if hawkpride decides to keep everything in one place, Ill delete this and post in the main thread.
anyway the main thread was getting too clutter so I thought I would make this the official

Rosters and Transactions Thread

As people give me there roster, i will post each teams roster, info on transactions and stuff.
plus i will post the basic guidlines for transactions/rosters. This is just a thread for roster management, transactions and stuff, so the main thread isnt so cluttered.

Ill post info/rosters soon! 9.gif

Alfred--Assitant commissioner

Need A roster??

Step 1: Make Roster.
every team starts out with a roster of 14 players. Now I can make you a roster, or you can make your own. Names can be real life people, or made up, but dont copy people from others rosters, or transactions will be confusing.

Step 2:Fill in Skill Points.

Each team starts off with 930 skill points, which they can assign as they wish among their players. you may go under 930, but not above in your total skill point total(sounds funny). Players cant go over 100 skill points, or below 1.

Step 3:Make Contract.

In the first season, each team must give all 14 players a contract. It must have the number of seasons 1-6, and the amount of money.

Money must be distributed this way.

Skill Level/ Money per year minumum.
anything above 0-500k
75- 600k
80- 700k
85- 1 million
90- 4 million
95- 5 million
96-6 million
97- 7 million
98- 8 million
99- 9 million
100- 10 million

you may go 100k below the minumum if you need to add another player to your roster.
How your skill total effects gameplay

A teams total skill point level wont effect the game till the first transaction is made, but once each teams got a different total, heres how it works.

the generator spits out this score
Team A 4
Team B 2

Team A has a total skill of 900
Team B, 910

The difference between the two is 10.
Take the difference (10) divide by 5.
2.

Take two, tack it on to Team B's Score.

Team A 4
Team B 4.

Teams can't get more than 4 extra points.
Part 3: The All Star Game

the all star game will work almost the same way, but divided by two an no extra point limit.

genorator comes out with

Shortstop A-100 votes
Shortstop B-97 Votes

Shortstop A-85 overall
Shortstop B-97 overall

Difference-12 overall. 12 divided by 2
is 6.

Shortstop A- 100 votes
Shortstop B- 103 Votes.

There is no limit to the amount of votes a team gets.

Salary Cap

35,000,000 per year

if all rosters are nearing the cap, I might raise it in offseason 1.

Rosters need

players for every posistion, plus  a three man rotation. i will allow three bench spots once the regular season begins.

Players must have skill, age, contract, name, posistion, team.

Follow my guildlines or i may have to edit your roster.

Offseason Draft

draft list for scouting coming soon!

perfect!- your totals came to exactly 930 skill points, and the contract was at 31,105,000, so you have 95,000 in cap, so that should give you a small advantage when i raise the cap in the regular season.

For that, I made thechance discovery of what options the Sum button makes available - if you have Excel 2003, it's the one with a sigma on it. You can choose either Sum (which will total the values of whatever cells you specify) or Avg (which will, unsurprisingly, average those same cells' values). It's quite handy! Also, you're welcome.

im going to put in dave the hokies roster then from now on i would prefer them in excel, it goes so much faster. Plus when i put yours in , it may not go the way you like, like for the rouge dragons, i accidently did the skill and salary by myself.(dont worry youve got 8 million in CAP room thanks to me!)

Do you know the 'text to columns' function in excel? If you use a space as a delimiter it should put everything nicely into columns for you.

For those who are still struggling - it wasn't that bad once you figure out what you need. Honest! 1.gif

    Rosters Made Easy:

    1. You need 8 hitters (C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, LF, CF, RF) and 3 pitchers on your roster. Give them all names (arguably the hardest step 2.gif 2.gif

    2. Give each player an age. This must be between 22 and 38, and the average for all 11 players must be between 27.5 and 28.5.

    3. Give each player a skill rating. This is a number between 0 (amoebic) and 100 (Ruthian), and is completely up to you. The only condition is that the total skill for all 11 players must not exceed 930. If all 11 players were equally skilful they would have a skill rating of approximately 84.

    4. The salary each player gets is somewhat dependent on their skill, as follows:

    Skill / $ per year

    0-74  $500k

    75-79  $600k

    80-84  $700k

    85-89  $1 million

    90-94  $4 million

    95  $5 million

    96  $6 million

    97  $7 million

    98  $8 million

    99  $9 million

    100  $10 million

These are minimum values, so if you think a player is worth it you can pay them more than this.

The salary cap for your team is set at $32.2 million per year for now, but will rise later so you can buy some more players.

    5. The length of the contract is completely arbitrary, but cannot exceed 6 years. It's best to give your young players the longer contracts.

    6. PM Alfred (patriots_1228) with all this information and let him do the rest 44.gif

I'm still in but I'll probably need you to make the roster. If that's OK. I may at least get some made-up names to you in a few days if I get a chance.

NEWS: instead of posting each roster with the teams, i am going to post the whole spread sheet at the top of the page, and update it each time. Once again, this makes things easier and quicker, plus, you can veiw every roster at once easily. I'll also post the free agents and the draft books sperately. Plus, when i convert my images they get blurry, so by doing what im donig it will be clearer.

IDS2: no need got your roster already.
