I know that, but I have a downtown city and I don't want to create a huge hole and plop an airport. There must be a plugin with a 1X1 tile that could act as an airport.

I think what Mayor_1337 means is that 1x1 airport tile that acts like an airport but has no planes/airtraffic. I forgot the name of that lot.............

yes infact you can do it your self. Just create a simple box in gmax and export it. Then fire up the PiM and drag the item to Airports and define the values. then create a simple lot and ready.

Im sorry but im unfamiliar with these terms as I have never once used gmax and have no experience in BATing. And even so what exactly is "PiM"? Could you explain it to me?

Ive been looking around for a ingle 1x1 lot which functions as a large maxis International Airport.

PIM is Plug In Manager and that is on the offical site that you can download and change propertys of sc4model files...

Hmm if its all the same i really prefer to download it. Despite of which im not trying to be lazy, If i can I would really like to learn how to do this as you mentioned SimRabbit123 but im the type that needs to see visual step by step instruction in order to make it myself as simply describing it doesnt seem to help me understand how to get the task done. Im not really willing to trouble anyone to teach me the fundamentals and basics of how to exaclty accomplish this though that would be nice.

If there already exists a small 1x1 lot that I can download, i would like a link to it, if not then its okay, I really don't mind.

That would indeed create an airport lot that would be available in the airport menu.

However, unfortunately it won't function fully as an airport.

A functional airport requires certain developer files to go with it, and must also be included in a developer property listing all available airports.

It also seems like the number of functional airports you can have is limited to 16, and these have already way back been reserved by those terminals included in SWAP 2.3.

If you really wanted to create a functional airport sized 1x1, you would have to edit an existing one by Maxis or SWAP for your own purposes. But that would require rather good knowledge into how the airport developer files are structured and how to use iLive's Reader.

There's is indeed a functionel 1x1 airport somewhere on the net for those who didn't like to have airports in their cities but the effects of it. I know I saw it , wether here on the STEX or on another site (asian maybe?).

There must be someone who remembers where......

Well the smallest one I saw was made by suplado! in his CJ Jargeah. And I saw a thread where someone, using the bus tram in SWAP 2.3 airport pack and made it into a 3x3 lot with airport functionality. I think RippleJet made that himself if i am not mistaken.

Ive been searching around simtrop for some time for such a lot and around SC4devotion as well. Been in and out of various Japanese sites as well not and several other ones, but my search still came out without result. I even tried googling it. lol.

Well guess i have to wait around a lot more and keep searching.

I will be searching too, since I saw it somewhere maybe two years ago or so and I remember thinking what's the use of this when one cannot see any planes on a runway, why take away the fun of seeing the planes come and go. Now I understand, if someone only wants to have the effect of an airport, but actually not have it take so much room in a city. Anyways, I'll be searching for it and hopefully find it.........

If you give credit to the creator for creating the mainlot or whatever you're talking about and mention that you only edited it, I don't see a problem, but careful, there are some very sensitive  and triggerhappy folks out there that may shoot you on the spot......lol. You better ask for their permission first, if they are available somewhere.

Otherwise you may give us a link to the original.

mrb: I believe suplado! is talking about the lot which he edited from the bus tram in SWAP 2.3 airport pack into a fairly small lot which has the same airport functionality. Its in his CJ Jargeah. as i mentioned previousl, so its small and its exactly what I need.

It would be nice to see it on the STEX so i can download it to help fullfill my city building needs. But yes its best if you inquire with the original creator first. Wouldnt want you to get into trouble for nothing.
