aking88 Thanks! I am glad you like it. And, glad to see you in Schulmania. Do please come back.

Leech10 Diborane ignites when in contact with air? Must be some of that in those bean burritos I had for dinner... yeah, that's the ticket! I did notice a green fireball too!

Russ93Plyr Thanks for coming to Schulmania! You do have a sharp eye - it is indeed the White City. It's a cool thing - wish I could make a whole city like that. Please do come back again soon.

ky72x Thanks. I was going to use sandstone ped mall tiles but I liked the blending of the plazas with the wavy brick tiles as well.

NMUSpidey But, the courage of a fearless crew will keep the ship from being lost...

Shanna Thanks! Glad as always to see you here.

Csgcseri Thanks! Of course, the cats like more closed up spaces... better for hunting and such.

Smarty218 Actually, I have !20 pix left of New Atkinos, I may make it 2 updates and save the poor dialup people!

Hester Sorry - I have been acquitted!

    Abcvs On my coconut radio?

    Smarty218 Thanks! And I don't feel a day over 6000!

    Abcvs Less fiber, perhaps?

NMUSpidey He's currently behind me... he's a bit slow of foot.

gabry85 Thanks! I am putting all of this on my resume.

    anarchy0029 More shall be coming.

sc4portugal Obrigado, Daniel. Glad to see you back in town.

Maranello575 Thank you and welcome to Schulmania! I am glad you like what you see and look forward to seeing more of you here. As for the plazas, they are from BLaM and available on the STEX. They are modular plazas, some from the "French Connections" series.

    DioAngel Thanks, Sister In Comedy!

Joetropian1 Well, maybe NEXT to the last... with 20 pix to go that is! You were looking for a wascawwy wabbit? I think he went the other way... distracted by a mechanical rabbit sent out by the evil scientist.

NMUSpidey Sounds like I need to start issuing passports again!

I noticed some of the buildings arent connected to roads but only the plazas. Do the plazas act as a path for the people to access these buildings?

    New Atkinos: Strolling About Town

Along the waterfront, Nine Tails is truly whipping up retail excitement. But, there's more going on in New Atkinos than fine retail establishments. The lighthouse, which doubles as an observation tower, is a town landmark and a popular destination. It has its own promenade. There's also a large market by the Community House. Commercial and retail abound, and there are a few agricultural spots included here and there. On our stroll today, we will look at more of the town, staying away from the waterfront and wandering the streets. Everyone, tie your shoelaces... for off we go!

Our first stop is right next to the Community House. It's the New Atkinos Community Marketplace. Built in a majestic style complementing the civic structure near it, the market offers three levels of shops and plenty of space for artisans.

    market1.jpg

    market2.jpg

There are three businesses dedicated to pineapples here: Mr. Pineapple, Casa Piña, and Coladas 'R Us.

Once we stagger out of the market, laden with delicious pineapple pastries and pineapple bread and pineapple jam and a flask of pineapple brandy, we are off to see the sights! Well, maybe a siesta in the park to sleep off the pineapple overload. While we recline, we can admire the statue behind the market. It's one of the most celebrated of New Atkinos' shapes... the inanimate carbon rod. They are revered in many places... as you can see below.

Ummmm... where was I? Oh yeah... the tour. Let's pass through the neighborhood of Sir Puff Square and see the residents.

    n1.jpg

    n6.jpg

Sir Puff Square features fine homes and a few farmhouses. The meadow is great for residents to play freeze tag and blow on dandelion puffs. One resident, William Wright, was leaning against a palm tree and had an idea, "Wow! I could have a game where we could play like we had the whole city." Now, that's a thought!

We are now close to the northern shore. The neighborhood of Spidey Shores sits across the street and faces the water. Townsfolk like the anonymity of living in the Spidey Shores development. They say that if you were a Spidey-man, "nobody knows who you are."

    n7.jpg

    Spidey Shores... your friendly neighborhood.

Before we explore the southern half of town. Let's stop by the neighborhoods close to the shore. Homes of various sizes blend well with commercial services buildings. Near the beach is the new shop, B. B.'s Fans, selling fabulous fans for those who head out on the beach and don't want to "glisten" too much.

    n9.jpg

Looks like the blue beach towel sale is still in progress.

    n10.jpg

Should we head over to Nine Tails?

