Nobody in his right name would name any comestible after a hard drug.  How about a candy bar named Opium?  It is bad enough that there are funny names in scents.

It was a badly thought out marketing ploy that didnt work out.

They should take all those energy drinks off the shelves

thier all "speed in a can".

no one needs that much caffine and suger.

If you need that much stimiulant to stay awake in class or at work your just not getting enough sleep.

Wow. Off the top of my head, that has to be one of the most idiotic marketing ideas I have ever heard of.

Easy Bakes...do you realize what you are saying?!!?

Without energy drinks...no one would have energy....

Consider this...technically coffee is the original energy drink....without coffee...where would modern man be?

oh and I like the idea of Cocaine...the only reason i never bought one was due to the fact these were already took off the market here in California....damn republicans...

but I knew about this drink like two years ago///it was selling good....

the FDA was just jealous...

I'd like a bar of candy called Cannabis Crunch....9.gif

Lol. Why ban this, just cause idiots think it actually contains cocaine? This is kinda like coke, except coke doesn't really have cocaine in it either.

I think it was an idiotic marketing ploy, but I don't see what's the issue. If cocaine addicts were buying it thinking it was cocaine let them. Who cares?

Well, yeah, it did, but do we force coke to take the coke out of the name?

I had a Vault once and it was lame.  I had a Rockstar: Juiced the day I took the SAT though, and that worked.  Two hours of sleep and a Rockstar, and I still got a pretty respectable grade. 3.gif

it tasted like crap, and had way too much sugar to make the 200mgs of caffiene worth while. want what it gave you, pop a no-doze and save your tastebuds.

respectable as in slightly above average? I'm sure cramming right before the test didn't help very much, and the 2 hours of sleep might have even hurt your score...

I remember a girl in high school in Driftwood named Nikky Teen. I didn't particularly care to ask her out though.

I think it actually was rather smart marketing ploy... It all depends who are the target market. And another thing if you personally don't like it or find it offensive to your set of values or believes it doesn't yet mean it is bad. Others may find your values to be offensive on some level. All-in -all people have to learn to be more tolerant and logical at the same time. It isn't always easy, especially for those who come from the background heavily based on a strict BELIEF system.
BTW have any of you heard of OPIUM from YSL

Wow, Well considering the damage and problems such drugs as cocaine cause in society

i thinks it absolutley disgusting that a soft drinks company should promote it . Thats like telling kids its ok to try .My home City is full of desparate drug addicts, and im sure products named in such ways would persuade more kids to experiment with drugs than already do.Pity the company cant be held responsible for its wreckless actions .

I don't think it's promoting the use of cocaine, I think it's promoting the use of their soft drink as an ALTERNATIVE to cocaine...

Heh. This makes me think of another brilliant marketing ploy that I saw about 10 or 15 years ago. It was a kid's sugar drink that was put in a container shaped like a gun. In order to drink it, you had to put the gun in your mouth and pull the trigger.

Yup, that was on the market for all of 5 seconds. 3.gif I would have loved to have seen the product development team. "Let's make a gun-drink! Parents will LOVE that!"

I would hope that kid would be smart enough to tell the difference between that drink and a real gun. 34.gif

generally, real guns are black or an unattractive color (have you ever seen a lime green plastic pistol?)...was there a reason why guns are so drably colored?

Hilarious!

As far as energy drinks go, I'm partial to the Sobe No Fear Gold...tastes good and it really gets me going, but I certainly don't drink it regularly. Hyphy (yes that's an energy drink too...and guess what, it's made in Oakland! Go figure) also tastes good, but doesn't do much for energy. The other two I've had are Monster and Red Bull. Red Bull tastes like liquid kid's cherry Tylenol and Monster is over-saturated with...something. Still haven't had a Rockstar yet...I'll have to try one soon. That and those knockoff drinks that are super cheap. Have to see if any of those are good...my wallet will thank me.

I've tasted monster and red bull and I think they both taste the same (at least, the blue monster does)
