The mosaic master strikes again! 3.gif Very nice, beebs. Great assortment of trees that blend well together. I'm liking the cows, too! 4.gif Can't wait to see the SG improvements in the next update.

Update time! As promised, I've got a Capilano/Spruce Grove update for you guys today.. they're a little shorter than I was hoping for but it should do for now, I hope. Well, lets have at it!

    capilanoproper1.jpg

Starting to move into Capilano Valley itself now, this is one of the residential areas just off the highway. The trees that were left between the houses and the highway creates enough of a barrier to help reduce the sound noise.

    capilanoproper2.jpg

A relatively new school to the town, Michener Elementary School is the third elementary in town, created from a booming residential demand. The school is named after a mountain in the Capilano Valley area.

    capilanoproper3.jpg

And just a nice overview of this area.

    sprucegrove_banner.jpg

    impinf1.jpg

And like I promised, here's a look at the road improvements that have been made in the area. You can see the city has planned ahead in some of these neighborhoods by leaving green space for future expansion of the road networks. A little cheaper than having to buy the houses along the road before mowing them down. 2.gif

    impinf2.jpg

A few avenues have been put in to help relieve increasing traffic demands on the roads.

    impinf3.jpg

Easily one of the busiest stretches of road in the town. Expansion has been delayed by the 7-Eleven and Java Hut that sit right in the path of the proposed avenue expansion. The town is hoping things can wrap up quickly.

And that's all I got today, folks! I may have a mini update sometime in the week, but like always our full update will come on Saturday. Until then, so long! 9.gif

This would be an awesome update if it weren't for the fact that I just plain don't like you beebs 11.gif

This CJ went from good to great and now it's simply rockin'! And it's not just the graphics you use, it's mainly for me the greenery and the layout. It's realistic, it's pretty, and it's functional. One of my favorite CJ's on this site. Looking forward to more updates. 4.gif

I HATE those bright yellow houses, because there's one in my neighbourhood painted bright yellow, supposedly to take revenge on the neighbours, who now have to look at it all the time. I think I'd be more embarrassed to live in it, myself.

Otherwise, it's a great update! Hopefully the 7-11 and Java Hut move over.

nice CJ beebs!!! the pix are great and the story line is going great. the fire was a nice touch. reminded me of when i lived in LA County. i have a small complaint about the newspaper. never write in the 1st person, u did that on several articles. the columns should be square on the left and right sides. when u write about the mayor or any other person in a story use the whole name and title the 1st time u mention them and then after that just use thier last name for the rest of the story.

these seem like petty things but it will add to ure story, u would be following a few of the guidelines set forth by the Associated Press. my girlfriend is a journalist for a local news paper and thanx to the Ohio Air National Guard has been to school for this.

im not hating on ure CJ just trying to help you with some realism. im doing the same thing with my upcoming CJ too. but mine is all newspaper. good luck and keep up the good work!!!

    sac_spruce_banner.jpg

Update time! And unfortunately, I come bearing some bad news. 15.gif It seems Spruce Grove became corrupted and no longer loads. I've tried everything myself and the helpful folks in chat could think of but nothing seems to be able to get it working again. I'm keeping the region in hopes that I can one day find a solution.. but for now, I'm starting up Spruce Grove v2.0. Don't have much so far, but this is just a mini update. 2.gif

    inprogress.jpg

Yes, it's a rare in-progress shot. I've still got some work to do, fine tuning up some roads before I start laying down zones and plopping my commercial, but I do think it is coming along nicely myself.

And.. erp.. that's all I've got. I'm kinda frustrated, I had a bunch of new stuff in the old Spruce Grove I was hoping to show off tonight. But hopefully this will tide you guys over until the weekend. So until then.. Adios, folks!

tahill79: Well I never claimed to be a stellar newspaper writer. 3.gif Thanks for the advice though, and good luck with your CJ! 4.gif

Ouch.  I had to completely re-render a massive 200 tile region a while ago just to get a copy of one tile that became corrupted, so I could replace it back into my region.

The interesting thing is that the second time around it turned out much better.

    Kia kaha.

    (Be strong.)

Edit:  PS:  What is the dress code for the Memorial Service?

    sac_redriver_banner.jpg

Update time! We start today in Red River.

    cemmosaic1.jpg

    cemmosaic2.jpg

    cemmosaic3.jpg

Like I said in the last update, we would have the memorial service.. unfortunately because of rain it was forced to be postponed until today, but here is where Spruce Grove v1.0 now lies. 15.gif

    sprucegrove_banner.jpg

    teaser.jpg

But now, moving on to Spruce Grove v2.0, here's what we've got developed so far. The mall you see here just off Highway 16 is the Parkland Mall, named after the county the town resides in.

    parklandmall1.jpg

There's been a fair bit of development in the way of new commercial around here lately, with the boom times in Alberta. The empty grass field at the bottom used to be populated by wonderful elms, but all had to ripped out after they died from disease.

    seniorhousing.jpg

And on the north end of the mall, seniors residents are popping up all over. It's looking to be a fair sized development once completed.

And that's all I've got for you today, folks! Check back next week, when we delve back into the Valley for a mega-update there! Until then, so long!

    commentssac.jpg

haljackey: Indeed. 15.gif Hopefully you like the way Spruce Grove 2.0 is going so far!

    cheese91: Poor sprucie 15.gif .

Cheese89: This is true, and I've got a few ideas planned already. Just have to wait and see what pops out!

abcvs: Eeks.. thankfully, with only one tile developed in the region, this wasn't quite as huge a process. Still sucks though.

    nihonkaranws: 15.gif

ilikehotdogsalot: I appreciate the condolences. 15.gif

    anik: Hehe, thanks!

SWAT-MEDIC: We did. 15.gif Thank you, hopefully you like the way 2.0 is shaping up!

GreekMan: I should have. And I probably still should. 3.gif And what? You lost me with the last two lines lol.

    pcgirl24: 15.gif Thank you 4.gif

edmonton_stinks: Hopefully you like the way it's coming together 4.gif

un1: Circle of Life, eh? Well I wanted this thing to be immortal. 3.gif Thanks 4.gif