I think instead we will head over to the other side of town.

    n2.jpg

Our next stop can be the fabulous tower. I don't think it has been given a name... yet

Sir Puff Square? Spidey Shores? How exciting. That, by the way, wouldn't be Craig Towers would it?

...And with that update comes my first post here!

-I've lurked for too long now, the Schulmanator must know I support his work!  This CJ is so big you can get lost so quickly with the sheer quantity and quality if pictures and info displayed.  I really don't have too much more to say other than I love that Simpson's episode!

    Keep it up!

    Best,

    -Haljackey

Yes, Sir Puff Square, I'm sure the aercheologists will find IT first. LOL, likely not. Spidey Shores being along the coast, it would likely be the first excavation area.

Some Ancient Ruins will boost Tourism and the Souvenir Economy in New Atkinos after it's Pompeii. Perhaps Sir Puff will invest his money wisely and plan for a future blockof

    shops.

I really really loved that update. I am still smiling. Spidey Shores really looks like the friendliest neighborhood that ever, uh, neighborhooded... That doesn't sound right, does it?

Anyways, did that tour feel like it took three hours to anyone else? Or was it just me spending way too much time meandering through Spidey Shores?

    -Your Friendly Neighborhood Spidey

That's a beautiful town! I can't believe it's the same game that I build crappy cities in.

I've resigned to the fact that I'll never read all 219 pages, but it seems to be that one can pick up at any point. You sure are a popular fella lol

Wow, more incredible views! The Supreme Wirdle should pay a visit here, after purring of the untellable Risa Beach beauties and wonders of course. 2.gif

I remember this William Wright fellow of yours. That guy always brags he made one of the greatest games of all time! We talked a lot about the blue towel business - FYI he's the biggest sponsor - and finally I asked him: "y'know Will, they have another William Wright in the human world", and he said "Nah, that's a common name... like Larry King!"

Carbon rods? Something seems strange about the town... could it have to do with Isotope-163?

Anyway, nice marketplace, may I kindly ask where you got that wonderful building?

    always picturesque, great stuff!

Let no one yield, we're on the field where deeds eclipse the sun; where the brave are told on a thread of gold, the tapestry is spun. As they speak of dreams, their armor gleams, this calm before the storm... Where all can see their destiny, the bishop takes the pawn.

Maranello575 You are quite correct. Schulmania does not have cars. So, many buildings are connected with pedestrian mall tiles. If I could put pedmall tiles in front of residential buildings, I would not have to go back and paint over so many cars.

Pipishere Thanks! Glad you like it.

CarmineHilton Thanks. Glad to see you back.

Hester Tower name has not been made official yet. Bribes are still being accepted.

Haljackey Thanks for coming out of lurk mode! I loved that episode myself. My favorite line from it...

    SimpsonsHailAnts.jpg

Kent: Ladies and gentlemen, er, we've just lost the picture, but,

uh, what we've seen speaks for itself. The Corvair spacecraft

has been taken over -- "conquered", if you will -- by a master

race of giant space ants. It's difficult to tell from this

vantage point whether they will consume the captive earth men

or merely enslave them. One thing is for certain, there is no

stopping them; the ants will soon be here.

And I, for one, welcome our new insect overlords. I'd like to

remind them that as a trusted TV personality, I can be helpful

in rounding up others to toil in their underground sugar

    caves.

Leech10 Hmmmm, bribes are always welcomed!

Joetropian1 Sounds like he has a long range plan.

bbfan02 Thanks. Sir Puff has big plans for New Atkinos.

    sc4portugal Thanks!

NMUSpidey That's a though. Let's check with the leader of the Spidey Shores Homeowners Association, Peter Parker, and see what he suggests.

Jill Jacobs lol! 219 pages is a lot to read. But, the newcomer's guide (link in sig) helps you to get the back story of what took place already.

    Pipishere That they are! Yummy!

Smarty218 The rod is quite popular, isn't he?

gabry85 Actually, I knew someone with a similar name in elementary school. Too bad he is not THE Will Wright!

John94538 Glad you like the new update. The market place came from http://simcity.capitalsim.net/ which has several fun Latin Lots.

Explodingsims lol! No cats like getting caught in the rain!

    Manticorefan Thanks!

Shanna Thanks! Glad you love it.

New Atkinos is the place for business! Nice shots of the town. The development in the last picture looks good. I like how the buildings there are different, and a bit more colorful, thanks to the blue structures. Time to paint the town blue!

Is that dark chocolate? Dark chocolate is good......
