The tallest building in Seattle is actually not the Space Needle, but another SC4 landmark building:

~Images must be 800 x 600 or smaller~

It's no longer the Colombia Seafirst Center, it's called (like seemingly half the skyscrapers in the US) the Bank of America Tower. 947ft (285m). It is, when measured by floors, the tallest building west of the Mississippi.

Boston's Next tallest.... 1,000 footer. 1163454847_4706.jpg

the design could change... but chances are because the mayor proposed the idea, and the winning proposal owns the land already and the adjacent property that this will go through quickly.

One Liberty Place is Philadelphia's
largest building standing at 945 ft (288 m), with 61 floors. I

believe it’s the 17th or 18th largest building in the lace w:st="on">United States

liberty1_blue_pink.jpg

They're also building the Comcast center to stand at 975 ft. and should be finished sometime in 2007.3.giflace>

Tallest here is One London Place.  Its a shinny blue office tower in London, Ontario, Canada.

Fact:  It is the tallest biulding in Ontario outside of Toronto, or 3rd tallest in Canada.

EDIT: reduced size of picture to 600X800 to comply with site regulations

Since I technically live in St. Paul, MN, here's our tallest Wells Fargo Place

Someone has already posted the tallest for Minnesota, the IDS Center which stands at 241 meters.  Quite a beautiful building and the other two tall downtown buildings are very close at 237 and 236 m for 225 South Sixth and Wells Fargo Center respectively.  However, IDS might not be the tallest building in Minneapolis by 2010 as a possible 1000 footer (or at least new tallest so 800 to 1000+) could grace our skyline 3.gif.  This tower will be located next to the first skyscraper of Minneapolis, the Foshay Tower so for a time, the oldest and newest towers will share the same block.

I can proudly say the tallest tower in my city is the Williams Tower (Transco Tower).

The Williams Tower is the tallest building in the world outside of a central business district.

The Williams Tower in Houston (And notice all the sprawl of Houston too 3.gif ):

Greetings from Sydney....

Though it screams the 80's mantra of "me too!!!", this is AMP Tower at about 320 metres. Gladly there are now more attractive buildings on the skyline. Then again, this is just my opinion and I am sure others would disagree....

The Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth (first picture) is probably my nearest tall building (I live just outside of Winchester if anyone knows the place)... apart from that... the tallest building in my town is either the Norman church, or the mid 19th Century Community Centre... a two storey construction... London is not too far away, and that is certainly having a bit of a skyscraper boom. In 2000 there were 2 skyscrapers. Now there are 8. By 2010 there will be dozens... with the two tallest, The LOndon Bridge Tower, and the Bishopsgate Tower looking really fantastic...

You're correct, the JP Morgan Chase Tower is the tallest and also the Williams Tower is the 3rd tallest.

That is true. The Chase Tower is the tallest. But, the Williams Tower is the tallest in the world outside of a central district. In other words, Williams is not actually in the heart of Houston which is why it is considered the tallest. Yeah, it's complicated.

Umm...how do you post pictures?? quote>

What the...where did you hear that?  I'm from Minneapolis, and that's some exciting news!  I'd love for there to a taller building in Minneapolis...it's sad when the Eiffel tower is taller than your tallest building

Check out www.minnescraper.com

or

www.skyscrapercity.com under the Minneapolis Development 1 Thread

They have already announced the company that is going to design this new tower and they have an order for "cheap" but it also requires 1.2 million square feet, smaller than IDS, but the footprint on the Foshay block (where it will be located) is smaller resulting in a taller, slender tower.

Good to know that there are more Twin Cities users here.

Edit http://www.bizjournals.com/twincities/stories/2006/10/16/story1.html?b=1160971200^1360431

Theres an article that announced this.  There seems to be a few industry insiders at minnescraper or at least well informed enthusiasts.
