, somewhere in British Columbia (Canada).  Wait did you say Dusktrooper is a Filipino too?  Well Filipino terminal wish there was 1.  To tell you, there's this other Filipino around called infinitum19, who has a CJ (The Republic of Nivramel).  By any chance do you know him?

It certainly is. For myself, I divide the rwy length by 2, and add one half of of the remainder to get the length of the rwy in SC (Example: I want to build a 2 000 metres rwy, divide by 2 (= 1 000) and adds one half (500) to the number, thus making my real life 2 000 m. rwy 1 500 m. (or ca. 95 tiles) in SC.

However, your airport does not meet the new European safety regulations: 300 m. extra runway in both ends (if you use the one which doesn't have the blast pad you get almost enough (although I cannot remember if that is by using my measurings or not), and 75 m. free-of-obstacles at the side.

@pilotdaryl..yep dusktrooper is pinoy, didnt you know that? look at his avatar, thats Jose Rizal there4.gif another guy, deever, is pinoy 4.gif re: the infinitum19, i havent encounterd him yet 4.gif marunong kang mag p[ilipino? saan ang roots mo?

@nanumea, what do you mean you divide the rwy length by 2? so in your calculation, how many tiles such a 3000m runway be? AFAIK, its the standard to allow jumbo jets 4.gif and re: european regulations, why dont i meet them? but anyways, so my 1800m runway should be how long then? coz i based it on the actual 1tile = 16m assumption

anyway, please take a look at this terminal that i found in the previous pages

http://home.hetnet.nl/~jorritvandommelen/sc4rhpic1.jpg

where can i download the blue-roofed curved building and the square building with a blue lining?

can you suggest other modular packs?

Yeah I speak Pinoy--kababayan4.gif

nanumea-I get it, 2000m RL runway--divided by 2 =1000, add 500 = 1500m (95 tile) runway in SC4.  To note, I don't think his airport is in Europe.

Back to waway--

Really the big guy is a Pinoy guy--the NDEX Skyscraper Machine is actually a pinoy?--

I didn't know that!

Blue roofed terminal building?  Search SWAP on the STEX--the terminal is there.  Although it looks as if u already have it.2.gif

im referring to this blue roofed building kaibigan 4.gif

airport.jpg

saan ba ito maddownload? BTW, off topic here if you are a pinoy living overseas, maybe youd be interested in joining the community @ http://skyscrapercity.com/forumdisplay.php?f=295...you can keep yourself updated on the lastest developents and news in pinas 4.gif

yep the skyscrapermachine is pinoy, si rizal pa nga ang avatar niya..4.gif

so how many tiles does it need for a 3000m runway based on nanumea's calculations? my calculation result is about 140 tiles..is that correct? 4.gif anyway howd you come up with the figures?

and what should i place after the blast pad? there are many options there and they taje up a lot of space, itd be cool though if we can extend these navigation lights to the sea without having to terraform land 4.gif and yeah, will the sequenced lights do? its the least space demanding light nav aid available

@pilotdaryl, you say you live near BC?thats near Vancouver right? my dad lives in calgary 4.gif

@Waway625: The Building you want is included in SWAP, i know that because i made and uploaded the building in question XD

Il send it over to you per Email if you dont want any of the other things around, and il even make it into a Landmark(eyecandy) version if you want that. Atm it functions as a Airport and needs the remainder of that Swap-pack(or rather, two files in the pack). If you want i can help draw up some quick hints to make your airport look a lot more realistic, because i really like the layout of it 4.gif

@nanumea: Just had to compliment on your sig because it looks amazing! some really good editing or something there!

As for scaling Runways, there are several Methods, il list the ones i know of;

Sc4-Scale, 1 Tile = 16m

Blahdy's Scale, 1 Tile = ~48m

My Scale, 1 Tile = 32m

The one mentioned above, 1 Tile = 24m

My saying is that its perfectly up to each person to chose what scale they want, Although Volitares Runways are Optimised for Sc4-Scale(16m), especially if using all the american markings. I use a personal mix of the Canadian Markings so i can fit a 2km runway on about ~64 tiles, and a 4km one on 128 tiles. Blahdy uses runways he has batted himself, i belive these are just 1 tile wide to look better with the scale he uses.

Before Swap was released a BATter named joerg made an airport pack. I believe swap causes conflicts with joergs pack and thats why it says to delete them. Thanks for the info on scales Xiziz, I always wondered how you scaled your airport.

I measure my runway scale by 500ft intervals (the distance between TDZ markings in RL).  500ft converts to about 152m.  152 divided by 8 (Voltaire's distance between TDZ markings)=19m.  If the distance between TDZ markings is 500 ft, then each tile would be 19x19m.  If you're using wide runways that results in a reasonable runway width-57m.

In that case, waway's runway would be 82 tiles, or 1558m, or 5110ft long.

It's reasonable.

lols imagine an international airport with only 1558meters of runway 4.gif

anyway, if i were to base the runway length on diff scales, id have (118 tiles)

SC4 = 1888m

Blahdy's = 5664m

xiziz = 3776m

Nanumea = 2832

in my case, the last one would be most reasonable 4.gif..so im going to expand the runways a little to reach 3000m

This image is taken straignt out of my AJ, Sim International Airport, and is for testing a new picturelayout, so the picture is halfcrappy, it however shows a airport. shame the policeheli came chasing that badger across the runway... mean cops...

(due to the recent discussions about scales and runways)

Runway is 76 tiles long which makes it by default 1216m long, or short, however since i use my own scale, its actually 2432m long, ive conpensated the distance inbetween markings for this aswell(using about 60% of the intended SC4 scale distance).

The following setup is used because of the mountains in the north:

Runway 18 is only for takeof's

Runway 36 is only for landing's, Has a SSALR lighting setup, and is setup per Canadian Standards.

Airport is also equpped with a VORTAC transmitter.
