SC4 Extra Cheats DLL

You can quick-save your city by pressing ALT when clicking on "save" (or using the keyboard shortcut). This will skip the creation of a city thumbnail for the regional map. As MrCinatit said, this DLL is not really a "cheat" DLL, but merely a DLL that enables some extra functions for the developers, in order to test the game (just look at the "create exception" feature, which will throw you to the desktop on purpose). Some things are basically eye-candy, such as plopping individual buildings, or the snow feature (which is an easteregg built into the game and will show up every Christmas). Others are only for testing purposes (such as Draw Paths and the aforementioned "crash" option), and only very few of them are really useful (such as the "Show Time" one, I always missed the real time clock in SC4).

well there is a quick save that you can do without the cheat...if you press ctrl-alt-s everything will be saved except for the city region thumbnail so its alot quicker. its great for me because i crash my game with network pieces every 15 minuits and waiting for the regular ctrl-s save can be mind numbingly time consuming when you have almost a gig of plugins....

Is there a listing of what all the new cheats are and their functions?  The majority of the cheats I have no idea what they are supposed to do.  Excellent work though!

Just had a thought: If you used Terraformer or the like to create your region, would you still get snow? Some of the people who still don't have snow in mid-January on very high ground might have formed their regions using some plug in like that and therefore the snow easteregg would not recognise the altitudes of the tool... Could someone verify or deny?

You can still get snow using Terraformer. The only problem is that the altitude of the lowest point of the snow line is about 380, and the water level is at 250. So you can't have snow that goes down to the waterfront.

If someone was able to move the bottom of the snow down, or move the level of the water up, it would work.

where can i download this. I downloaded it when it was first first posted, but i appear to have 'lost' it. Now the attachment appears to have dissapeard from the first post. I also looked in the modds and downloads and on stex but couldn't find it

I managed to do this with a modded version of the Columbus terrain modd. (And yes, that snow is seasonal.)

Also, a question: Could it be made so that  certain cheats are activated once the game loads (for example, the clock)

What realy amazes me is the dedication to finding easter eggs in these games... I can't beleive how much stuff has been unearthed in SimCity. It is also amazing the fact that Maxis would hide so much, especially the snow cheat. I think its a funny, no harm cheat (I wouldn't even call it a cheat).

I haven't passed judgment at all.  In fact, here's the last substantive thing I said in the post.

As for the jaggies- trees- lots of trees- come to mind.  I'll leave that today for you to check out if your interestedquote>

Great minds think alike, eh?  In fact, I pretty much plan to use the cheat in my CJ, as I think it is wonderful.  Perhaps one of the great minds here will figure out the jaggies along the way.  If not, there's lots of trees available.

REQUEST FOR BUGGI....since you discovered this DLL Cheat stuff. can you PLEASE list and post what everysingle cheat does??? I think this may free up a lot read time on the message board here....I know I have requested before, and i think someone else requested if you could do it and list it, and you may have responded with "If you have time" I hope you do....I know trial by error is the best way to go, however, never know if it works if you dont know what to look for.....Can you please help us all. If you already listed the cheat code: and what it does, my apologies for not seeing it on here. Way to go btw ...again. Love the cheats....hehe

Place it in your My Documents\SimCity4\Plugins without any more subdirectories. It should work.

Does this require Rush Hour? 

SC4 crashes everytime I start the game with the dll in the plug-in folder.

I think it does need Rush Hour or Deluxe as one of the cheats enabled is UDI (U Drive It) which was an option made available in the expansion... I'd suggest taking the file from the folder until you get the expansion pack, otherwise you'll be causing yourself more hassle than it's worth. Sim City 4 should work fine with it removed. If not, then it's another plug in you have...

OK, then get yourself a copy of Deluxe or Rush Hour Expansion and then you can use the .dll file in it

You could before, but your elevation has to be high.  Look at the Arctic snowcapped region mod.

This is truly fabulous! I'm creating a super-realistic region and most of my plugins are growable only! I have one complaint, though (this is also a warning for everyone else): the PlopAllBuildings cheat. It completely destroyed an Italian ethnic neighborhood I was creating last night. Whatever you do (warning part), DO NOT USE PlopAllBuildings or Lots if you have lots of plugs or are creating a new city. TopCliff

this work  sounds awesome, but I'm hesitant to use it until I know what all the various "cheats" do.  Is there a list or descriptions of each somewhere? I'm always worried about screwing up my game.

cheats mod works just great finly a way to get the snow without changing the pcs date or wating till onceb a year .cant belive after all this time buggi is still comming up with such great ideas
