Sweet3.gif I stayed there last time I went to Berlin. Looking good! Any change you'll be BATing Hauptbahnhof later? That'd be really cool to have in SC.

Hi Andi! It's about time you started a new BAT thread! Nice work you have so far! It looks identical in design to the real thing. 2.gif Did you get 3D Max? And if not, how did you get the different building perspectives like that?

That's one cool looking model! And these (this sized buildings) are really needed for the game. Most attentions goes to either big (very tall) or small stuff, and these midrise niche is quite unfilled. There are quite few of them around Potsdammer Platz - excellent source!

    jacqulina: thanks so much^^

simfox: Yeah. I share this opinion. especially in berlin we've got lots of mid-rise buildings because we don't really have skyscrapers here... though.. I really wonder why :S

gekco: lol thx. but the overhanging was an accident. I'll fix it.. I just saw it on the pic ^^ originally it was supposed to be on the same line with the other wall

    nofunk: thy ^^

Skyscrapers normally get up into the sky where the land is at the premium, in Berlin this isn't a case at the moment. But Skyscraper isn't same as Good Architecture... so people should be more concerned with quality (architectural) of buildings not their height. Have you given thought of doing Sony Center? Of course greatest thing about it – its atrium with that spindle, but it is quite good from outside as well…
And Lehrter Bahnhof… but that one could be a tuff cookie! All that glass! And as you’ve mentioned Size. Plus I believe the curve is quite essential and be it but a simple cross it would loose that appear of mix of angles and curves that makes it quite so special..

Cool...is this what Potsdamer Platz looks like now? I once did had to do an urban design study on historic Berlin, focusing mostly on Unter den Linden (the street from the Brandenburg Gate to the Lustgarten and Dom), but including some of the other old city gateway and ceremonial areas. It is always eerily nostalgic to have poured through dozens of old 18th-century plans and prewar photos, and now to see the modern growth.

Hmmm...I wonder if anyone has actually BATted Schinkel's stunning Altes Museum?

I don't think so. but it'd be cool of course.

    ahh and yes

the potsdamer platz is probably the most modern place in berlin now. but it's architecture isn't simple.

here are some other pics I'v taken from the >>Potsdamer Platz<<

thx for the power jacqulina =)

    @josefmayor

    ouuuuh Berlin^^

I can recommend the free sightseeing tours. They're hold in several languages and you learn lot of interesting background facts. But they're made by feet . You visit Pariser Platz, Holocaust Memorial, the place where Hitler's Bunker was, Treasury Ministry, Berlin Wall, Checkpoint Charlie, Gendarmenmarkt, Bebel Platz, Humboldt University and the Lustgarten on the Museum's Island. The tour ends there but you can walk to the Alexanderplatz, it's just a few minutes away xD

Omg the guy had such an odd accent... for school we made that tour in english.. the guide came from northern england and had a really hard yorkshire accent. but lucky that the weather was nice.

I was in Paris 3 years ago. It's really a bautiful city. Especially when you've got nice weather. But pay attention to the traders. They know things to steal your money... I lost maybe 10
